About Glow Punch, I'd guess Fennekin will evolve into something bipedal, because almost all punching moves are learned by bipedal mons (Except the weird cases of Wooper and Gastly. Plus Metagross, but in all fairness you can't really tell if it has hands or feet).
Leave it to gamefreak to make the fourth fire/fighting starter in a row that nobody wanted.

Four-legged starters rarely evolve into bipedal Pokemon. One particular starter sprout wings upon evolution and that is pretty much most drastic.

Glow Punch doesn't have to be taken literally, is Fruit Punch like a fruit punching you in the face?

Also Wooper can punch with its tail and Gastly can like face punch.

There are two exceptions, though: Cyndaquil and Tepig. Also, Oshawott goes the opposite way. And Snivy evolves from bipedal to... um... no-pedal.

Of the 5 quadraped starter lines (Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Turtwig, Mudkip, Tepig) 2 become bipedal. That's just under half. If we count the Cyndaquil line that's a full half.
Either way I wouldn't consider that "rarely"

B
But we saw it
it is literally a punch...

they also evolve into things with arms that can punch, which is probably the reason why they get it (see: same reason that primeape can learn iron tail)

Oh hey, stepping back a couple pages, you know what would be awesome with Fairy-type? Gothitelle.

You know how people used to say CB Close Combat was unheard of in DW OU because of Chandelure? Now imagine Dragon immunity with Shadow Tag.

Fuck you, Kyu-B.

I doubt they were planning that far ahead.
We can never know for sure. In Movie No. 9 (Pokemon Ranger and The Temple of The Sea), there's a point where Team Rocket steals some valuables. Their dialogues go like this:

h1C439BB3

Also, in Season 13, Episode 33 of the Anime, there's a similar instance.

James: Bingo, my favorite bling!
Jessie: Is it Gold, Silver, Platinum?
Meowth: Maybe Rubies or Sapphires? Maybe Diamonds or Pearls with a pull of rocks too.
James: It's not quite Black and White.

In regard to both of those as a rule check out http://dogasu.bulbagarden.net who looks at dub edits and says on both of those.

I thought it's pretty obvious that the lines were dub-only, but just in case...both of Team Rocket's dialogues about "diamonds and pearls" weren't in the Japanese original. A lot of fans seemed to have really liked these fourth wall breaking moments, but I'm not that fond of them. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

and

Originally, Kojirou was telling the Dokukurage to get out of his way. To my knowledge, the idiomatic expression "it's not quite that black and white" doesn't really exist in Japanese, and there wouldn't have been any way to work the English words burakku and howaito into the script without it sounding awkward as hell.

So this is really just the dub using knowledge about the upcoming games that was already announced in Japan, maybe even NA I'm not sure. ( perhaps the Japanese writers may or may not have known before the game announcements, and most certainly didn't intend to have said).

Right that's

well a few things here

#1: By this point both titles had been revealed
#2: That was in the dub. By that point the games had already been released in Japan
#3: Usually when the anime makes allusions or cameos of future generations, it comes towards the end of that series & while said generations are already in development & the anime directors are likely told as much as they can write scripts and such. It's different than "Hey let's not make Gothitelle part Dark because 3 years from now we're going to make a dark/psychic squid."

Well yeah, probably not. But it's definitely one of those things that is obvious but ignored by GF. Like Charizard not being a Dragon (I know, it would affect the balance between the starters). Talking about which, how is the idea for a Hidden Type? For instance, a Hidden Type Gyarados would be Water/Dragon instead of Water/Flying. Once again, this is not for every Pokemon, just selected ones.

Dinesh, it's you vs. three mods right now. Run away for now to convince other readers another day.

Back to being topical now. Froakie's chattering...muttering...empty speech bubble used when fighting Skrelp looks like either another form of Guard Split/Guard Swap or Entrainment/Simple Beam. Skrelp didn't take damage, but the game had a way of recognizing that there was a change in Skrelp's status (by uncharacteristically making him look like he was nudged instead of going through a damaged animation), and it doesn't look like it directly invovled lowering/raising a stat because there was no immediate accompanying stat modification animation.

lol what else would punch mean in that situation.

I'll just use Minimize for now. Hope I can evade the mods' attacks.

About the speech-bubble attack, many people on other sites are saying it's Froakie's signature move. I really don't understand where they got that from, but I too think it's pretty much just Torment. Torment is the only move whose animation involves speech bubbles, right?

It could be a new animation for Yawn? That's the immediate impression I got from the footage, considering how sort of clumped up and cutty that last trailer was its hard to gain any significant traction on a lot of the moves.

Nah, as soon as I saw it I thought that it was Torment. Question is, what's a cute frog doing learning Torment? Well, it gives more evidence as to Froakie being Water/Fighting. Why? Aside from Pansage, only 1 Pokemon learns it from levelling up: Chimchar, a starter Pokemon. (all of this is very far-fetched though so I many just be speaking bollocks)

Torment is also plausible, yeah. I didn't consider it at first because the attack looked much more passive than the most recent animation, which has multiple speech bubbles full of unsettling scribbles.
Usually when they've shown an attack without showing off the name, it's something that already exists. Most of the attack animations in BW2 were the basis for the animations seen so far, and the ones that clearly changed were quite drastic (like Hyper Beam). Torment is certainly possible because speech bubbles are relevant, but since the attack didn't really resemble Torment (besides the use of speech), I'm gonna assume that the first most likely scenario is that the technique is a variation of some off-beat status move already out there, like Torment, Entrainment, or Guard Swap. I think it would be like Entrainment or Guard Swap because Skrelp is both absorbing the speech bubble and taking part in Forakie's attack before his jitter.

That's kinda what I saw, but looking back at the speech bubble-feel Torment makes more sense. Even Taunt could work there, even if it's different than other generations.

Anyway.... Could the animation possibly be Swagger, Taunt,
Both are within the realm of possibility. The technique looks like Froakie is taking a shot at Skrelp, trying to put him off. Any status technique that doesn't simply lower a stat or cause a status affliction is up for speculation.
maybe even Growl?
Highly improbable. Growl will most likely resemble Noble Roar in its animation.

you can tell because skrelp looks so dejected and furious at the world afterwards
It's from Japan, I guess we now know what they consider good acting.
It's kind of a shame that we can't really break down the attack that Clauncher used on Flabébé as well.
Clauncher, how dare you make your use of Crabhammer screamingly obvious. I'm feeling dejected and furious at you now.

Staging and acting, my dear blob, are very important to good animation. Most students spend a semester to a whole year in animation classes learning how to apply it to their game animations.
Which reminds me, looking back at Froakie's ninja hand in this latest trailer, The little selection animations for the starters (Chespin's smile, Fennekin's head-bob and Froakie's jump) were added sometime between last week and the third official trailer.
