He works 147 hours out of the 168 hours of the week and they don't have a stockpile of chapters to release for the next couple of weeks??? I mean, I feel bad he's sick and all but what could you possibly be working on for that long ;_;

It hardly sounds surprising to me he wrote and painted 700~ 20-page chapters in 16 years. Which also generally have more panels per page as well as having more detail then those of other big manga like naruto and bleach.

I wish Oda would use this as an opportunity to take a year off instead of 2 weeks. One piece storytelling hasn't been quite as good as it used to be since the marineford arc, perhaps some time without pressure may be all he needs to ensure that the series will go back the way it used to be.
 
If you remember, there were always pretty significant breaks between greatness, anyway. We had Skypeia and Davy Back in between Alabasta and Water 7 and we had Thriller Bark in between that and Whitebeard Wars.
 
Well pretty much every arc before the marineford arc introducted some interesting memorial characters. Which is something current arcs seem to be lacking so far(albeit fujitora does seem promising)
 
I believe Oda-sensei already had health problems, so they might have already been using up the stock.

I've posted several times in this thread concern for Oda-sensei's health. All we can do is hope that he is better soon.
 
So C Block should be coming up in the next chapter or two, anyone want to hazard a guess at who's going to be the main contestants to watch?

Don Chin Jao is pretty much a given at this point imo. Apart from the Don I reckon Jean Ango could be one of the top dogs. To be a successful bounty hunter in the NW you'd think that he would have to be pretty strong. OP definitely needs some legitimate bounty hunters to be introduced as well. I'm guessing Jean Ango is a play on Django and ppl with important names/important objects are usually signficant.

Regarding the Don, I'm assuming pretty much everyone thinks Luffy is taking out this block (?) but do you reckon it'll end with a KO or a ring out (DBZ tournament style)? Is Luffy strong enough to beat the Don low/mid/high difficulty? Can he do it without stretching/revealing his identity?

I wont spoil anything, but lets just say that a number of predictions on APforums etc have been confirmed.

Oh and wtf? Apparently the "Chinjao family" is actually the "green pepper family". I can't look at Don Chinjao's body shape without laughing my ass off now.
 
We all know the damn bull will have a big part in that fight. Mostly for laughs but it counts.

Also, i hope it's nothing serious. We all know how almost dying can change a person. Especially their creations.

BTW, in case anyone read this and had hope for a chapter this week, the chinese chapter is a terribly made fake, using actual panels from even recent chapters.
