reserving skarm

:dp/skarmory:

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Spikes
- Toxic / Taunt
- Roost

Skarmory is a good defensive partner to Tapu Koko. It gives Tapu Koko some Spikes support, letting it get a favorable chance to 2HKO without any boosts on Rillaboom after one Spike is set. It can also click Toxic on Hippowdon, who otherwise beats out CM Koko, and cripple it for the rest of the game. The main reason I put it here was for Kartana, who can kill Tapu Koko if it doesn’t kill it first. After two or three Spikes, Koko can switch in and have a favorable chance to take out Kartana unboosted. Either that, or Kartana faints itself with LO recoil after Thunderbolt, assuming this is a Swords Dance variant. Skarmory can also Body Press on Kartana, threatening it out. It also walls Rillaboom, which can be somewhat tough for Koko to handle, due to it being killed by either Wood Hammer or Grassy Glide. Tapu Koko, in return, can threaten out Skarmory checks for him, such as Zapdos and Hydreigon, who otherwise can take out Skarmory. Together, both are able to overwhelm their checks and form a solid core that beats a majority of the metagame.

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Surging Strikes
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet
- U-turn
Choice Band moistshifu... I mean Urshifu-Rapid-Strike forms a excellent offensive core with Tapu Koko because they are able to break past certain Pokemon and cores with their powerful STAB-moves. To be more specific, Urshifu-Rapid-Strike is able to pressure and force out Tapu Koko’s best checks, Landorus-T, Hippowdon, and Ferrothorn with its strong super-effective STAB moves, Surging Strikes and Close Combat. On the other hand, Tapu Koko's +1/+2 Thunderbolt destroys Urshifu's best checks, Toxapex and Rocky Helmet Corviknight.

Dragonite @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Dual Wingbeat
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
- Roost

CM Koko hates bulky Grounds, Blissey, SpDef Grasses, SpDef Tran, Glowking and Rilla but sets up on Steel/Flyings, Slowbro and Ice Shard. DDNite hates Steel/Flyings, Slowbro and Ice Shard but sets up on bulky Grounds, Blissey, SpDef Grasses, SpDef Tran, Glowking and Rilla. Simple enough. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Ferro can be slightly annoying without Fire Punch on Nite or HP Fire in the game, but even that doesn't take +1 DWBs too well after hazards.

And the winner is... Weavile!! Congrats to t045t3r!!!!
And the next round is

Hydreigon @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 184 HP / 76 SpA / 248 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Earth Power

- Roost

Bulky Hydreigon is a powerhouse in the current metagame thats able to make use of metagame staples like Heatran and Slowking to set up and possibly ravage the opposing team. Its good defensive typing allows it to pivot into the afformentioned Slowking and Heatran and Pults Shadow Ball. That said, what do you think pairs well with it?

:bw/heatran:
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 128 SpD / 128 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power
- Magma Storm
- Taunt
- Toxic

This beautiful magma frog can act as a terrific partner for hydreigon, as it switches on most of the mighty hydra's checks, such as clefable and trapping blissey and toxapex while also spreading poison damage effectively to make hydreigon even more dangerous as a win condition late game, hydreigon can also support heatran by coming into many ground and water type moves to give the setup it needs to tear up the opposing team, so they act as great partners that complement eachother nicely

(btw did you know that vowels are optional in arabic?)

:ss/slowking-galar:

Slowking-Galar @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 80 SpA / 176 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Bomb
- Future Sight

This might be one of the more obvious ones but Slowking Galar and Hydreigon are fantastic partners that covers each other well.Slowking Galar covers for pokemon hydreigon may struggle against especially fairy types like Tapu Koko,Tapu Lele, and Clefable while Hydreigon covers for Heatran a pokemon that is rampant throughout the tier and a pokemon galarian slowking struggles with if it doesn't have earthquake. That fact that both pokemon have reliable forms of recovery and great switch in capabilities for one another make this a very hard core to take down as it's both great defensively and offensively especially if your hydreigon is the nasty plot variant.

clefable

:dp/clefable:

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Aromatherapy
- Thunder Wave

(forgot to do this in a rush sry)

clef is a good defensive partner for hydrei as it absorbs status for hydrei, helps not get rkilled by pult, etc. hydrei struggles with stray statuses like wisp, para tox being the most ubiquitous.

:ss/Tapu Fini:
Tapu Fini @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Moonblast
- Knock Off
- Trick

Tapu Fini can help Hydreigon with special walls such as Blissey, Ferrothorn, and Toxapex so Hydreigon has an easier time to abuse them as setup fodder. Tapu Fini helps also with Weavile and Urshifu-R which are both dangerous and problematic for it. Both can pressue Heatran very effectively. Tapu Fini can also check Volcarona and shuts it down with a tricked Choice Scarf. Hydreigon whereas can relieve some pressure on Tapu Fini with threatening common Pokemon such as Galar Slowking and Slowking. Both are exceptional well partners and appreciate each other and both cover up most of the common Pokemon in the metagame with pressuing them together.

Reserving kartana

Kartana @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Leaf Blade
- Ariel Ace
- Sacred Sword
- Smart Strike

I decided to choose this mon due to it having surprisingly good offensive synergy with hydreigon.Kartana benefits greatly from hydreigon being able to check heatran very well and being able to prevent pult from swapping in while kartana is able to offensively check fairy types while being really fast in order to revenge kill most fast threats such as zera and scarf lele which can really help out hydreigon’s sweep. These two have they’re counters and due to hydreigon providing the dark coverage kartana wants to hit pult with gives me room to run Ariel Ace although not being able to knock off walls can be a pain sometimes but I feel it’s worth it to hit buzzwole as it’s rising in usage and poses quite a bit threat to this core. The only big prominent threat to this core is corvikinght which can be covered up by another teammate.

Going to do my little submissions just cause this is something that benefits this Hydreigon set in the long run.
:ss/dragapult:
Dragapult @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Draco Meteor
- U-turn
- Thunder

Hydreigon pairs really nice with Hydreigon since Dragapult will invites things like Heatran, Corviknight, and Toxapex all of these in which Hydreigon is able to dismantle for Dragapult and enjoys getting brought in from U-turn. This core itself is also to overwhelm Fairy-types like Clefable and Tapu Fini from having to check them and Hydreigon can open up for Dragapult in order to spam Shadow Ball a lot more freely in late games. Dragapult itself is running Thunder here cause the paralysis can be nice to make up for Hydreigons mid Speed tier, while Thunder itself is also able to pressure and pick off weakened Toxapex and Tapu Fini.

And with that submissions cleared it is voting time!!

well well, hi there :afrostar:
I dont feel like copypasting the votes just scroll a bit
The next round is.... Demon Mew!!!!
This is only because Tysonslayer didnt want it and i wanted to piss him off :>

:ss/mew:
Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Cosmic Power
- Stored Power
- Body Press
- Roost

Demon mew, is quite.... demonic. Its incredibly annoying to deal with in the right situation and match up. Why i say match up fish is because of its incredible weakness to Toxic and taunt which can be very annoying since Heatran acts as a great check to it. Also its inability to break anything without multiple boosts, since it can even get walled by Toxapex without enough boosts, with all this said, what do YOU think pairs well with this demonic creature to deal with its weaknesses.

You have 72 hours to submit a partner.
Have fun!!

Edit: Oh shit forgot
Congratulations to Seucra Lockhart for winning this week!!
