Pokémon GO

WRT Pawmot it's less the actual walking (I also walk a lot) but just the mental anguish of wasting 25KM on such a nothing species - I typically only buddy legendaries so it's 25km I could be getting a Rayquaza XL candy out of.

Lmao it seems like someone heard me bitching about Pawmi, hopefully if this happens they'll give it a simpler evolution requirement for that day

I'm liking how they now allow up to a week for CD moves to apply when evolving so to not rush doing so during the 3 hour event and allows time to do trades and hope for lucky hundos in the process.

Well, maybe I'll register Kingambit in the GO dex in three years when they give it a community day with more reasonable evolution requirements.

Adding Urshifu to the list of mons I won't be getting in GO any time soon.

Compared to Kingambit:
Cons: 30 mons defeated
Pros: max raid battles count

For me part of the barrier is that I just don't feel like swapping out my buddy anymore now that I have Marshadow.

If you're gonna keep making more and more tedious buddy requirements Niantic/Scopely, at least bite the bullet and let us designate a party of 6 (even 3??) mons.

Damn, there goes the last shred of hope that they'd introduce Max Soup and give us Gigantamax Urshifu.

I knew the odds were miniscule but it's literally the defining thing about Kubfu in the MSG (well... actually I suppose it isn't any more, since it's catchable in ScVi too and can't Gigantamax there). But ugh, how disappointing. They really half-assed this season.

And yeah lmao I'm never going to evolve that either (especially not for the garbage 11/11/13 one I caught), what a ridiculous requirement.

My guess is the GMax form will be a thing later, after the novelty of Urshifu itself wears off, like the Kanto starters or things like Machop -> Machamp.

Niantic (and presumably Scopely) REALLY REALLY like to stretch new content releases as long as they possibly can, and at this point DMax and GMax releases function as double dips on old mons to slow new releases even further.

They've always been advertising the regular version of urshifu since the start of the season, so I always figured they were saving G-Max Urshifu for a future go fest or wild area type event.

Not sure how remote trading is going to work, also wonder trades, but this was my top wishlist item for years to have remote trading. It's been forever in the video game and those of you that may have recalled my earlier days on smogon I used to have an active trade topic in the pre pokemon go days when I was also more active in the video game.

Some strings suggest away to enable/validate someone for a trade, so it might be a condition for certain events or using an item like the Lucky Charm. Being able to do Lucky Trades with Game friends I have in the UK or such would certainly be cool

Kubfu is now tradeable and transferrable to Pokemon Home as of 10am local time this morning (I can personally confirm the former).

Definitely going to be blue chip trade material! Anyone has a Go-origin Urshifu they can touch trade me for the dex entry, please gimme a bell...

Sorry, but I would really like Wimpod myself. Wouldn't complain about Rookidee either but Golisopod is cool

I would agree had there not literally just been an event in which Wimpod had a heightened shiny rate (and yes I know not everyone got one, but it just feels redundant). Plus I'll always go for a new shiny over one already present.

I am surprised it's taken this long for Wimpod to get one though, there's a lot of species who feel overdue. Considering the ever-present focus on Kanto species, Horsea, Magnemite, Growlithe, Caterpie, and Vulpix all feel like glaring omissions. Sandile, too, feels like it should have been the star by now, but I could see them doing it in June next year (instead of Frigibax as might be assumed) to space things out.

Niantic/Scopely giving players a "choice":

Community Day Candidates

We’re bringing back a delightful treat for the final Community Day of the Season with the return of Community Day voting! Your Community Day candidates are Falinx, Turtonator, Eternatus Eternamax form, and Bombirdier!

Keep an eye out for the generic "Catch 7 Pokemon" and "Send 3 Gifts with Stickers" tasks, those can give Wimpod.

I'm inclined to vote Rookidee to add its shiny, but also because of past Poll candidates not getting CD but I believe some got their moves as regular updates (Ninetales Weather Ball) and Rock Slide is NOT a move I want Legacy on Golisopod. I definitely understand wanting a Com Day for its massive candy requirement and possible PvP hunting though.

It's also skewed for me because we don't know what Corv's move actually is (Sky Attack is available and non-Legacy, while Iron Head is Legacy and unmentioned).

How are yall set for go fest global? I've been hoarding ultra balls so I can use nothing but those during the day (mainly because I'm also a pokesleep fiend and have the pokeball++++++++++) and have a zacian picked out to promote to crowned. Don't have a truly great zamazenta candidate yet but we have a raid carpool/caravan planned for the day of.
