Okay, so one last thing before we get this thread back on track, that should go without saying, but has been happening. Do NOT make teams for Ubers out of just testing subjects! Make good teams, that are actually what would be considered standard and solid. If you do this the results are not at all valid, and will basically be invalid. Also, have others test the Pokemon as well as you!

Katherine is 100% correct, I've run into so many times of just OU and UUs that it is getting a little crazy. Make a team that uses the pokemon in it, not a team of a bunch of non-uber pokemon you THINK work well. Theorymon has the right idea, base a team around a specific pokemon; this is how he managed to get Jumpluff and Lucario used so frequently in the Uber tier.

Modest is an option to seal the deal on the OHKO against Kyogre, but you really want this grass type to have as much speed as possible. As you can see, it's meant to revenge kill Kyogre/Groudon with it's powerful Leaf Storms. Wobuffet takes it down if it catches you locked into the -2 Leaf Storm, but what does it not in that situation. If you lead with it, you can hit Deo-E with a shadow ball as it taunts, then finish it off with it only have gotten SR up. Speaking of Deoxys, this is decent to revenge Choice Specs Deo-A with aswell. Shadow Ball hits quite a few ubers for super effective damage, so you can use this set to revenge kill weakened Psychics. Hidden Power Fire is if your opponent thinks he can switch Forretress or Scizor into your Leaf Storms, punish them accordingly. HP Ice is also an option, it will allow you to revenge kill a Rayquaza locked into Outrage (after you lose one of your team members, you bad player, you!) The main reason I am running this, is because it frees Darkrai up a spot and allows it to run Dark Pulse/Focus Blast on the sub-salac set. So your Darkrai isn't a sleep slave..

Decent coverage, a reliable sleep move, ability to switch into weaker special attacks (Choice Scarf Mewtwo's Aura Sphere is a 4HKO), and the speed that only choice scarf could provide to base 90s. It's worked out so far in my battles, but somone else could try this and give us their thoughts aswell.

You said it was a failure, so I don't think there's much else to say. I don't think Vaporeon works too well in Ubers. Quagsire and Parasect do a better job.

And Thorns, based on your Battle Logs and some of the points you've made, I think Exeggutor does a pretty good job in the Uber Tier. I'd like to try it out for myself.

I will post log later but this has been successful with Wobbufet support. Dragon / Fire is good coverage. The reason being is hitting Giratina and Rayquaza is a must which would probably be the opponents best instinct to switch out to them. The standard set is Fire Punch / Earthquake. Jolly + Salac gives you enough speed for more safety, although i never tried adamant yet. This set I would imagine would be much more dominant with Groudon support. I will try to attempt that but so far I pulled off 2 belly drum sweeps out of 3-4 battles.

The problem with that set is Lucario, Scizor (with Quick Attack) and all Rayquaza will defeat it. Since being at 25% really hurts you. Also due to Kyogre your STAB is cut in half. I don't see how Belly Drum Charizard would work. Stealth Rock is everywhere and Origin is becoming more and more popular, making it more difficult (or impossible) to spin rocks away. Meaning that Charizard could be at 1% so that the odd Tyranitar can switch in and cause you to have ruined your sweep.

And my last point for the moment is as follows.

Nearly any set-up sweeper can work well with Wobbuffet support. Only post a sweeping set if it actually does well on its own, not after the opponent is at -1 Atk and Encored! SD Rayquaza is amazing with Wobbufett support, but it can also come in on some attacks and set up without it.

Honestly...Belly Drum Charizard? How will you set up with SR floating about? Have you considered the fact that +6 Dragon Claw WON'T OHKO Giratina? Have you taken Kyogre into account (when Rain literally shuts it down and Charizard won't even OHKO Blissey)? Have you taken Rayquaza into account (in both sweeping power and the ability to end your set with ExtremeSpeed)? As others have stated, it has a miniscule chance of sweeping.

....Start learning about the metagame first. Play in it, and look through Doug's amazing statistics. If you people are under the impression that anything works in the Uber metagame, your mentality must've been twisted. If you feel that your set is wrongly judged, back it up with logs. We can then analyze your logs and see if they prove your set works or not.

Really, the biggest problem in this thread is the people. No matter how many times we say "Test before you suggest." or "Don't post unless you know what you're talking about.", it doesn't get through to people. No offense to those who this applies to, but a lot of people who have posted sets in this thread have no idea what they're talking about. Though I like things like this, where just about anybody is allowed to contribute, I think Project Uber should be done differently. I think there should be approved Testers, who know what they're talking about and just didn't say "Hey, let me go suggest BellyZard in Project Uber!". This thread is cluttered with sets that don't work, posted by people who don't have enough knowledge about Ubers, or any knowledge of the tier at all. I suggest fixing this, one way or another.


Also Thorns, do you mind posting the Exeggutor set you're testing? I searched around but I couldn't seem to find it posted in the thread anywhere. I'd like to test it out for myself.

I'm really sorry that I haven't reported anything on Kingdra. I haven't had shoddy access in over a week (still don't have it, hoping it's today or tomorrow). After I'm back in order I'll start mashing for some logs. I'm really unsure that Dragon Dance is all that effective because there's literally no time to get in DD, but I'll have some surefire results soon.

And concerning the bad sets, it's really just a scramble to participate. It's pretty cool to be involved with a project (especially one that can impact the tier), so they'll take any option available.

And I'm just going to echo my interest in Floatzel one more time, in case anybody once to get a jump on it (I will after Kingdra). Huge speed with Swift Swim (literally no investment is needed to beat the ever common scarfers), and the attack stats outdo Kingdra's, although he lacks Dragon STAB. Might have moveset issues, but the potential IS there.

Okay I know the rules but I'm posting anyway even though this "set" hasn't been tested by me.

Special Shiftry has already been shown to be effective in ubers. However with Platinum move tutors he has gained excellent physical stab with Sucker Punch and Seed Bomb.

However I don't play Ubers so I would rather just like to call to your attention that purely physical is now quite viable. I don't know exactly which moves would be useful for Ubers but Sucker Punch and Expolsion are prabably what people want on a standard set

The unfortunate problem with Physical Shiftry is that Giritana wall it (willowisp, so sucker punch won't affect). I'm kinda under the impression that special works better, but I may be wrong as I haven't tested either.

And Sucker Punch also means being set-up fodder for some pokemon if you mispredict use of Sucker Punch badly. It would love much, but much more addition of Crunch or Night Slash for not risking prediction on something as frail as Shiftry, especially in Ubers. I tested both version (before those tests) and special version ironically is much better. And Explosion still kills Blissey, so it doesn't make any difference. The only advantage physical version has over special is ability to kill 252 HP Dialga with +2 Explosion, which walls Shiftry pretty badly, both versions. So yeah, I recommend using special version ;).

But I stumbled on this post too, though I'd forego Light Screen personally.

I run a 252 HP / 62 Def / 196 SpD Forretress with a Careful nature, which is pretty much needed due to it's average SpD. I also run it alongside Light Screen which gives it a nice jump on anything from Darkrai to Mewtwo's lacking a fire move. Light Screen / Explosion / Toxic Spikes / Rapid Spin or Spikes is the entire set I use. As of now I run Rapid Spin however Spikes is just as good if you lack some form of Deoxys.

I would not recommend any sort of speed lowering nature on Forretress, because then you are outsped by Wobbuffet, who is now #7 in Uber usage. if you are faster than Wobbuffet, you can just set up spikes on it.
