Yes yes yes surf is not slow!

It's running speed from my observations.

Also anyone knows where the strength TM in this game is?
 
It's in the Unown Ruins I think.


I just beat Byron and my rival said some stuff. I went to the Library but he's blocking the door.... What do I do ?_?

You don't honestly expect us to believe that do you? Even if there was some kind of game breaking bug in the game I doubt that it would be called Missingno again. Unless Nintendo has a sense of humor and likes to screw with us for playing ROMs.

I'm pretty sure that the map is mostly unchanged, the only thing that changes is the battle tower because there is the battle frontier in its place.
There isn't any other region in this game but Sinnoh. You can visit the Torn World though but I don't think that counts as a new region, it's only a new dungeon/area.
 
I did indeed see a Missingno, or generic glitch. I entered a battle after Pastoria city in the grass, and one showed up. (けつばん) is Missingno. No icon, no bulbasaur's cry, shiny signal (Invisible shiny bulbasaur?)

The game frozen with the last note of the selection noise as if you were going to move the cursor around the menu, but I wasn't able to move after it showed up.

It didn't zero out my save file, but it did do something to make it unreadable, so I had to boot from a backup save file.
 
Hmm, I found a little 'glitch' as well. At Floaroma Meadow, after defeating the two Galactic Grunts, I was just a shadow. I opened up my trainer card, just to 'reset' the screen, and it went back to normal.

Perhaps its just a problem with the game?

Anyway, I still need help with my stupid save file. I can't save, it doesn't appear anywhere. (The .sav file that is)
 
Alright, I think I've got it working. So, the save file is somewhere... I found out because there was an error which restarted the game while I was going to the Underground. And there it was; My save File.

I just don't know what its called...
 
Ok i downloaded platinum earlier today and it was working just fine, i played for about an hour and then i saved my game and quit because i had to go. Then, when i come back, it won't work for some reason :S I select 'Continue' and i get a black screen and the game freezes. Wtf?

Also, it won't work on the flashcart i got today either (pokemon diamond works fine)
 
Wow... Battle Factory is sooo fun.. you get pokes like Infernape, Gyarados and Snorlax there.... but I kinda get pwned because I either get outpredicted ( Aero ( me ) vs Gliscor ( opponent ), I switch to Toxicroak just to get hit by Earthquake ._. ) or I dun know the moves names.
 
I'm gonna play this all day tomorrow and complete the game.

Any idea on what the .sav file is called (exactly) when you save your game on No$GBA?

If the game freezes, or you restart your comp with out closing the emulator first, the save file won't be created. Sorry DBB I did forget that one, but you need to close the emulator after saving to create the save file.

Assuming that you are using your R4 to play the game, could it be possible that it's some kind of copy protection mechanism? I remember reading that if you were playing a pirate copy of some RPG for the DS (FF4 I think) and you arrived at a scene where you boarded a boat then the boat would never reach its destination. That didn't happen on original carts of course but the copy protection was circunvented later as always.

You are playing in an emulator, emulation bugs don't count as glitch of the game. DS emulation is far from perfect and those kind of visual glitches are common in non-perfect emulators.

How weird, that didn't happen to me. I just checked and I can continue my save just fine. You told me that your R4 was new so maybe you are using an old version of the kernel so go to the R4 site and get the latest one (v1.18 is the most recent, it's several months old but the game works fine for me). Don't ask me how to apply the new kernel because there are instructions in the site and it is easy enough to do.
 
Where is Yanma and Gilgar in game? I want to catch them and they are both in the dex, but i don't see any info where they can be caught.
