We will now begin the voting phase for this week, great job guys
lots of greats submissions like usual keep this up

The voting system used is the Ranked Pairs format (the same as CAP uses). To vote you basically order your options like this: C>B>A>D, like this A>B=C>D, or like this D>C, assuming there are 4 partner options (A, B, C, and D). If you choose not to vote for all partners, the last partner(s) will be assumed to be last and valued equally if more than one got left out. Additionally, don't vote for your own submission. If you have any questions, by all means, ask me.

This Weeks Submissions are:
Partner A :tapu koko: by Katy
Partner B :tapu fini:by VTaxi
Partner C :rillaboom: by t045t3r
Partner D :melmetal: by Abhisdn417
Partner E :zeraora: by Shadesan
Partner F :keldeo: by MoonyLighty

A>C>F=G>E>D=B
E>A=F>G>C>D=B
A>B>F>D>G>C=E
B>A=D>E>G>C=F
With that being said the winner is :tapu koko: by Katy now onto the next round

Round 24
:ss/volcarona:
Volcarona @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 248 HP / 156 Def / 16 SpA / 88 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Quiver Dance
- Flamethrower
- Bug Buzz / Psychic / Safegaurd

- Roost

Decided we started redoing some old mons that we did from the past and who else better to start than Volcarona, this mon has been gaining a lot more attention ever since its resurgence as a wincon during Zamacenta-C meta. Quiver Dance makes it a very strong setup sweeper increasing its Speed and its Special Attack making it scary winconditions for teams that don't have proper answers to it. A great defensive typing and bulk that allows it to check plentiful of OU threats such as Kartana, Kyurem, and Scizor, and a move in Safegaurd preventing from it to get statused against the likes of Blissey and Toxapex. Volcarona is still as strong than ever with the addition of the amazing item of Heavy-Duty Boots preventing it to take damage from hazards. Y'all already know what to do what are some great partners for Volcarona.
You have 72 hours to post a partner, Happy Posting

:SM/tapu fini:
Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald / Whirlpool
- Moonblast
- Taunt
- Nature's Madness

While misty terrain makes flame body useless, it also works as a built-in safeguard allowing volc to use the extra slot for coverage. It also weakens kyurem's draco meteor to the point where volc can take two of them consecutively, bolstering the moth's ability to check it.
Fini also counters the main form of revenge killing for volc, shifu and daunt, while countering its #1 enemy heatran and doing well against ttar and pult.
Scald is a consistent damaging water type attack, but whirlpool has amazing sinergy with taunt + nature's madness. Speaking of, nature's madness is key to this set for its ability to pressure pex and blissey. If you decide to run whirlpool, you can effectively trap and eliminate them.
Fini also appreciates volc's ability to use grass types as setup fodder.
EVs on this set reaches 230, outspeeding everything slower than jolly daunt, which includes pretty much every variant of bulky heatran

:ss/scizor:
Scizor @ Heavy-Duty Boots / Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Sand Tomb
- Knock Off / U-turn
- Roost

Every good Volc team needs something to lure Heatran, and Sand Tomb Scizor is as good as anything since Heatran can switch into Scizor's usual coverage easily. It has the additional advantage of trapping Toxapex so Volcarona may not even need Psychic, and can work as a backup check to Rillaboom if Volcarona gets Knocked and you can't keep hazards off.

Reserving Kartana :blobwizard:
KARTANA
:ss/kartana: + (:volcarona:)
Kartana @ Choice Band
Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Smart Strike
- Leaf Blade
- Sacred Sword
- Knock Off
Kartana :kartana: + Volcarona :volcarona: is always one of my go-to cores when using/playing Hyper/Bulky Offense. CB Kartana :kartana: is a great partner to Bulky Volcarona :volcarona: because they both appreciate each others’ ability to check each others’ checks. Kartana :kartana: can take on priority users like Rillaboom :rillaboom:, Urshifu :urshifu rapid strike:, and Crawdaunt :crawdaunt: (if they use Glide/Jet on the switch-in) attempting to revenge kill Volcarona :volcarona:. Kartana :kartana: can also freely switch-in to Tyranitar :tyranitar:, especially when Safeguard is up. On the other hand, Volcarona :volcarona: can switch in, set-up, and force out Kartana’s :kartana: best checks such as Skarmory :skarmory:, Corviknight :corviknight: and Ferrothorn :ferrothorn:, making them effective partners.

All is well until Heatran comes in.
Hope you have a great day! :blobwizard:

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Choice Band
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Surging Strikes
- Aqua Jet
- U-turn

Pretty simple partner. Takes on Heatran and Blissey easily, while dealing a big chunk to Slowking with U-Turn. Garchomp and Lando-T don't wanna switch in either which are soft checks to Volc. Can U-Turn to get Volc in safely and just wallbreak really well in general. Shifu appreciates Volcs ability to take on stuff like Corviknight, Pex (if Psychic), and Zapdos (if no Para, while soft checking grasses too.

Pair them with FS and you're pretty much golden against a large portion of the meta.

reserving tapu lele

:ss/tapu Lele:
Tapu Lele @ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Moonblast
- Focus Blast
- Psyshock

Tapu Lele and Volcarona pair well with each other because Tapu Lele can bust through Pokemon such as Toxapex and can weaken Heatran for Volcarona with its strong coverage option in Focus Blast. Tapu Lele can also hit Blissey really hard with Psyshock which is Choice Specs-boosted and also gets the boost from its Psychic Terrain. Tapu Lele is a great wallbreaker with its Choice Specs set, as there are not many switchins, which can combat the hard hitting dual STAB options and its coverage. Volcarona can deal with Pokemon such as Rillaboom, Kartana, and Tapu Bulu, which Tapu Lele dislikes, especially Rillaboom and Tapu Bulu because they change up the terrain, and Kartana is an enormous threat to Tapu Lele. Furthermore Tapu Lele has Psychic Terrain, which protects itself and also Volcarona from priority attacks, therefore they both arent threatened by Ice Shard, Aqua Jet, and other priority attacks. Volcarona can also help with Safeguard to protect itself and Tapu Lele from status conditions such as burn, paralysis, and poison. These two make up for great teampartners, as they can threaten a wide portion of the ou metagame and both appreciate each others support a lot.

TankChomp
:Garchomp:

Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Jolly Nature

- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake

- Toxic
- Endure
TankChomp is a fantastic partner for Bulky Volcarona. The two biggest weaknesses for Volc is super effective priority and heatran. Tank chomp does a great job of dealing with both of these things. Comp can switch into any Heatran attack and scare it out with either earthquake or set up free rocks. The main priority we see in this tier that can OHKO Buly Volc is CB Urshifu. With Rocky Helmet + Rough Skin + hazards, Chomp can help chip down most variants of Urshifu. If switched in on a surging strikes, you have virtually killed the urshifu. Also less common priority users such as Lyconrock or Azu don't like Garchomp's chip. The last thing Chomp does well is helping cover the second damaging move Volcarona choses. If Volc uses Psychic to hit Pex, Chomp can switch into threats that Bug Buzz would be useful for such as Ttar. Same situation goes if Volc choses Bug Buzz or Safeguard. Overall, TankChomp is an underrated threat in this metagame, but using it alongside Volc really shows it potential in this tier. I recommend you use it in your future build with volc :)

utility mew

Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 68 Atk / 16 SpA / 108 SpD / 64 Spe
Brave Nature
- Earthquake
- Future Sight
- Soft-Boiled
- Knock Off

this is more of an unconventional partner. as crucial in teambuilding as it is every good volc team needs something to catch heatran off guard, which is what mew usually forces and has the chance to remove heatran with eq. due to the general state of the meta its been completely ignored in building and makes guessing the set more of a chore as it forces an archetype mismatch. allows safeguard volc to sweep pre-emptively and dissuade status, which makes utility mew a decent partner. set is walled by corv as well, which volc can also win against

out of curi 68+ atk has a 75% chance to ohko max hp heatran, 64 speed outspeeds most heatrans above 136 calm and the rest were dumped in bulk.

Great Submissions for this week I was expecting a lot more defensive partners to go along side with it, but
I also like the approach of including Heatran lures for it since its the biggest roadblock to this Volcarona set, good stuff y'all.

:ss/landorus-therian:
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock / Defog
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Toxic / Knock Off

Landorus-T the best mon in the tier and there are many good reasons to why this mon has always been consistent throughout each new generation. An amazing typing giving it important immunities in an Electric and Ground Immunity compiled that with Intimidate decreasing the Attack of phsyical attackers making it function as a great defensive pivot. The versatility in utility it provides for teams functioning as a hazard setter or remover, Knock Off removing crucial items against its checks, Toxic for spreading status, and U-Turn providing momentum and safe switchins for its teammates. This mon has so many sets and can be ran around to do different things depending on what the team needs, but for now we will be looking at the main staple for teams defensive backbone. With all the being said what are some good partners for Defensive Landorus-T?

Reserving Slowking
:bw/slowking:
Slowking @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Sassy Nature
- Scald
- Future Sight
- Slack Off

- Teleport
Slowking :slowking: forms a strong defensive core with Landorus-T :landorus-therian:,as Slowking is able to check prominent special attackers in the tier such as Tapu Lele :tapu lele: and Heatran :heatran:, while Lando-T is able to check physical attackers who threaten Slowking like Garchomp :garchomp: and other Lando-T :landorus-therian:. Additionally, Slowking and Landorus-T have a great type synergy. Slowking covers for both of Lando-T’s weaknesses, Ice and Water, while Lando-T can cover for the Electric- (and possibly even Ground-) type weaknesses of Slowking. Slowking also provides FuturePort support, meaning Dark- or Steel- types (:bisharp:, :hydreigon:, :heatran:) are forced to switch into Lando-T’s U-turn or Earthquake. Both Lando-T and Slowking appreciate a teammate like Heatran :heatran: who is able to deal with stall (:blissey:, :toxapex:) and Volcarona :volcarona:.

tangrowth

:bw/tangrowth:
Tangrowth @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Focus Blast
- Stun Spore

Tnagrowth and Landorus-T are formidable defensive partners, as they are able to check a wide range of Pokemon in the OU tier and current metagame together, most notably physical attackers such as: Rillaboom, Kartana, Urshifu-R, Zeraora, Scizor, Garchomp and also Excadrill, Tyranitar, Aegislash, and Tapu Bulu. Furthermore together they're able to also check other dangerous wallbreakers and pivots such as Tapu Koko, Rotom-W, Tapu Fini, and the Slowtwins, as they're able to pressure these Pokemon consistently and constantly throughout the match. Tangrowth can also paralyze opponents with Stun Spore making it easier for Landorus-T and their teammates to check opposing Pokemon throughout the game. Furthermore Tangrowths amazing defensive pivot potential in tandem with Regenerator make it an amazing partner alongside Landorus-T and Landorus-T is able to pivot out on Pokemon such as Rillaboom and Kartana into Tangrowth to make them better dealable with. Landorus-T and Tangrowth also provide great defensive synergy and with both having Knock Off and / or status-moves in their arsenal they can be annoying to deal with as well. Wehn Landorus-T runs Toxic and Tangrowth runs Stun Spore they're reliable status spreaders as well, for teammates which appreciate threats being statused and it also helps out other teammates notably Dragapult, if it decides to run Hex on its Choice Specs set, heling it to break with ease in the later game. In overall these two are formidable partners and can compress many threats into 2 slots as checks and moreover they're able to annoy the opposition with constant Knock Offs and status spreading. :tangrowth:  :landorus-Therian:

Corviknight

:SM/corviknight:
Corviknight @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 172 Def / 88 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 25 Spe
- Defog
- Roost
- Body Press
- U-turn / Brave Bird

Despite sharing the flying type, Corviknight and Landorus-T don't stack any weaknesses together, making a great partnership that by itself checks the vast majority of physical offense in the OU tier - very much like the aforementioned Tangrowth.
However, Corviknight trades effectiveness against Urshifu-R in effectiveness against Weavile/dark spam in general.

Zeraora, non-mixed Garchomp, Weavile, Bisharp, Excadrill, Rillaboom, Kartana, Dragonite, Melmetal etc: this duo handles them quite nicely.

Furthermore, together they provide top tier stealth rock and defog support, as they are arguably the #1 best at those two tasks.

Of course, Corviknight can be catered more towards special defense to handle tapu lele, dragapult, kyurem, etc or even become a win condition with bulk up. I'm submitting physically defensive defogger corviknight because I think it's by far its most effective and valuable set.

EVs are standard smogon EVs: SpDef takes two psychics from specs lele after rocks, rest in Def to properly handle what it's supposed to. Speed IVs are to be as slow as possible while outspeeding any Blissey; this of course only if you choose to run U-turn. If you want brave bird AND body press just go normal.
Speaking of, roost and defog are staples, body press is mandatory to handle the aforementioned threats, U-turn or bbird to either grab momentum or have a stronger hit on rilla, lele and pult.

reserving tran

When you first look at Landorus, you’re wowed at its 145 base attack, intimidate, rocks, u-turn, everything. You’re also wowed at the fact that it’s x4 weak to ice, meaning that in tandem with it being common, it can be teched by some Pokémon with a decent attacking stat and an ice move, like an Ice Punch Conkeldurr in BW.

This is where Heatran comes in. Looking at Tran, its one of the defensive pillars of the tier. Its amazing defensive type of Fire and Steel has it resist Ice twice, meaning that it’ll be taking negligible damage from an attack that would usually OHKO Landorus. Plus, its typing allows for it to be a great special tank, quad resisting the common Fairy, Grass and Dragon type moves Landorus can take, but wouldn’t want to over the course of an elongated game. Lando in return provides a complete immunity to Ground, Heatran’s biggest weakness, and uses Intimidate to soften up strong physical attacks. Together, they can create an amazing defensive/balanced core when paired with Rillaboom, who weakens the move Earthquake, gives Heatran passive recovery in the form of its grassy terrain acting like leftovers for it, and resists their water weakness.

:bw/heatran: @ :leftovers:
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 120 SpD / 136 Spe
Calm Nature
- Magma Storm
- Taunt
- Toxic / Stealth Rock / Earth Power
- Protect / Earth Power / Stealth Rock / Toxic

This set will work beautifully with Landorus. As a rocker, Lando can now run Defog, and not have to spend another team slot for that. As a Toxic user, it can accelerate the rate at which opponents go down combined with Lando’s knock offs, and u-turns. A specially defensive set allows it to sponge most attacks aimed at Lando, and allows it to set up rocks, push damage with the trapping Magma Storm (which in conjunction with Taunt owns most walls), toxic enemies or try to taunt on the switch to block setup. Overall, this set combined with Landorus can check most forms of offense with the right team support.
