Welcome to Break This Team! This project follows a simple layout, with the submission and voting stages taking place on a week by week basis. Most metagame defining teams appear to be flawless at a glance, but they all have specific flaws, and this project centers around pointing out such weaknesses. Each week, I'll post a team that was built by someone invested in the metagame, and the participants will then try to break this team with a core consisting of two Pokemon. The project will have two phases each week: the submission phase and the voting phase. The submission phase will have a duration of ~5 days and participants are allowed to post a core with two Pokemon within that time. Then the voting phase will last 2 days and people can vote for their favorite core. Finally, multiple Hall of Fame entries from any one person will result in them being able to post a team for the week! PM me with the team in question if you're a three-time winner.
RULES:
RULES:
- Please try to not post one-liners. This includes extremely short descriptions. Immense amounts of elaboration is not required, but try to at least provide a satisfactory description of the core. Don't post "these Pokemon work well together and I think that it will break this team ", try to elaborate on a good post with an explanation of how the core performs against the team.
- Participants are allowed to do reservations, but if they don't post the sets with the explanation within 48 hours, other participants are allowed to take it.
- This is not a counterteaming competition. This is an attempt to get the community to find viable, functional cores that work generally well in the meta which the team of the week is weak to.
- By extension, try not to post gimmicky sets or Pokemon. For instance, posting Iron Tail Aurorus for Clefairy will NOT be accepted. Please try to post viable Pokemon in respect to the PU viability rankings. Posting a core involving one Pokemon of questionable viability is fine, but don't overdo it.
- If another contestant has reserved a particular Pokemon, you may only reserve it if it's a different set than the one already posted. This is to discourage the use of similar cores to break a team.
- Participants are to only post a core consisting of two Pokemon. However, this number can be subject to change if there is enough demand for it.
- Most importantly, have fun!
VOTING:
- When the time comes to vote, you will pick one user in which you feel had the best post that week.
- Please don't vote on your own core. If you feel as if your core was the best one that week, abstain from voting.
- Don't encourage or bother people into voting for your own core. This is not fair at all to the other participants, and measures will be taken if needed.
