SPOILERS! Pokemon Sword and Shield Datamine Thread

Something not previously mentioned: Inteleon's signature Snipe Shot doesn't just ignore redirection, it also gets +1 criticals to better play into its Sniper HA after that releases. If you can find time to set up Focus Energy, it becomes 100% criticals without needing to hold Scope Lens, so you can use the item slot for something else.

Based on their NATURES? That's... weird, to say the least. So which Natures yield each form?

But well, there goes a new reason to breed for Natures instead of using Mints.

Amped: Hardy, Brave, Adamant, Naughty, Docile, Impish, Lax, Hasty, Jolly, Naive, Rash, Sassy, Quirky.
Low Key: Lonely, Bold, Relaxed, Timid, Serious, Modest, Mild, Quiet, Bashful, Calm, Gentle, Careful.

There is still some testing to be done, but seems that this is the definitive answer

Going with the nature names, outside of Bold yielding Low Key and Docile yielding Amped, the more expressive natures cause an Amped Toxtricity and the calmer ones create Low Key ones.

The choices seem to make sense.

That makes him feel less pointless with his HA at least.

Still, was hoping for something more... chameleony than this, it feels really out of place.

There are sprites so it's likely you can transport the Alolans into Galar; whenever you can get them some time in the game is unknown but extremely unlikely
I know the sprites are in, but have functioning models been found? Sprites could be leftovers from importing Kanto forms

Well, at least in this case it's basically a 50/50.

Another thing: Do we know for absolute certain the Alolan forms of certain returning Kanto Pokemon are usable?
Their models, data and learnset is in the game and functional, but there's no spawn for them.

This means that (unless there's some "traders" like the one in Let's Go) they're very likely to not be available until Home goes around.

Same can be said for base forms of Galar variants.

I think you'll be able to transfer them but not get them naturally in-game. Looking at Vulpix/Ninetales: for random encounters it only shows up under the "intense sun" condition. For max raids all instances drop fire TRs as rewards. So I think it's a fair assumption that all encounterable Vulpix/Ninetales will be the Kanto variant.

Perhaps there will be a "Tourist" variant of trainer, like in Alola, that uses the Alolan forms in battle?

I think the biggest thing we need to know is whether the Ripen ability doubles the damage effect of Rowap and Jaboca berries, which would mean the opponent would take 1/4 of their max HP as damage when the berry activates. That makes the Apple Pie a literal walking entry hazard that can be switched in at will....
There's probably better ways to use Appletun, but it's certainly a sweet idea, pardon the pun.

I don't know about the models, but another things to note about the Alolan forms is that they have dex entries. I don't think GF would go all the way to keep their sprites and have the entries localized if they are not going to be obtainable (considering they scraped data for other forms such as Ultra Necrozma and Partner Pikachu/Eevee). We'll probably have to wait for Home to transfer them though.

Several of them even have updated learnsets, which further proves that they're meant to be in the game.

So obviously the Tapus dominated last gen with their abilities, so how do we feel about our four new terrain setters: G-Weezing (Misty Surge), Indeedee (Psychic Surge), Rillaboom (Grassy Surge), and Pincurchin (Electric Surge)?

I wouldn’t say it was just because of their abilities that the Tapus did well last gen. It was a combination of that and their personal traits that made them succeed, which I don’t see being nearly as much of a factor as with these new setters. Best one so far seems to be Rillaboom which is closer to Tapu Bulu than the other setters are to their respective Tapus, although Galarian Weezing doesn’t seem all that bad either since it’s a PhysDef mon that can weaken the many Dragons in the meta with Will-o-Wisp, and it does get Pain Split via egg moves for some form of recovery unlike Fini which didn’t even have that iirc. Thing is, from my experience on the Nexus server, Levitate is so good on it to help it check Ground-types and Pokemon that use Ground-type coverage, giving it only Steel and Psychic weaknesses which aren’t super common at this point.

Not sure about the other two, tbh. Not enough experience seeing or using them.

Well this time the abilities are on Pokemon that aren't backed by high BST or stupidly good typings, and there's still the factor that terrains can be set by Gigamax too.

I'm kind of annoyed that Grassy Surge is going to be available MUCH later than the other 3.

Galar Weezing suddently has 3 solid abilities to use too, and all 3 have some sort of viability.

As others have said, I think the Tapus weren't good just because of the terrains. They all had very good stats, typings, and movepools, while these newer setters don't have nearly the same luxury of all that. I didn't play much of the previous generation, so I'm unsure if the terrains alone would make using something like Indeedee or Pincurchin worth using in higher tier play. I suppose it would depend on the kind of team you're trying to use and how much said team would benefit from terrains.

The Tapus were good primarily because their own capabilities were hugely buffed by their terrains. Tapu Fini was a status-immune wall, and the other three's terrains gave them unparalleled offensive strength. A lot like OU versions of XY Kyogre, really.

Sorry if this was misinterpreted, but I never once implied that the abilities of the Tapus were the only reason for their domination. I said "they dominated WITH their abilities" meaning it was one of their tools for success. Sorry if that wasn't clear.
