Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 (DS, June in JP, Fall in EU/NA/AU) - Updated May 12th

I'm just hoping that they make certain things easier. I hate how annoying it was to collect shards for tutor moves, that was annoying as hell.
Shards weren't that bad. There were many just scattered about, roughly common underground, and you could trade in starpieces for 1 of each color.
And what's up with evolution stones in BW?? Either a 1% chance from a dust cloud or go through all that trouble in a version exclusive city >.<
THIS on the other hand is so true it's not even funny. I remain absolutely baffled as to why they insist on not just making evolution stones a pain to get but also trade evolution items.
Even Black City was a bust because you needed specific trainers in the City [and you could only get the stones] and you can only get more by going to other people's games. Compounded by it not being a guarantee that you'll get them to your City.

This has been an issue since the original gold & silver (FRLG slightly excepted but not really due to the Moon & Sun stones) and I have no idea why they would limit evolution items to such a degree. It discourages experimenting with other Pokemon and makes getting more of either that Pokemon or Pokemon that evolve from that stone/item an even greater pain.

The trade items in particular are compounded on needing, you know, a trade.

edit: oh hey serebii just posted this
b2w2glbig.jpg

basically, Cool Hole is for both the BW1 dreamworld & the BW2 dreamworld, but BW2's cool hole has access to 5th gen Pokemon like Drillbur there.
Also the return of the Cafe minigame in addition to an all new one.

I think you can steal Sun & Moon stones off of Solrock & Lunatone in BW. My poor bro has reserves of Thunderstones and Firestones by buying them in bulk JUST IN CASE we needed them lol. But we still have no water stones.

Anyways, Serebii just posted that the new area in the DW will contain Unova pokemon, although I think it's restricted unless you own BW2 or something.
I'm really hoping the AR catcher thing alleviates the horrible mess that is DW.
I play pokemon on my DS not on my laptop.

The area is there regardless of version, but you won't get 5th gen guys if you access it with via BW1.

As for the Sun & Moon stones that is still terrible.
Solrock & Lunatone only have a 5% chance of holding the stone (though, thankfully this can be boosted to ~20% with compound eyes) and those two are 10% encounters

Oh stones are so annoying. Before I was able to get a friend's Black game, I had to go into a cave with 500 Super Repels and try desperately to find a Water Stone. 200 Repels later, no success. Drove me so mad because I wanted to evolve my Staryu.

^Almost exact same experience (searching for a water stone!), took 250 super repels of biking back and forth, only I had Black but had let all the people in Black City leave. Even more frustrating though because I ended up with multiple of like every other evolution stone possible

Posted by Raikaria: As some of you may or may not know, the reason why Unova Dream World pokemon don't exist is because besides a handful of pokemon, no overworld sprites existed in B/W for the Unova native pokemon, and Dream World pokemon are encountered as an overworld in Extralink Forest. Without overworld sprites programmed in for them, there would be no way for the Extralink Forest to allow you to capture these pokemon.

However, the recent news on Serebii shows an image showcaseing new features of the pokemon global link, and it confirms if you are playing B/W2, you will be able to encounter Unova pokemon in the Cool Hole, specifically showcaseing Drillbur.

It is currently unknown if this will apply to old Dream World areas, in which case it's likly most Unova DW pokemon will suddenly become legal, includeing things like Shadow Tag Chanderlure, which would likly be in the Mansion area.

Needless to say, this revelation is a rather large development, as it brings the possibility for many abilities and threats. Even pokemon outside of OU could benifit.

I'm.calling.the.Kyurems.getting.stabs.from.their.abilties...(New.bW2.thing.)

Firstly, we know what their abilities are. Mold Breaker clones. They won't grant STAB to Fire or Electric.

Secondly, if you can't use the space bar, how'd the space get between the "a" and "b" in "a bilities"?

There's.no.reason.that.Terravolt.and.Tirboblaze.could.be.programmed.differnetly.n.this.game.to.give.the.Kyurem.formes'.stab...Only.for.them.thogh
And.I.don't.know...

You win at being part of the Grammar-Prose Team.

And yeah, Teravolt and Turboblaze. I'm calling that N is the new Champion and that Burgh is now part of the Elite Four.

Let/me/explain.my.theory...

Acreus'.ability.means.that.only.it.will.chnage.form.when.it.holds.a.plate...
With.another.Pokemon.ishacked.with.it.not1hing.happens...

Well.I'm.thinking.that.Teeravolt+Turboblaze.will.have.side.effects.giving.the.Kyurems.stabs.to.eletric.and.fire.moves.Only.to.them.though.i

I really REALLY doubt that'll happen. I don't think they'll make the same ability affect two pokemon differently.
If they do what you're suggesting then that mean that Zeks&Reshi* will be walking around with Moldbreaker+Adaptability.

I think that that's so unlikely that's it's not worth even speculating about lol

In other news, I'm really excited for Regenerator Amoonguss & Alomomola & Skill Link Cinccino.
There are many BW pokemon I never bothered training just coz they seem so pointless without their DW abilities.

----
*= Zekrom & Reshiram. Totally a copyrighted phrase by yours truly XD

But no other ability affects different Pokemon differently.

The examples you're giving (Multitype, Flower Gift, Forecast, etc.) affect only one species, and have no effect on anyone else.

There is no ability that affects one species one way and another species another way (other than having no effect).

I.see...Triple.stab.is.crazy.though.

I doubt BK/WK will get Electric/Fire boosts outside of a possible exclusive hold item. Their presumed 165 minimum offense stat means that White Kyurem's Fire Blast would probably outdo Reshiram's Blue Flare if WK were to get Fire "STAB."

Also they made a fair sized deal of the abilities being the same abilities as Resh & Zek.
If they had this additional bonus, why not advertise it as such?

Does anyone know if there are move tutors and what they teach?

Talking about TM, they can be modified, because TM are no longer capable of to be hold by Pokemon.

Unknown currently and will be unknown until release. People right now are just making up ideal wish lists for what move tutors are going to be teaching. TM's are same situation, though more then likely a few will change like usual (if memory serves each new game has a new arrangement for the tm's and none have repeated themselves in other games? May be wrong.)

burgh.is.the.3rd.gym.leader...

We're talking about Pokemon Black 2 White 2. Burgh is not a gym leader anymore. The gym leaders in these games are:

Cheren, Homika, Shizui, Elesa, Clay, Skyla, Brycen and Drayden.

Who is missing? Lerona (Normal-type), the trio (Fire/Water/Grass-types) and Burgh (Bug-type). Lerona is out because Normal-type already has a gym (Cheren). Same for Cress (Water). All that's left is Burgh. He'll be the Koga of BW2. N is gonna be the champion because he's the token character that helps you beat the villain during the game and is recognized as a strong trainer.

You heard it here first, people.
At least, the Burgh part.

lol facepalm for me, I thought BW2 are released today, but now I checked and they will be released this 23th Saturday.

Burgh is gym leader http://pokebeach.com/
Scroll down to gym leader article cover and look below Skyla. Brycen however isn't there and has only made an appearance in PokeWood.

But to the person whose saying he's third gym leader I hope you realize how stupid that assumption is right now without any gym leader order known other than 1st and second (Cheren, the Homika).

Actually, there's a fair chance of it being leaked as early as the 20th*. HGSS, BW and I believe Platinum all leaked 2 days prior thanks to pre-orders and such.
