Hm, looks like only a week until BW2 comes out. Damn, I'm gonna need to scroll through 20 pages of info. :P Any news on Akumora being with Team Plasma, or the Gym Leaders? *isn't trying to be an idiot -_-*

Guys, I realize OI is the off topic forum, but let's try to keep the discussion related to BW2. The presence of Ash's Charizard and Primeape on the anime has absolutely zero relevance.

He said the triplets not being Gym Leaders anymore would be a hint for them being the Shadow Triad, and I said that it doesn't make sense because we already had the Triad in BW, when the triplets were Gym Leaders. If they are the Triad now, they were the Triad in BW already. So no, it's not a hint or an evidence of anything.

You misunderstand; I'm saying it's possible that the Triplets were Gym Leaders AND the Shadow Triad at the same time in B/W. I.e they're ordinary Gym Leaders to begin with, but then Ghetsis recruited them into Plasma, and they're actually leading double lives. Plausible?

No because the one, single piece of backstory we have for them is that Ghetsis saved their lives and gave them meaning and as such have been serving him since before the game.

As much as I'd love that, this is Pokemon we're talking about, which is officially labeled as a "game for kids" even today.
What are the odds they'd turn 3 otherwise very nice characters into people with a hidden life of crime?

Then again Cilan is completely nuts in the anime so it's still a possibility but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

Maybe Ghetsis saved teh three as kids, and taught tehm the wonders of cooking?

It's possible that the three are th Triad, though i won't believe it until i see it for real in the game. It's far more likely the Triad are some other three people.

That said, Ghetsis isn't above tampering with kids' lives, so it's possible.

Considering N's backstory I doubt they care that much.
Also Cress is kind of a jerk while Cilan is timid.

BUT moving away from dumb theories with no real evidence, pokebeach ate so much sushi for this neat promo video: http://youtu.be/JnAfaYjCVUs
Nothing really new, but we do get to see & hear:
-Some pokewood music
-Misty's full animation
-A remix of the HGSS kanto leader theme. I'm guessing that Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh leaders will get similar treatment, as well as the various champs.

Well, the good thing is that in 6 days, it will come out in Japan, and we will see which theories are correct, and those which are not.

Also, the trainer battle music, for some reason, sounds slightly different.

Back to release...what is your in-game team going to consist of?
For me it's going to be something like this:
Samurott, Lucario, Arcainine, Jolteon, Weavile, and Haxorus or Hydreigon

Given that we don't know all the Pokemon in the Unova dex (Remember...there's around 300 Pokemon), I can't say for sure, but based on what we know as of now, here's my team. I'm mostly going with fav Pokes.
Samurott/Magmortar (Or maybe Arcanine)/Jolteon/Weavile/Lucario/Zangoose (Or maybe Tyranitar)
This'll probably change once we confirm the members of the E4 and Champion and the other wild Pokemon.

Lucario, Weavile and Jolteon all have poor levelup learnsets so you're probably going to have to use TMs on them. There might only be one Shadow Ball TM in the game though, so only one of them can use it. Zangoose is fine; he gets Crush Claw, X-Scissor, Pursuit, Close Combat and Swords Dance. Samurott gets the obligatory Surf STAB too. Magmortar is also good because he gets Lava Plume/Flamethrower, Thunderpunch and Confuse Ray.

As for me, I'm looking at a team including Ampharos/Galvantula, Arcanine and Vaporeon(?).

Ampharos gets good moves in Fire Punch, Discharge, Thunder Wave and Signal Beam, all through levelup. Galvantula has excellent dual STABs, and can run through everything with Discharge and Bug Buzz. Arcanine is just cool. Vaporeon has the free Surf HM, and can learn Ice Beam through TM.

Hydreigon, Haxorus and Metagross are all great but their prevolutions and evolution requirements are off-putting.

Of course, I forgot about that. However, Lucario and Weavile still don't get great TMs. Lucario gets Earthquake and Shadow Ball but not much more. There are many Pokemon that are better than it. Weavile gets Brick Break and that's pretty much it.

Jolteon is pretty good then, as it has access to both Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball.

why are people so sure that there will be move tutors? is it confirmed?

Well there was this one Riolu that used Ice Punch (a 4th Gen Tutor move) showcased in a trailer for Pokéwood, and it'd be kinda strange if they were to show a move unobtainable without transferring 'mons from earlier games...

Other than that, it's been a fairly consistent trend in third/remake games to include an expansive list of new move tutor moves. We'll know which ones are included (if any) by this time next week.

Well they have blatantly advertised that you can trransfer "as soon as you have across to c-gear, not saying much considering you don't know when that is. Plus aren't the Pokemon in pokewood rentals? (some news source said this but I may be wrong). But yeah move tutors seem obvious but of course we may get trolled and get no tutors and bad tm's. Edit: sorry for any poor spelling, iPhone autocorrect sucks.

I posted it last night!

Tyranitar's new back sprite is NOT an improvement... he looks like a rodent.

huh, it is a bit different, isn't it

About the defenses being messes up, the base defenses also change. You guys are seriously not hoping for 170 base atk/Satk, right? Then again, the defenses are seriously messed up - particularly on White Kyurem.

In all seriousness, yes, I'm hoping for 170+ base offense on both of these Pokemon. Kyurem really needs a lot of things for it to become viable in ubers due to how much it's typing holds it back defensively. Since it doesn't appear to have 100+ speed (bk,wk ofc), an increase in offenses would help it.

I'm expecting the base stats to be

Wk- 125/120/90/170/100/95
Bk- 125/170/100/120/90/95

I'm also hoping that they can mix and match moves (hinted by kyurem using what appears to be flamethrower in the trailer). White kyurem with thunder is a decent check to kyogre, and black kyurem will almost assuredly find some use for fire blast (blue flare????). Really hoping for icicle crash as well, because physical ice is incredibly devastating in ubers, and black kyu would have interesting wall breaking powers with it. Oh and don't even get me started on dragon dance. A dragon dancer that can break through Groudon and lugia? Yes please

But of course, gf tends to not be so kind. I've begun to speculate some sets and it seems that as long as mix and matching can be done, these kyurems can be viable in ubers in its current state (not that it would change an awful lot but we will see soon enough). For instance, white kyu's ability to take down ground arceus, grass arceus, and checking kyogre (assuming thunder) is unique, and I wonder what kind of implication it can have.

Even if mix and matching cannot be done, it's hard to deny how powerful 170 base Atkins/satk is. I'll try my best to find a way in the event that they do mess up its movepool...

I'm just hoping that they make certain things easier. I hate how annoying it was to collect shards for tutor moves, that was annoying as hell.
And what's up with evolution stones in BW?? Either a 1% chance from a dust cloud or go through all that trouble in a version exclusive city >.<

They need to make tutor moves learnable through BS points, and they need someone who sells evo stones for plain money.
Also someone like the berry master from RS!
