SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Cinderace is better than Greninja?? More Attack than Gren has special attack, more bulk, high base power and great coverage moves. Wow.

Yung Dramps

awesome gaming
Waiting on Move stats. But Rapid Spin is now 50 Power and Multi-Attack is now 120 Power.
SILVALLY GOT A FUCKING BUFF. OH MY GOD YES YES YES YES THIS IS AMAZING ALREADY. HAVE ANY OTHER OLD MONS GOT BUFFS WE KNOW OF??? IM SO HAPPY FUCKING YES

Anyways, other thoughts on stuff revealed thus far

-King's Shield got nerfed too? Man, Aegislash might actually be suitable for OU!

-Hold on a second...

"Clangorous Soul The user raises all its stats by using some of its HP. "

Clangorous Soul? That sounds like Clangorous Soulblaze. Is this a new signature move for Kommo-o as compensation for losing Clangorous Soulblaze???

-New non-Tapu terrain users? That sounds super fun! And the Grassy Surge user is Rillaboom... GROOKEY GANG SUPREME!!!!!!

-Speaking of starters, hot damn Cinderace sounds strong with a Protean clone. Watch out for the rabbit!

On god, I'm loving the quality of life/competitive changes we've seen so far. This stuff's all extremely cool!

I know everybody is excited for all the new stuff, but I just wanted to note that Spectral Thief's effect remains unchanged: "Spectral Thief--The user hides in the target’s shadow, steals the target’s stat boosts, and then attacks."

After last gen's nerf to Dark Void, I was worried that if Marshadow made it in they would nerf spectral thief to apply the stat boosts after attacking, making it much less effective. Fortunately (from my perspective at least!) that's not the case, and Marshadow will continue to put pressure on set-up sweepers in Ubers.

Hydreigon is weak to Dragon :/
Whoops, meant Bisharp, not Hydreigon.

That special defense. Yikes. No singles-oriented ability hurts it as well.

I wonder if Frosmoth with Ice Scales and Assault Vest would maybe have some hopes of surviving a fire move. Wasn't there a GMax move that set up Aurora Veil or something too? Lapras maybe? I can't recall...

65 Speed is very sad but it might be salvageable if it gets QD and a good moveset.

Technician Hitmontop gets a new toy in what is essentially a 75 Base Power Rapid Spin that boost Speed. Holy moly.
aren't technitop's best moves priority though? I'm not sure how important the speed boost will be.

Also, is Multi-Attack confirmed to be 120 BP? That'd be a fantastic buff to silvally since one of its biggest issues was how weak it was. It could also open up the possibility of it learning other strong moves like Earthquake. Its also stronger than Judgement now, which is kinda funny.

It actually does gets Quiver Dance... at least that what I saw on the leaks thread xD

By the way, we can safely assume that Boss Eternatus is going to be banned in BH, right?

Because MOVE ASIDE Huge Power Slaking, 255/250/250 defenses are... well... what they are.

252+ Atk Choice Band Huge Power Slaking Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Eternatus-2: 370-436 (56.8 - 66.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Eternamax form Eternatus isn't usable.

The move that consumes your held berry and raises defence seems interesting. Hopefully it's not Greedunt only.

Umm...both pokemon being hit with yawn status is a big deal. It forces then to switch, try and set up misty terrain, or suffer sleep. Meanwhile your partner pokemon has free reign to do whatever, and grimmsnarl can just use max snooze on whatever switches in.
True. But there are readily available counters to this. I can just Dynamax my poke with a fairy move and set up a Misty Terrain. I’m sure it’ll see play, I just can’t be sure you’ll want to run it over any other Dynamax or Gigantamax.

  • use it on the last turn of dynamax
  • you're not being damaged or being set up on yourself lol
  • trapping = free switch
Unless you are talking doubles, you really wouldn’t want to switch out your gigmax Pokémon till it runs out of turns.

it can't be caught in the games apparently, so I don't think it's worth considering for showdown or any other format

Dragapult is going to be an offensive juggernaut. DD, CB, and mixed are going to be amazing. I'm particularly interested in DD and CB. Clear body still seems like the best nature, overall. 75 defense stats are definitely a major drawback though.

When you realize they literally removed actual moves from the game besides Z-moves... Did they cut abilities too? I assume at least all the ones of the Pokemon that aren't in theh game anymore

So... I see conditions for Toxel to evolve into Toxtricity. Is it gender-based, as assumed?

Also, Toxel is in the Undiscovered Egg Group. Sounds like a gift.
