Lol am I the only one who uses scarfmence? I love the thing to death and it outspeeds your raticate lol.

Salamence@choice scarf
Lonely
140 speed, 252 sp. attack, 120 attack,
~Draco Meteor
~Stone Edge
~Earthquake
~Fire Blast

gets pretty nice coverage and makes a sexy revenge killer with stab draco meteor resisted by one type, which is taken care of by fire blast. hits 407 speed to outspeed those who want to outspeed scarfcross.

this has probably been made already, or at least something similar. whatever, I still love the thing to bits.

yeah, well this is scarfmixmence, so there. The thing is, when I see salamence, I look at those offensive stats and think, well, if I go all physical then I may as well do garchomp, and if I go all special I may as well do alakazam. yes, I know that salamence has a better special movepool than zam...I don't want to hear it. I just see salamence and it seems like a crime to not go mixed, and scarfmence just catches so many people by surprise. also, some credit goes to ultimatefreshness for helping me come up with it, it was a collaberative effort on shoddy to make my team better lol...

yeah, well this is scarfmixmence, so there.

Lol. Soon we're going to have Scarfmegamixhydropumpmence.

Name: ChainGyara (yeah right)
Gyarados@Life Orb
Lonely (Intimidate)
60 Atk, 252 SpAtk, 198 Spd
-Dragon Dance
-Stone Edge
-Hydro Pump
-HP Bug / Ice Beam

Lol. Stone Edge 1HKOs other BulkyMence after 1 Dragon Dance. Hydro Pump 1HKOs Gliscor, Hippowdon, Donphan etc. HP Bug 2HKOs Celebi and Tangrowth, while Ice Beam one hits the dragons. This set is in the lul.

A mixed Gyarados set is indeed viable, although not with the above mentioned moveset or evs, Hippowdon, Donphan and Gliscor already fear coming into Gyarados as they are all beaten by STAB super effective Waterfall, Celebi and Tangrowth are counters and although Hp Bug 2hkos, Fire Blast would be way more effective against these pokes. Below is a mixed Gyarados set i've tried for a while with mixed results.

Gyarados (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 154 Atk / 176 Spd / 176 SAtk
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Thunder / Fire Blast
- Ice Fang / Earthquake / Fire Blast

Enough evs in speed to outspeed Max speed Timid Magnezone, as well as Adamant Breloom and Metagross, with one Dragon Dance it will hit 363 speed, surpassing the base 115s like Starmie and Raikou. Waterfall and Dragon Dance are fairly standard but with the rest of the movepool is where it gets interesting.
Thunder is a great move against most of Gyarados' counters who are primarly its fellow water types

OHKO on any Gyarados
252 Hp / 0 Sdef Slowbro 58-70%
252 Hp / 0 Sdef Vaporeon 43-52%

Other notable calcs:

252 Hp / 0 Sdef Forretress 42-49%
252 Hp / 0 Sdef Skarmory 77-90%

So as you can see Thunder is indeed a fairly decent move on Gyarados.
Fire Blast is listed as it helps you more with the Grass types that may hinder Gyarados as well as scoring the same damage on Skarmory as Thunder as well as OHKOing Forretess.

Calcs for Gyarados' main grass type counters are listed below:

252 Hp / 0 Sdef Celebi 49-59%
252 Hp / 0 Sdef Tangrowth 82-96%

Other notable Calcs:

252 Hp / 0 Sdef Breloom 90-100%
252 Hp / 0 Sdef Magnezone 61 - 72%
(Neutral Natured) 252 Hp / 128 Sdef Bronzong 45-53%

so Fire Blast does have its merits over Thunder, and it is possible to use both on one set although unadvisable as it would probaly be best to have another move running off of the boosts from Gyarados' Dragon Dance, which move you use is entirely up to you, you should already know the benefits of one over the other.

Shedinja @ Focus Sash
Title: Baton Passer
Nature: Lonely/Naughty/Mild/Rash
EVs: 252 ATK/6 SpATK/252 Spd
Moves:
Baton Pass
Harden/Will-O-Wisp/Toxic/Double Team (If it's allowed)
Metal Claw
Silver Wind

I'm sure everyone gets the idea.

What exactly is it BPing? DT? Metal Claw/Silver Wind boost which has like a 10% chance of activating?

I remember us discussing ScarfMence on Shoddy, personally I think it's great ;D

EDIT:
Me First is for Draco Meteors.
Who the hell Draco Meteors a Raticate?

Ninetales@Focus Sash
252 Spd/252 Sp.Atk/6 HP.
Grudge
Fire Blast
Hypnosis
Will-o-wisp.

If you're faster than the opponent,or they can OHKO you(excepting Sandstorm Pokemon) stay in and Hypnosis them. They'll switch out to probably a Sp.Attacker/Sp.Wall like Blissey/Salamence.Will-o-wisp on the switch. They'll probably think they've outsamrted you. So now put the icing on the cake. When they try to take you out Grudge their last attack away then bring in something that resists their only other attack and sweep away.

No comments? D;

If you're faster than the opponent,or they can OHKO you(excepting Sandstorm Pokemon) stay in and Hypnosis them. Which is not a guarateed due to accuracy. They'll switch out to probably a Sp.Attacker/Sp.Wall like Blissey/Salamence.Will-o-wisp on the switch. Again which has no guarantee due to accuracy. They'll probably think they've outsamrted you. So now put the icing on the cake. When they try to take you out Grudge their last attack away then bring in something that resists their only other attack and sweep away. This assumes a) that they kill Ninetales with a low PP move b) they are only running two attacks. Neither of which is guaranteed.

Honestly it just seems far too situational/unreliable to have any sort of consistent usage and warrant a team slot ... at least for me.

Yay! Xaio has something to contribute!

"It's superer effective!"

Feraligatr@ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 212 HP/56 Atk/140 SDef/100 Def
Adamant nature
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Shadow Claw
- Brick Break

Although it lacks, well, all kind's of things, this baby hits 14 of the 17 types super effective. Eat it, electivire!

I made this to be paired specifically with something like ninjask, because he needs a lot of speed boosts to become truly worth-while.

Come on, original movepool thread, rip him to shreads!

Why such defensive EV's with an offensive moveset and nature? If you want to get a strong sweep off him by BPing speed from Ninjask, I think max attack would be better, as well as some speed so he can hit the right number after just two speed boost passes. Also a more offensive item would probably be better in this situation. Expert Belt is great since you hit 14 types thats more than 4/5 of the types. How about this:

Feraligatr@ Expert Belt/Life Orb/Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 212 HP/252Atk/40Spd
Adamant nature
- Ice Punch
- Earthquake
- Shadow Claw
- Brick Break

Max attack, EV's give it 202 Spd so 404 after an agility (two speed boosts) which is just enough to outrun ScarfHera, and the rest in HP giving just enough for perfect leftovers recovery.

Now, I feel it only right to warn you, what you see below will cause uncontrollable laughter. I implore you, please don't knock it until you've read it. After you've read it, feel free to knock.

Luvdisc @ Muscle Band
Adamant (+Atk, - Sp. Atk)
EVs: 252 Atk, 252 Spd, ? HP*
Swagger
Substitute
Flail
Psych Up

The idea here is: Swagger, hope opponent hurts self in confusion. Sub up. Keep subbing up as necessary, and use Psych up when opponent hurts self. Once you've subbed down to 1 HP, Flail away with your Psyched Up Swaggers.

*I have no idea how to put the EVs so you get an HP number by which 4 subs brings it to 1 HP. Any help?

^salac berry would help on this.

dude, props for using a fuckin luvdisc, but it gets walled by skarm, dusknoir, gengar...too many common pokemon.

@Shiny Oddish - Why do people use Hypnosis on Frail Scarf-Gar, I don't know! Maybe for the fact that it sleeps things? After that since openers USUALLY don't have Sleep Talk you can Will-o-Wisp the opponent. Then they'll get annoyed and try to take you down, with something like Blissey. Grudge it Seismic Tosses. Switch in Charizard, Substitute, Belly Drum,Salac Berry activate, sweep much?

POW GG. Sounds like a great strategy on paper, BUT does it work? Have you tested this set it seems like a cool way to pull off sweeps lol,

I kinda wanted to go for something bulky, but this is way better.

yeah, freshness does crap like that. he takes your ideas and makes them better, as I said, he helped with scarfmixmence.

damn you, childproof >.>

Um. I don't get it. What's the difference at all what so ever. You interchanged one move for another that really had no important effect?

Would this work?

Xatu@ Leftovers
Ability: Early Bird
Modest Nature
196 HP / 88 SpDef / 44 SpAtk / 180 Spd
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Grass Knot
- Roost
The EVs give him 320 HP/297 SpDef/397 SpAtk/271 Spd after a Calm Mind. Psychic OHKOs Heracross after a Calm Mind. Roost to recover HP. Grass Knot for Bulky Waters.
