Even I was disappointed, I figured it would be some useless item. They at least coulda had your rival there or something to battle in the diamond crap.

he wrote four exclamation points, now i'm all for cool weather changes but when you right a post with 4 exclamation points, you get the feeling its going to be something pretty cool and not some weather effect that all ready naturally occurs in the game.


EDIT: to the post below, how do you tell the difference between diamond dust and hail? when your in a battle will it say like "The diamond dust started to fall!"
 
For all the people in America, have you changed the date to the 12th and actually checked Snowpoint? When I went to Snowpoint after changing the date, it was exactly the same...
 
I don't see why you guys are upset. If this(Diamond Dust) happened without a notification of a surprise, many of us would've been please with this small chance(barring that it is in fact the "something different"). The fact he made a small note about it put up HUGE speculation....but that's just it. It's only speculation. And, it's something. I
'm happy he cares enough about us who play the game to give us a rare spectacle to watch for a day. I didn't get the Dust yet, but hey, I still have tomorrow(That is, if the Dust IS in fact the something different).

I mean, he did write it in English, so maybe he is unlocking it on WiFi in each respective area of the world, pending when they turn January 12th.

Well, let's see how this pans out now.

The main problem is that diamond dust already occurs normally in the game. Ok, it's somewhat rare, but it's not like it happens just once in a blue moon. It's exactly like sandman said, "when you right a post with 4 exclamation points, you get the feeling its going to be something pretty cool and not some weather effect that all ready naturally occurs in the game".

(Just realised I've never been in Snowpoint Temple)

Any other things someone wants me to check?
 
Ok, it's just become the 12th here in Europe. On my English European copy, I do have Diamond Dust in Snowpoint. Guess this was it then. Oh well, at least we are guaranteed this every year, I'd assume.

Oh that's depressing.....but thanks. Makes sense. Well yea, if we get this every year at least it'll be pretty. Is there another weird weather effect like this, some kind of rainy or sunny one? Maybe that occurs on a specific date too.

It's just some sparkly snow at snowpoint town BeachBoy. It doesn't do jack.

On a related note, I can't get it as I changed my clock. Oh well, I don't really give a shit.
 
I think, even something as miniscule as this, could mean there are other little hidden easter egg events that will take place, that may commemorate other things dealing with the creators and stuff. Still kind of a letdown.
 
Maybe it's something that isn't in-game? And people who are posting that it's Diamond Dust are just too excited? Seriously American people, you only have to wait seven hours. Chill out.
 
It's the guys birthday so he promised "something different," and that's exactly what we got. If you chose to assume we'd get free Darkrais and Arceuses, then you deserve to be dissapointed.

I think it looks cool. :)
