Just saying that I slashed wing attack alongside ice fang on aerodactyl so when nominating counters/checks take into account that.

Thanks to Esidisi for the idea. Keep at it everyone

Omastar @ White Herb
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shell Smash
- Hydro Pump / Surf
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Grass]

Role: Check

Can be a bit of a shaky check to be sure, but Omastar lives an Earthquake and can set up Shell Smash, being able to outspeed Aerodactyl at +2 even with Modest. Meanwhile, Omastar doesn't even need to boost to KO Aerodactyl with its STAB of choice. All told, if you have this guy as your wincon, you can set up on Aerodactyl.

252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Omastar: 203-239 (72.2 - 85%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Omastar: 152-179 (54 - 63.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Ice Fang vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Omastar: 32-39 (11.3 - 13.8%) -- possible 8HKO
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Aerial Ace vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Omastar: 45-55 (16 - 19.5%) -- possible 6HKO (Wing Attack isn't in the calculator, but it's the same except for PP)

252+ SpA Omastar Surf vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Aerodactyl: 374-444 (124.2 - 147.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252+ SpA Omastar Hydro Pump vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Aerodactyl: 458-542 (152.1 - 180%) -- guaranteed OHKO (lol who needs boosting)

Seismitoad as a COUNTER

Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 216 HP / 200 Def / 92 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Earth Power
- Knock Off

Seismitoad can switch in on any of the listed moves with ease and proceed to set up Stealth Rocks, Knock Off an incoming switch, or 2HKO Aero w/ Scald. Because Aerodactyl is almost guaranteed to switch out, being able to set up rocks as it leaves is important because the opponent has to find the time to Defog or take 25% on their next Aero switch-in.

Calcs for fun:
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 216 HP / 200+ Def Seismitoad: 112-133 (27.6 - 32.8%) -- 70.7% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Aerial Ace vs. 216 HP / 200+ Def Seismitoad: 101-121 (24.9 - 29.8%) -- 0% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Seismitoad Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Aerodactyl: 192-228 (63.7 - 75.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

300th post HYPE.

Alomomola as a Hard Check / Counter.

Alomomola @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 120 HP / 136 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Scald
- Toxic

Typical fat fish checking physical attackers lacking coverage. Thanks to its great HP + ok Defense, Alomomola can pretty much take Stone Edges freely, wishing off the damage. Momo here can just proceed to Scald Aero to its content or be one mean sunovabitch and toxic stall our poor pterodactyl to extinction.

252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 120 HP / 136+ Def Alomomola: 172-203 (34.3 - 40.5%) -- 39.3% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 120 HP / 136+ Def Alomomola: 114-135 (22.7 - 26.9%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Aerial Ace vs. 120 HP / 136+ Def Alomomola: 103-122 (20.5 - 24.3%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery (calc doesn't have wing attack)

0 SpA Alomomola Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Aerodactyl: 108-128 (36.1 - 42.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Reserving Based Lord Kabutops
<-- Most derpy thing ever
KKabutops @ Life Orb
Ability: Weak Armor
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Stone Edge
- Aqua Jet
- Waterfall

Role: Check

Kabutops can switch in on Ice Fang, Wing Attack, and one Stone Edge and proceed to kill Aerodactyl with Aqua Jet if it's taken residual damage. But look out, EQ can kill after Rocks!

252+ Atk Life Orb Kabutops Aqua Jet vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Aerodactyl: 244-291 (81 - 96.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Kabutops: 175-208 (67 - 79.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Aerial Ace vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Kabutops: 53-62 (20.3 - 23.7%) -- 61.2% chance to 4HKO after Stealth Rock
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Ice Fang vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Kabutops: 38-45 (14.5 - 17.2%) -- possible 6HKO after Stealth Rock

Medicham as a check

Choice Scarf Medicham outspeeds and easily kills Aerodactyl 90% of the time. Thanks to its typing it can also switch in on Stone Edge so if you are god by all means go for it.
252 Atk Pure Power Medicham High Jump Kick vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Aerodactyl: 369-435 (122.5 - 144.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Medicham: 116-136 (44.4 - 52.1%) -- 19.9% chance to 2HKO

Reserving Uxie

Uxie @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 64 Def / 192 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic
- Thunder Wave
- U-turn

Uxie is a soft counter/check. Due to it's nice defensive bulk, Uxie can kinda take hits from Aero. Once in, it can T-Wave it, thus making Aero dead weight for the rest of the game. It can also follow that up by setting up Rocks, going for Psychic, or U-turn out into an offensive mon that can apply more pressure on Aero and the opposing team.

252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 252 HP / 64+ Def Uxie: 126-149 (35.5 - 42%) -- 89.5% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Reserving Blastoise Blastoise for Counter

Blastoise @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Aura Sphere
- Dark Pulse

Another dropped mon to threaten it still from UU. This Physically Defensive Blastoise, isnt able to wall Aero, but it can take a hit to be able to hit back and it will hit back hard if Torrent is in effect. the only real threatening move is Stone Edge, with that 30% more crit chance and that is does 43% as a max roll. When hitting back, Scald is good to try for that burn to cripple Aero for the rest of the team, or to ensure that you make the KO.

Blastoise > Aerodactyl

8 SpA Blastoise Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Aerodactyl: 194-230 (64.4 - 76.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Aerodactyl > Blastoise

252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Blastoise: 133-157 (36.8 - 43.4%) -- 99.4% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Earthquake vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Blastoise: 88-105 (24.3 - 29%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Aerial Ace vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Blastoise: 79-95 (21.8 - 26.3%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Life Orb Aerodactyl Ice Fang vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Blastoise: 29-34 (8 - 9.4%) -- possibly the worst move ever

Stone Edge while burnt.

252 Atk Life Orb burned Aerodactyl Stone Edge vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Blastoise: 66-78 (18.2 - 21.6%) -- possible 7HKO after Leftovers recovery

Alright, time to update this and return to the original schedule this thread had (Monday to monday), thanks everyone for their contributions :D

Counter: Aggron (fran17) And thats it, lol
Check: Mega Steelix (BrandonBeast) | Granbull (Esidisi) | Piloswine (Arifeen)
Abomasnow (Fineonbae) | Durant (Froggyboy) | Rotom-Frost (Kableye)
Special mention: Weezing (Scienceandreligion)
Thanks again, really appreciate it as always :o

Victim of this week goes to:

Aerodactyl @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 29 HP / 0 SpA
- Ice Fang / Wing Attack
- Earthquake
- Roost
- Stone Edge

New drops means new threats to take into account for and that means new victims of the week!! This mon has outstanding cleaning potential since it is so fast with pretty respectable power. Discuss
Why wing attack over aerial ace?

Why wing attack over aerial ace?
It has higher PP. The differences between the two are essentially irrelevant in all but the most contrived circumstances. I'd, personally, use Aerial Ace because of Brightpowder/Acupressure on the ladder, but Wing Attack is more likely (still incredibly unlikely) to be relevant in a tournament.

Adding Tangrowth as a check.
(this might have creep on it sorry ;_:)

Tangrowth @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 116 HP / 252 SpA / 140 Spe
Modest Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Knock Off

Is only afraid of taking two Aerial Aces/Wing Attacks - Ice Fang doesn't 2hko after rocks but can 2hko after rocks + high rolls + LO recoil. Stone Edge *does* 2hko after rocks though. Naive Fire Blast does quite a bit too, making Tangrowth a shaky switch in and therefore a check. Regenerator kind of eases the ability to switch in erratically though.

Tyrantrum is a check.

Tyrantrum Choice Scarf
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Head Smash
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Superpower

Tyrantrum can take any of aero's attacks except Earthquake on the switchin, and then outspeed with the classic Head Smash to take a knockout.

Check

Banette @ Banettite
Ability: Insomnia
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Will-O-Wisp / Thunder Wave
- Destiny Bond
- Knock Off
- Shadow Claw

Banette can utilize Prankster Will-O-Wisp or Thunder Wave to cripple Mega Aerodactyl and wear it down through Shadow Claw. Simple really.

Alright, time to update this. LotS of pretty cool submissions this week :D

Counter: Bronzong (Ping_Pong_Along) | Seismitoad (Ban Me) | Alomomola (Esidisi)

Rotom-Mow @ Choice Specs

Reserving Virizion

Virizion @ Lum Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Leaf Blade
- Stone Edge

Virizion can switch into whatever Rotom-C uses, even can switch into Trick and can be a good revenge-killer, but more importantly, it eats up whatever Rotom-C uses and makes it a free setup fodder, giving it more capability to plow through the foe's team.

COUNTER

Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SpD
Bold Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Synthesis
- Giga Drain
- Spore

Amoonguss can take any hit and easily regenerates back the lost health. While being tricked isn't fun, it still functions somewhat as a wall even with choice specs, and Rotom-C gets put on a serious timer. Biggest problem is that it can't keep Rotom from just volt switching out of it, but Regenerator means that Amoonguss can't ever be completely worn down by repeated switches into things that force it out.

Banned deucer.
Hard Check

Cradily @ Leftovers
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance
- Stealth Rock
- Recover

Hate to say Counter, since, you know, Trick. Plus

252+ SpA Choice Specs Rotom-C Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Cradily: 207-244 (55 - 64.8%)

which could be bothersome after a good volt switch or with 2 high rolls after Stealth Rock. Still it's pretty cool, and takes volt switch pretty ok:

252+ SpA Choice Specs Rotom-C Volt Switch vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Cradily: 55-66 (14.6 - 17.5%)

Reserving Abomasnow Abomasnow for Counter

Abomasnow @ Abomasite
Ability: Soundproof
EVs: 8 HP / 68 Atk / 252 SpA / 180 Spe
Mild Nature
- Blizzard
- Wood Hammer
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake

Abomasnow here is nothing but a counter, being able to take any hit from Rotom-C and then still take another one as if nothing happened and then make the KO. With the most powerful move doing less than 50% before a stat drop Abomasnow is in good shape.

Abomasnow > Rotom-C

252+ SpA Mega Abomasnow Blizzard vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Rotom-C: 378-446 (156.8 - 185%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Rotom-C > Abomasnow

252 SpA Choice Specs Rotom-C Leaf Storm vs. 8 HP / 0 SpD Mega Abomasnow: 131-155 (40.5 - 47.9%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
-2 252 SpA Choice Specs Rotom-C Leaf Storm vs. 8 HP / 0 SpD Mega Abomasnow: 66-78 (20.4 - 24.1%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Rotom-C Thunderbolt vs. 8 HP / 0 SpD Mega Abomasnow: 91-108 (28.1 - 33.4%) -- 0% chance to 3HKO

Volt Switch is even less than that >.>

Houndoom @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Fire Blast
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power something / Sucker Punch

kill rotom cut with fire blast, outspeed and everything easy
252 SpA Life Orb Houndoom Fire Blast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Rotom-C: 393-463 (163 - 192.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Infernal

Banned deucer.

Camerupt
@ Cameruptite
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 248 HP / 176 SpD / 84 Spe
Calm Nature
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic

SpD Mega Camerupt is a nice check to Rotom-C. It's able to come in on a Volt Switch and make Rotom-C lose momentum. From there, you can lay down SR, poison common switch ins like Alomomola, or use a decently powerful attack. Camel is also immune to Trick, preventing it from being crippled like several other answers to Rotom-C. The only issue camel has with Rotom-C is Leaf Storm, which does 59.4 - 69.9%. A SpD spread gives camel the chance to live two Leaf Storms from full health if I'm not mistaken, but there's still some prediction and caution involved when deciding to switch it in.

Roselia as the cutest counter

Roselia @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Spikes
- Synthesis
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb

Rotom's strongest attack against it is: 252 SpA Rotom-C Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Eviolite Roselia: 35-42 (11.5 - 13.8%) -- possible 8HKO
Roselia dislikes Trick but it still has reasonable bulk and special attack without Eviolite so it's not that bad. It's also cute af, the biggest factor.

Vileplume @ Leftovers
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 192 HP / 100 Def / 216 SpA
Modest Nature
- Synthesis
- Moonblast
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb

Here, have a Check.

Vileplume can stuff any attack Rotom can throw and OHKO it with Sludge Bomb. Wouldn't say it's a true counter because Trick Bites, but it can definitely get the job done.
