Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 2 (In-Game Discussion)

Also any word on rotom's typing or we will have to wait till sept. 28?

Despite having visual characteristics of other types (Ice, Water, Flying, Grass and Fire, respectively), they share the original Rotom's Electric- and Ghost-types.

There was also a youtube video posted earlier in this thread.

And on a side note, searching on GTS is somewhat awkward with katakana. Had to look up several Japanese names haha. But I love the new GTS building omg :D

I'd still love to know what the sprite shinies of these looked like... :(

I like the regular versions better.

Al_Alchemist- They are electric ghost.

Leafeon is in the double battle with the Rangers in Route 212 iirc and Gardevoir is held by the Psychic right below you when you enter Victory Road from the South side.

Thanks.. I found themm... but I still forgot one ( I didnt even notice that, lol )... where to fight Togepi's evolution ? ( not Togekiss )!

Togetic is held by the bird catcher in Victory Road. First one you see when you go through it from the South entrance~

Still haven't gotten the answer to this: How do you get the National Dex in Platinum? How many Pokemon do you have to see/get?

I now have the National PokeDex after seeing 210 Pokemon! Professor Rowan and Oak congratulated me for it. Too bad they didn't know I cheated and traded most of the ones I hadn't seen from Diamond and Pearl to Platinum. XD Let's see what having the National Dex unlocks...

There you go jimbo!

We now have full information concerning Rotom's new forms.
Each copy of Platinum comes with a special insert that depicts one of Rotom's new forms, along with sillhouettes of the remaining four. On the insert, players are instructed to activate the game's Mystery Gift feature by entering the phrases "Everyone Happy" and "Wi-Fi Connection" at the Jubilife TV station. Once the feature is activated, the Secret Key can be downloaded either via wi-fi or from a retailer.
After you obtain the Secret Key via the Mystery Gift feature, head off to Eterna Galactic building and talk to the wall. A new room will open. Ensure you have a Rotom in hand, and talk to any of the five appliances inside the room--oven, refrigerator, fan, dish washer, or lawnmower. Rotom will enter the device, change form, and immediately learn a new move. This move will change if you talk to a different device. If you talk to the one you already switched to, Rotom will turn back to normal and its special move will disappear.

Learn a move? Does that mean you get to replace one of the four? If so, when you change it back with the same appliance, it loses a move and has only three.

Yeah
Check Serebii & Coronis' discovery thread. The Rotom stuff is there as well. When you have 4 moves on your Rotom the game will ask if you want to replace a move.

when you enter the union room will the move disappear? if so does it give back the fourth move that was deleted in place of the extra?

EDIT:

how can you talk to it if the device disappears?

no no no no no!!! You mean I can't have Rain Dance, Thunder, Hydro Pump, and Air Slash?!

I liked Staraptor as a key element of my team in Pearl so I didn't have to deal with training up a decent Lucario (as I didn't pick Infernape) and other fighting pokes would waste a slot on the precious six you get. Since Staraptor usually ends up like (BraveBird/CloseCombat/U-turn/Theif or Roost) Is it now completely outclassed by Togekiss with (Airslash/AuraSphere/Filler/Filler) and the fillers can be anything as it has a much more diverse movepool. So for speed purposes, when I get the game, is it best to switch to Togekiss at Pastoria, where I can teach it Aura Sphere?

So do plantinum tutor/new learnable moves transfer over to diamond/pearl; more over do they work on PBR random wi-fi?

I can't comment on the question, but if you have more than 1 DS, or a friend to help...
1. Trade over Egg of Pokemon you kick-ass with in-game for a Starly/Bidoof.
2. Trade over a Lucky Egg for another Starly/Bidoof.
3. Win.
