Team at the end of previous episode:

Sean - Lv 23 - Air Cutter
Valeria - Lv 23 - Confusion
Gregory - Lv 23 - Rock Blast, Smack Down

Ernest - Lv 26 - Flame Charge, Rock Smash, Rollout

Zachary - Lv 20 - (Benched, holding Exp. Share)
Things are looking up, although no team is complete without a 6th member… Let's go.
Episode 4: Bug Gym -> Electric Gym
Bianca 3 assaults us as we leave Castelia City. This was Zachary's first attempt at a battle, then again Munna is hardly an opponent at this point. Snivy, Panpour, and Herdier fell victims to Sean, Valeria, and Ernest respectively. A trip back to healing was deemed unnecessary. Then, as we finally manage to exit the big city, Cheren 4 tries to ambush us. One would imagine that Gregory would evolve after taking more than half of Cheren's 4th team, but
no. We kind of have to go back to heal now, but it's just a short trip back.
Whilst the trip to the desert was uneventful as a whole, Ernest began gaining move levels than the rest of the team. Then again, the rest of the team won't get much action after this (for now).
As we finally reach the next city, N 3 tries to take us down. Pfft.
Now, time to prepare a new team for the Gym. First, however, we went all the way back to the museum and get our fossil resurrected. Also, we venture into the Battle Subway just to get some treasure. By the gods, I hope we never have to go in there ever again. There's no Ice Pokémon on sight (what ever happened to buying fresh & delicious Pokémon from a casino?), so we'll have to have some type repeats. One has to draw the line somewhere, however, thus we are left with an incomplete team. Again. Cue the grinding:
Ernest - Lv 31 - Flame Charge, Heat Crash, Rock Smash, Rollout
Earl - Lv 27 - Dig, Metal Claw
Anton - Lv 25 - Smack Down, Pluck
Kyle - Lv 27 - Dig, Assurance
Constance - Lv 27 - Bug Bite, Smack Down, Stealth Rock
It was
so hilarious watching Elesa's Emolgas commit suicide against Stealth Rock. My stock of Fresh Water was severely depleted, however. Zebstrika fell after a single Dig. Granted, it was a Critical Hit, but who cares? Ernest took a break whilst in the Gym. The Amulet Coin and the Eviolite were rotated during battles. This becomes a common practice from now on, so I'll stop mentioning from now on.
After the Gym, only Anton gained a level. The others never came close.

Episode 5: Electric Gym -> Ground Gym
Cheren 5 also beat Elesa and wants to challenge us. He ends up humiliated in front of the Unova Champion (whom I do not respect). As a parenthesis, I hate Fake Out. I. Hate. Fake Out.
I learnt something after this battle. If you kill your partner's Pokémon whilst in a tag battle, you don't get any experience. I clearly remember getting experience after frying Steven's Metang back in Emerald; then again my memory is not that good.
We reach the Cold Storage, and we finally get an Ice Pokémon. She shall serve us well. Clearing the container gives us no level gain, strangely. We then go back and watch the "cutscene" of Clay being outnumbered and having to release his prisoners (the wuss). Since the Gym is now accessible, it's time to change the team, do some (Audino) grinding, and challenge it. Blessed be the Sandile line for being weak to Bug and Fighting. To save some time, I decide against using Maractus and use the traded Petilil instead, but this means something that I could've avoided otherwise…:
Larry - Lv 31 - Bug Bite, Razor Leaf
Velvet - Lv 31 - Icy Wind
Stanley - Lv 31 - Bug Bite
Lillil (traded) - Lv 31 - Giga Drain, Quiver Dance
Ernest - Lv 31 - Flame Charge, Heat Crash, Rock Smash, Rollout
Clay lives up to his name. Only Excadrill survives the first hit, and that's only because, whilst swapping items, I forgot to give Ernest the Charcoal back. And what did it do, you may ask? Hone Claws. Curiously, Excadrill was sent before Palpitoad, making the "leader's last Pokémon" tune even more anti-climactic than it was against the supermodel.
After the Gym, only Ernest gained a level. Barely.
Episode 6: Ground Gym -> Flying Gym
What's with this game's rivals and attacking right after a Gym? Then again, was Bianca 4 any good? Nah…
We venture into the depths of Chargestone Cave where, unsurprisingly, Ernest has a type advantage against almost everything. Trying to keep a balanced (level-wise) team is harder than ever, right? Even with the Lucky Egg, which has been added to the items rotated in the team. We fail to see a Tynamo until we're about to reach the end of the basement. A Quick Ball later, we have a weakling without weaknesses. After everything that can be caught has been caught, we prepate to escape…
N 4 scares us! Ferroseed's Metal Claw almost kills Velvet! But didn't. The shock made her learn Ice Beam and evolve at the same time, so I guess that that was a good thing in the end. We arrive at the other side, and… no Gym!
We have to go ring the bell atop the Celestial Tower; at the very least we get to see some Roswell aliens… or something. I catch 2 Litwicks, one as a battle partner and another one just to hatch eggs; both get C-starting nicknames, of course. At the end, the bell is rang, but the team has no Fly user… so we have to climb back down.
After a long trek that took forever, we finally reach the open Gym. Time to go back, change the team, and grind grind grind. Velvet stays on the team, whilst Anton and Zachary (who gets to evolve) return. Since the Gym is of the Flying Type, and not a single enemy is weak to Fire/Fighting, Ernest is getting a break. It's not something I like doing, but a single Gym/Episode won't hurt him. Besides, we finally get a 6th member! Although… a useless one:
Georgianna
Fuzzles - Lv 35 - Signal Beam, Electroweb, Electro Ball, Thunder Wave
Anton - Lv 35 - Smack Down, Acrobatics
Velvet - Lv 35 - Ice Beam
Zachary - Lv 35 - Foul Play, Swagger
Callidorah - Lv 35 - Will-O-Wisp, Hex
Eustace - Lv 27 - (Benched, holding Exp. Share)
…Do I really have to say anything about this Gym? Let's just say that Electro Ball is… yeah, let's say nothing.
After the Gym, Eustace jumped to level 29. He almost reached 30, but the mark was missed by around 50.
Right after we leave the Gym, N tries to talk to Ernest. Since he's currently unavailable, Georgianna takes the message. And since she adores me, N walks away in frustration.
Will my team be able to survive the treacherous Twist Mountain? Especially without Ernest? Sure it will!
