Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 2 (In-Game Discussion)

You all seem to be forgetting something, Sinnoh is just a region, so it was made at the same time as all the others, and all the others were made at the same time. Thus, it means all games are at the same exact place in time. In the other games, Sinnoh wasn't mentioned because Ash and his friends didn't (in this case, you, the player).

Don't get your hopes up. These are fake.

yeah, that's why I fixed the old post.
Although, I'm still curious as to this Lucario you mentioned, bolt.
Is it a new Evo?

Pokemon XD is an exception to this rule as I believe it was stated that it is about five years after Colosseum.

No, sorry for the confusion. I heard it got an awesome new sprite, I just wanted to check it out.

Well according to what I saw so far, the only animated ones that I remember are Pikachu and Croagunk (I think Giratina also).

Unless there is a "turn off back sprite animation" feature

I'm just waiting for us to ban Garchomp then find out that Sky Shaymin is a full-fledged counter to it. Just for the irony.

I can't wait to see the metagame shift in the wake of this game. What will we see: Extremespeed Garchomp? Elemental Punch Lucario? Slack Off Snorlax? Return of WishBliss? New abilities/moves? I have this gut feeling we'll have some sort of ability tutor. Something is going to get broken, I can just feel it.

And let's not forget that Gold/Silver/Crystal were specifically noted to be 3 years after the events of Red/Blue/Yellow in the box/booklet, so the games don't necessarily all occur at the same time. The regions could have been "created" at the same time probably, but the events of each game happen in their own time frame which can be chronological...

the recent famitsu cover advertised platinum and showed off multiple sprites for the regular sinnoh Pokémon (Snorlax, Piplup) and thee new evos and their families (Jolteon, Lickilicky). However, they also showed 5 unrelated pokemon:
Scyther, Swablu, Houndour, Tropius, Absol
These Pokémon plus their evolutions make 8 pokémon, and there are nine legendaries not included in the Sinnoh dex (eight now since giratina is in), so could these pokémon be the fillers? Think about it, aaron with yanmega/scizor/drapion/heracross/vespiquen, or Flint with a full fire team. in my opinion, it seems very likely.

I heard there might be rotom evolutions from a friend, did anyone else here that?

Also, does anyone know were to find some of the new sprites?
No. That's fake. There are five silhouettes, which have a high chance of being Rotom forms:

However, there's been no confirmation as to what those actually are yet; just information on that scan that they will not be obtainable through normal gameplay and will instead be obtained by using items that will be distributed over Wi-Fi Mystery Gift.

Is it confirmed that shaymin gets serene grace?

I really, really hope it doesnt.
Yeah, pretty sure it was confirmed that Shaymin Sky Forme will have Serene Grace.

Sigh, shaymin sky forme probally will be uber if it has an 80% spdef move and according to info, faster and more spatk than the origional, which proballly means lower defense also. We will see though

Yeah, but doesn't it requre that item to be attached? 80% drop or no, a pokemon that gets no item is going to be at a great disadvantage. >.>

Um, what item? The Glacida Flower is a key item that transforms it. It doesn't need to be attached, if I read correctly.

From what i remember, it is a Key Item that is used the transform it. I wonder if you battle at night or freeze it in battle if it will change back to Land Form. It never said how it goes from Sky to Land form.......

I am not sure I understand this correctly, but if you are saying that Shaymin needs an item to get the 80% drop then no, it has serene grace.
Also if you are saying the Glacidia Flower needs to be attached, no also because its a Key Item.

Sorry if I just misread what you posted and these are all just stuff you know lol.

Oh it's a key item. Ok that's different. Does that mean that wifi players can only use it during their own "day" then? xD

Based on what I saw in the movie (yeah, I went to go see the movie) Shaymin smells the flower, and by taking the flower's pollen in, it transforms. Then at night, it transforms back-- which would be the way to change shaymin back to land form.

We have our first pokemon snorting weeds to get high. xD

No, I think the player is only allowed to make that transition between forms during the day. I don't believe it'll automatically change depending on time of day.

Just telling you how it worked in the movie. I was one of the few idiot young adults who were actually watching it in a theatre filled of crazed Japanese children.

Well nintendo hasn't conformed too much to pokemon anime, it'd kinda suck if it kept changing and snorting all the time.

Has anyone tried to find the rom? I couldn't =/
