rayquaza has priority, dual 150 offenses, an ability that negates weather, dragon dance, swords dance, and coverage for just about everything. it is quite the force. kyurem-b has a more debilitating typing, a worse movepool, and lower special attack. rayquaza's stats are better tailored to its role than those of kyurem-b. these reasons are why ray is ubers while kyu-b is ou.

I like to use Adamant whenever I run a sashed Breloom because of the increase in power. Also ogasian, SashLoom is actually pretty good, as the sash guarantees it a turn of set-up, which is good because Breloom is (kinda) frail; I also agree with your preference for Fighting Gem Focus Punch Breloom over SashLoom.

It doesn't matter. Jolly Mamoswine outspeeds all non-scarfed variants of Breloom.

Anyways, a simple question of my own (so the thread doesn't go off-topic): what is the optimal defensive EV spread for a Jolly / Timid Riolu that already has 252 EVs invested in speed?

e: on a tangent, what is the best EV spread and nature a Riolu can run?

Jolly does allow you to speed tie with Custap Skarm if you want to take that 50/50 risk but other than that I think Adamant is fine since I wouldn't count on a Lead Mamo not being Jolly.
 
Why do tournament players recommend the magic number of 72HP on all Latias sets to function best in OU? Are there any relevant calcs or threats to warrant this allocation of SAtk?

Given the number of powerful Pokemon sitting close to the 100 speed tier, why do so many 100 speed pokemon run an Adamant or Modest nature, and why do pokemon sitting at 95, 97, and 98 speed run Adamant/Modest instead of Jolly/Timid? I understand that added power is great, but even some scarfers are encouraged to go Modest/Adamant.

Why don't Latios that run HP Fire just run a lower powered HP Fire, like 68,69,67,66 or whatever ensures that Latios doesn't have to run 30 Speed IVs and be outsped by other Lati@s and Gengar?
 
Latias needs hp investment to make full use of its bulk which is THE thing that separates it from latios. 72 is just a recommendation, you can go as far as 112 to survive venusaur +2 life orb sludge bomb. The only ou mons at 100 speed are celebi which almost never runs max speed, jirachi, salamence which is almost always scarfed and volcarona. As you can see the only reason to use a positive natured would be to speed creep each other which is usually not worth the loss of power. Kyurem huge bulk, haxorus access to dragon dance and hydreigon role as a wallbreaker make offense boosting natures superior in most cases. Again unless you want to speed them there inst much reason to do go for jolly/timid.
 
72 HP gives Latias a Life Orb number and lets it survive two rain-boosted Scarf Keldeo's Hydro Pump 100% of the time as well as a >50% chance to not be 2HKOed by Venusaur's Sludge Bomb after Stealth Rock.
 
To add to that, since 72 HP EVs give Latias 319 health, it is 1 point below taking additional sand damage, a team archetype Latias is often found on now. As for HP Fire, it requires an even speed IV, so keeping 31 is not possible.
 
I've been working on a hail team and so far it is going well. However, Rotom-W is a bigger problem than expected so could someone just list off some counters to it that work on hail teams? Currently, the only Specially bulky Pokemon I have is Latias. I'd rather not post the team here seeing that I intend to post an RMT soon but if someone really needs to see it, I can PM them, assuming it is still possible. :P

Celebi is probably the best switch in to Rotom-W atm thanks to Natural Cure but it is kind of redundant with Abomasnow in Hail so I'm not sure if that would work. Gastrodon is also a great switch in to Rotom-W, being immune to both STABs and I'm sure you could wiggle it onto a hail team if you felt it was necessary. The thing thats nice about Gastrodon as well is that you can run a Defensive set or a surprise Offensive set to catch the opponent off guard.

Also, if you do happen to get a free switch into Rotom-W, both Kyurem and Kyurem-B can easily set up a sub on it and proceed to put a ton of pressure on the opposing team. So if you can provide the momentum on your team to switch in these two safely that would be a great way to deal with it.
 
Both abomasnow and kyurem(b) which are staples on hail completely block rotom-w, only really fearing a burn from will-o-wisp, but you can always use a cleric to make this a non issue. Not exactly sure why would you need anything else to counter it. Just make sure that the rest of your team inst too weak to rotom and you will be fine.
 
No pokemon can 100% switch in safely against all of rotom sets. Theres always the danger of being burned, tricked a choice item or koed by a random hidden power. Theres simply nothing you can do about this other than trying to predict what its going to do. As i said before, abomasnow and kyurem(b) are safe against rotom w stab moves so they are your best bet.
 
How much speed should I run on taunt wow scald recover jelli? I'm running like 120ish which is completely arbitrary
 
88 Spd is a nice benchmark which has enough speed to outpace base 70 Pokemon (such as Politoed) that invest 4 EVs in Speed.

What are the most used playstyles of nowadays' OU? After Deo-D and Lando-I got Uberized?

What are the current meta's threats that i should watch out for/prepare myself before building a team?

What would make good partners for an Adamant Intimidate Salamence? i want to try something different from the typical Moxie ones.
