Somebody over at The FAQs apparently thinks it's going to be a Slowbro w/special moves but it's likely just BS. But I wouldn't discount the possibility that it ends up being some sort of giveaway akin to the Psyduck giveaway earlier.

Meaning, a possibility, youll get the shaymin/darkrai/arceus item and will be able to catch them?

But then again, he has bad english.
 
Its probably bad English.

It will probably be an event pokemon with a different OT or a special move.

It wont be game affecting like a patch.

Bear in mind, it DP has been out over a year, I for one have had my japanese copy since September 06, so Jan 12th ingame doesnt seem significant.
 
If I find out that this is a patch that clears out my E4 glitch in my Jap version, I am not gonna let my Pearl get touched by it, even if it means not getting an Arceus event if they do.

Who knows, maybe its a patch to the bike glitch (forgot what its called, but the map messes up), and you get one of the event items? xD

I thought this was quite likely, is there anything on the japanese pokemon site about it? Not that I can read Japanese

Well, to be fair, we don't get giveaway events from Game Freak on a normal basis lol. I still think an event Pokemon is unlikely without all the promotion and marketing behind it.
 
Gamefreak likes to make cameo appearances in Pokemon.. Maybe Masuda appears somewhere? Is the director in the game already? Maybe he says something different, and gives you an item/Pokemon.

Otherwise, a wifi event does seem plausible.
 
Well it's 8:30am Friday there now so around 8:00 central standard time it'll be 12:00am Saturday there if I'm not mistaken. I'll be in a French quiz but after that I've got unsupervised study hall so I'll check then. Maybe anyone of us who can should check and report findings?
 
They could be giving out an event just to test out mystery gift via wifi. They wouldn't need to promote it much since they'd be mostly concerned with mystery gift's effectiveness. They could still promote a traditional giveaway in the near future with the same success as they normally get.
 
If it doesn't require Wifi connection than people can just set their game's date to the 12th, so I think that it must require Wifi. ZOMG, less than 24 Hrs for me!!!

Well i've gtg activate mystery gift... then i'll havbe a field day on Wifi Tomorow, trying to get anythign I can to happen.

Then I'll post it in time for everyone to do it, as us aussies are a bit ahead of most people here...
 
I dont know if this is allready said here(didn't read thread;o) but i like how he dont say ANYTHING about wi-fi:) Wait how is this supposed to work lol:/
 
I agree. He just said to play on the 12th and that was that. It could be a game clock thing.

I would have a heart attack if it was something to do with johto.
 
I reeeeally doubt it's a game clock thing. You have to remember that WiFi internet is incredibly popular in Japan, as they're years ahead of us. I doubt many people in Japan would have trouble finding an acess point!!!
