Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Rules:
- Vote for a metagame by liking the post (in this thread) that has its name on it.
- You may vote for as many metagames as you want.
- Do not try to influence other voters and do not bash any metagame. Asking people to vote for a metagame in the OM room may lead to moderation actions being taken from roomauth.
- If your account is less than one week old, your vote will not be counted.
- The metagame with the most votes will receive a ladder on the main server of Pokemon Showdown for the month.*
[If you're unsure of any of these rules, ask the OM Room for help or post your issue in this thread]
Voting will close at some time on (or maybe after) July 31st.
*(in the event that a meta is unable to be coded and/or implemented onto the PS! main server, the metagame with the second most votes will get a ladder instead)
Each player brings 3 Pokemon, and picks one to battle with during team preview. However, instead of picking what move to use, you pick what move your opponent will use (against you).
Every Pokemon on your team has access to all of the moves and abilities abilities of the first Pokemon in your teamslot, but you lose access to your own movepool and abilities.
Each team has a "God" and five "Followers". The "God" is the Pokemon in the first slot of the team, it can be any Pokemon from Ubers to OU, the "Followers" must follow the OU banlist. The Followers must share a type with the God. If the God faints, a constant Embargo effect is applied to the player's team upon fainting.
If hax can happen, it will happen: any move with a chance to miss will miss; every move that hits will crit; and every move with a secondary effect activates that effect.
The first three slots and last three slots in a team are separate "halves." Right before the match, one half is randomly selected. The Pokemon in that half become a part of your opponent's team, and vice versa.
When a Pokemon faints, the opposing Pokemon replaces its current ability with the fainted Pokemon's and gains its last-used move in a new slot. These changes last the entire match. If a Pokemon faints before using a move during the match, no move is gained by the opponent.
