I agree with Alch's post far, far above. But it's still great (just not as great as the great previous great greatness that greatly ensued from this great thread of the great Fate)
 
Hey thanks for the feedback guys.

I appreciate that my work now is not as 'clean' as what you're used to, but quite frankly I was getting sick of the stuff I was doing previously. I think some change is good and that what I'm drawing now has much more personality and fluidity than my previous efforts, and hopefully you agree.

I'm still experimenting, so don't be so quick to judge my efforts now by comparing it with what I was doing a few weeks ago. My underlying concepts and lineart are still the same, it's just now I'm giving some hitherto hidden aspects a chance to shine, rather than having them hidden by some stale techniques.

also the lines on kabuto and tux were wobbly and unsmooth cos i suck major balls at tracing, so there

I totally agree, the sort of stuff going on before was totally not my style: way to clean. but man this thing could use just a bit of work I mean the stuff around its front left claw is really good stuff, but the sort of lines around its wing isn't that great

if you're doing this you need to have fluent, expressive lines or a several small ones

also that sketchy shading style isn't my favourite but that's just me
 
It's grown on me-initially I didn't like the new style (and there's still something slightly off about the eyes IMO), but could I request it in avatar form with the normal cyan coloration? It actually looks kind of nice...
 
Scylar looks much neater than your other tablet works, and I could actually get into that sort of style. If you keep practicing, Fate, that tablet could make many more of your greatest pieces.

edit: Am I the only one who thinks that Scylar looks like a fusion of Ledyba and Kabuto?
 
Oh man that Syclar is great! It's just my favorite of all the prevo CAPs, I guess. It's so cute and turns so vicious prolly.

"Standard oh man you get too many requests but please draw a Shroomish(edit: smoking a pipe) anyway" post. It would be much appreciated!
 
I'm a big fan of sketchy shading, but I'm also a big fine of crisp lines.

I understand that you're still experimenting though. I'd suggest a bit more contrast in the shading though.

I apologise for the cynicism, I'm just trying to help.
 
Once upon a time (or not so long ago...), a curious user named nicknamed A.G. searched the forums, in hopes of finding ways to make certain Pokemon viable. He filed numerous threads for a long time, and while he had just a spark of success, he found something interesting.

What this? A Blissey with sunglasses, a tuxedo, and a gun? Interesting. And he scans the page only to find the words...

A.G. continued on his search for strategies and gimmicks alike, and then what happened? He found more avatar with the same styles And yet he still had yet to believe his suspicions.

So he went to the art thread, where he's never posted before. A quick swish of the eyes: "Art Thread of Fate". A.G. hesitates...and then clicked on the thread link.

And now he is pleasantly surprised, to say the least. And he realized something!

"...I should stop making super long posts."

So, wow, um...I never knew you made art, Fatecrashers! It took me that LONG to figure it out, I know. And obviously, I am pleasantly surprised at the number of artworks you made.

also yeah i wasnt really happy with that syclar, so i went and did it again

cuteness factor up!

its still kinda messy i think :/

Kabuto don't take no s*** bro. ^_^ Love the texture of the Kabuto, the defined lines make it look much more jagged and rock-like to reflect its typing perfectly. The sketchiness of the Syclar works very welll; even though it's messy, it has a cute factor that can't be rivalled. Spheal is kind of odd, but it's still a cute blob of blubber. Please make more art in your new style!

Have you switched to tablet? Because the exact same thing happened when I did, lines become so difficult >.<

Try using a proper brush for your shading, might improve the quality a bit.
 
1) the new Scylar looks so bashful and timid... D'AWWWWW

2) Pyroak is a freaking boss. i like how when ur thread needed moar cap, u gave it.
 
a splashscreen for optimusje's youtube vids or something

please tell me if the size or colour is inadequate and i will change it for you :toast:
