hi. The purpose of this thread is for us to create a team Pokemon by Pokemon as a community via nominating and voting on Pokemon in this thread. Halfway through the build & once the team is finished (every 3 Pokemon), we'll have a session in the OU Workshop room on PS! where we'll discuss the Pokemon chosen and decide whether or not what was voted on was the most optimal.

dw fren, thats why we have session

the voting stage has ended!

so with that, the second member alongside dd landorus-t is breloom!

this means the phase for suggesting 'mons is now open! when putting in your recommendation, make sure to include a brief description on why it is optimal for the current team of dd landorus-t + breloom. you have between now and friday (2/5) for recommendations.

Reserving Mega Chary-X.

Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Dragon Claw
- Roost

Charizard-X would make an excellent partner to this core as it can set up on or KO Grass types, most notably Celebi and Mega Venusaur with its insanely powerful STAB. In addition, Charizard-X can wear down some of Landorus-T's checks, such as Rotom-W, opposing Landorus-T, and Hippowdon, paving a way for Landorus-T to sweep.

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split

Rotom-W provides a nice response to Exca and other grounds. I think this is a good thing for the team to have because Lando-T is offensive. So, it's better to avoid having the therian take unnecessary damage from Exca and even things like SR Chomp. This is because it'll end up getting weakened substantially should Lando-T end up as our only switch in to them, reducing its ability to sweep. Rotom-W addresses this issue early on and gives us some breathing room with future slots.

Rotom-W's flying resistance is a noteworthy contribution too. With Breloom, having a check to threats like Talon and Torn-T is important. Rotom-W provides this and does the job well. Other bulky waters we could choose from would be unable to fulfill the roles mentioned so far as effectively, and this could end up making it hard to cover as many threats as we'd like. There are a few more things Rotom-W provides. One is taking advantage of Skarmory, who is annoying for the other two members so far. Burning the likes of Chomp and Mega Venu is also super useful since they are annoying for Breloom. Lando-T + Breloom requires an ice resistance to keep threats like Weavile in check, and Rotom-W brings this. Volt Switch helps maintain the offensive flow the team is developing, preventing any passiveness while fitting in well.

Overall, I think Rotom-W is a good choice to fulfill several roles we will probably need later. This will make us have to definitely cover Latios and things like Mega Venusaur in the coming slots. Thinking long term though, I don't think this will be a big issue. Lando-T isn't our rocker, so the chances of something like Heatran or Jirachi making an appearance on this team to address these problems is high unless we take another route with SR.

to vote, simply say the name of the option you're going with. as a reminder, the team so far is double dance landorus-t and breloom.

Rotom-W

I'm not a big fan of the Char-X set considering that you sort of have 3 win cons but no definite way to supplement two of them right now. If it was Wisp Zard-X (which is something to consider in the future) then maybe I would budge. However, I think having double dance Lando-T, SD Loom, and DDance Zard-X all in one team is a bit try hard to assert a power level that doesnt keep an end game in mind for the team. Rotom-W provides a good amount of blanket utility right now and gives you the freedom later to one, choose a mega, and two, not necessitate a hazard remover which Char-X would require automatically giving you the freedom to take the team in multiple directions.

sorry for being one day late on this, but the voting stage has ended! the choice was fairly unanimous and good for leading the team in the right way.

with that, the third member of the build is rotom-w! this leaves the team at dd landorus-t / sd breloom / defensive rotom-wash. keep in mind though, these sets other than dd lando-t aren't finalized and can possibly be changed the in workshops held on ps!.

also, a workshop will not take place this week for the current team as myself and a few others who are apart of this project have discussed it and we feel the team is going in the right direction, keep up the good suggestions!

this means the phase for suggesting 'mons is now open! when putting in your recommendation, make sure to include a brief description on why it is optimal for the current team of dd landorus-t + breloom + rotom-w. you have between now and saturday night EST time (2/13) for suggestions.

Heatran
@ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock

With Landorus-T being offensive, we will need another rocker. In terms of threat coverage and giving us flexibility with the remaining two slots, I feel Heatran is better than any other option we could choose from to fulfill the role. Besides bringing SR to the table, Heatran provides an answer to Mega Venusaur, Serperior, and Latios. These three are arguably the biggest threats the team currently faces, and Heatran does a nice job patching up these issues. Heatran's fairy resistance is also appreciated to help the team against the likes of Clefable and non-EQ Mega Altaria. Checking non-EQ Charizard-X is helpful, and the ability to keep Talonflame at bay also helps relieve some pressure away from Rotom-W.

Overall, Heatran gives the team many of the things it's currently looking for, even being able to aid Landorus-T by poisoning and wearing down Pokemon like Rotom-W. Heatran also keeps our mega slot open, giving us several good options to choose from afterwards to bring more speed and power to the team. A spread with more SpD is possible to take hits from Latios better. However, speedy Heatran is nice for offensive Mega Scizor and getting the jump on other threats like stall breaker Mew.
