Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 236 Def / 24 SpD
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 Def / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Iron Head
- Swords Dance

Keldeo goes well with Bisharp as it deals with Skarmory and Quagsire, and Latios also goes well with it, as it counters opposing Keldeo, which is a problem to Bisharp. Pokemon like Scarf Landorus-T and Mega Scizor are great for wearing down Keldeo as well, which opens up a lot for an eventual Bisharp sweep.

How do OU bans impact other tiers? I've been skimming the potential suspect thread in VR and some people elude to a BP ban impacting lower tiers. Which tiers would it impact, and could it potentially not impact lower tiers if BP (or Evasion, or Swagger, etc.) was banned? For example, say OU banned BP. Could NU or LC still allow it?

OU, UU, RU, NU, and (soon....) PU are all linked together with bans. Thus, whatever is banned in OU is banned in UU, RU, NU, and PU. Whatever is banned in UU is banned in RU, NU, and PU, and so on.

Obviously, the heathens friendly peeps in Ubers do their own thing; when if Shadow Tag is banned in Ubers, it will NOT be banned in OU &c. This is because Ubers is/was a banlist first and a tier second.*

I'm sure you already know this because I've seen you knocking about the forums. The hypothetical second part of your question is much more interesting and highlights the measures that have been taken to (and I'm stealing a legal phrase to an extent) narrowly tailor the bans to match the necessity of the ban.

Let's say OU banned BP and UU still wanted it. I think it would be unprecedented, but UU could (I think?) unban BP, but this would cause its own problems in terms of maintaining the tiering system as a hierarchical device. I hope that made sense, but I don't know how to say it better. I use UU as an example because UU is a well-known dictatorship.

Or it would mean Smogon Civil War. I think perhaps someone more skilled/advanced than I could answer this more fully, so I'll restate the question: What happens in the event of a rift between the tiers as regards bans?

*This is somewhat controversial, but I'm straying too much from OU to elaborate on this.

In addition to what ChristovaOnIce said, Little Cup is a completely seperate metagame in a similar vain to Ubers. Bans affecting OU, UU, RU, NU, and so forth have no bearing whatsoever on the LC meta.

Hey guys, do you think I should keep this Diancie:

Rash Nature: 31/31/31/31/6/31

I've been resetting for awhile. Maybe a Rock Polish Mega Sweeper set? Or should I keep resetting for Naive?

Yeah, with a rash nature that should be a great mixed rock polish mega diancie with a moveset of Moonblast, Earth Power, and Diamond Storm.

I know this might sound silly but do pokemon banned to ubers ever get considered to be placed back in OU?
It's pretty rare for that to happen within the same generation (i.e. XY / ORAS) since most are banned for being broken, and it's pretty rare for a Mon mid-generation to suddenly become unbroken.

In the turn pinsir mega evolves, does it already get the aerilate boost when quick attack/return is chosen ?
Yes. The moment it evolves, it gains the ability Aerielate and its normal moves become flying type.
Confirmation, just watched somebody test it in OU monotype; mega evolved and hit with supereffective flying damage from quick attack on the same turn.

http://www.smogon.com/tiers/ou/ban_history

That should be an interesting read for you. That should be required reading for all new players actually, but then again most people don't read the forum rules... Anyways, Kyu-B was initially sent to Ubers and then unbanned mostly due to bad typing and movepool. Garchomp was also unbanned in a roundabout way when Sand Veil was banned under the Evasion Clause and it gained a non-Sand Veil ability.

roxanne was correct, but it's important to note it does not gain the speed boost on the turn it Mega Evolves. It uses 85 base speed on the turn it evolves, and then 105 speed every turn after.

Yes and no. It does gain the boost to the speed stat (for the purposes of calculating things like Gyro Ball or Electro Ball) but the turn order will not change until the next turn.

Anyone know any good competitive podcasts? I'm interested in hearing about both the Smogon metas (OU...NU, Ubers, LC) and non-Smogon metas (really just VGC).

What's the best anti bird spam pokemon or strategy? You know, Talonflame, Mega Sal, Mega Pin, Staraptor, etc.
Rhyperior is probably the best answer to bird spam, as the only thing it really has to fear is close combat from choice banded staraptor which it can probably shrug off thanks to its sky high defense and solid rock, and maybe the rare hydro pump from mega salamence.

Heatran could also fit in on both offensively and defensively oriented teams, while also keeping Talonflame and M-Salamence (w/o earthquake) in check, and it can work well around CB/CS Staraptor with Protect to scout the move.

On a mega pinsir set is Close Combat nessecary? I have a shiny jolly pinsir that doesn't have close combat or quick attack. Can this set still work?
Equake
Stone Edge
Double Edge/Return
Swords Dance
252 Att 252 Spe 4 Hp
Pinsirite
