Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 2 (In-Game Discussion)

This game looks pretty awesome so far and, I can't wait until this comes out:) Also Giratinas' base stats, imo, are better than the original Giratina, higher attack, which will probably make it more of a threat in Ubers.
 
Actually it's loling at 127 base speed:) anyway, with its' weakened defenses, now it probably will be a frail sweeper in whatever tier it gets placed into.
 
It's nice to see Rotom turning out as we'd imagined. Its new stats are reasonable given the circumstances: Rotom is climbing into machines and driving them around like tanks! The concept is fun, well illustrated, and potentially viable in competition. Well done, Game Freak!

Now to wait while everybody slugs through the storyline to get to the good stuff.

It is not lol'ing at itself. It is loling at base 125 speed tiers.

Still has 100 base HP. could make a significant difference.

Will play through later .
 
I can just imagine that the Appliances would have other special moves.

Frotom would have something like Sheer Cold, Rotoast would get Lava Plume, Fantom gets Whirlwind, Clothom gets Rapid Spin (Spin cycles lol) and Mowtom gets Grass Knot.

either way, someone must make an 'omnomnom' of Mowtom, NAO.
 
Are the new Rotom appliances all Ghost/Electric with their new moves, or do they actually get the different dual types added to their original ghost type?

I haven't added that to the front until there is more proof cause Arty2 said it might be some hidden variables in the data that change the type and ability

Battle compatibility is the real question at hand. Of course, the only issue arises from the presence of the alternate forms, so we will have to wait until someone catches Giratina to do the experiment.

But in the meantime, local battles using one of the cup rule sets should be checked.

The less speed of the new Rotom forms (it no longer beats Hitmonlee) in exchange for better defenses will affect UU quite significantly as Rotom's ability to stop various threats in UU will either be improved or reduced.

I was anticipating Sky Forme Shaymin, and like everyone else, I predicted high OU for sure. But these stats....are crazy. Woohoo for Shaymin finally getting the attention she deserves.






What is Giratina Origin Forme's typing? Is it the same?
 
Where can you find these new moves that the pokes are getting?

EDIT: More than likely they've kept the same typing on Giratinas' origin form.

I met "handsome." That guy's a real idiot. He's first introduced as "ayashii hito" (suspicious person).

In English, what he said basically was (remembering):

Hikari: What's that person doing?

Suspicious person: Ah! How did you know I was an international policeman!?

Hikari: I was just talking normally but . . .

Suspicious person: What!? You were just talking to me normally!? No no, you must have felt there was something special about that person! Anyway now that my identity has already been revealed, I might as well introduce myself. My name is . . . no I can't tell you that! My code name is . . .

Hikari & main character: . . .

Suspicious person: My code name is Handsome! Everyone calls me that! Now kids, do you know about "stealing"? It means to take things that don't belong to you.

(I'm not making up how stupid this guy is)

player: yes

Handsome: Do you think stealing is a bad thing?

player: yes

Handsome: That's right. The truth is, that I've heard knews of bad people trying to take other people's pokemon! If you hear anything about this, tell me!! *runs off*
