Alrighty guys, it's time for a new season of victims. I sadly could not come up with any ideas that can work while still maintaining the integrity of the thread. The idea of using a 2-mon core as the victim does sound fun, but it eliminates the whole concept of the project. That concept being to submit either a check or a counter. Your submission could check one and counter the other or vice versa and this would've made voting awkward. So, with the end of the meta drawing near, I'll do this run of victims the standard way and we'll cross the next bridge when we come to it. With that said, who will be our 3rd Gen 7 Top Assassin? Will it be Toy Time King or Sir Pin like it was in Season 1. What about jonago from this past season? Your submissions and voting will tell the story. Scarf Sandslash-Alola AKA "Snowslash" has been seeing a ton of play recently, whether that has been in tournament play or ladder play, and for good reason. With a choice scarf, Snowslash hits a solid 376 speed, which allows it to easily outpace Froslass and some other noteworthy mons in the tier, and with it's impressive Ice/Steel/Ground coverage; offensively it can threaten most of the tier. What's notable about Scarf Snowslash, is that it completely negates Froslass's ability to quickly set up Spikes, burn the physical attackers, or do some damage with Z-Ice Beam.

Snowslash gets the OHKO on Froslass with Iron Head before Froslass can even set up one layer of Spikes. And even if Froslass did manage to set a layer, Snowslash still has the ability to spin away the hazards at any time because their spinblocker and spikesetter would be gone. With that being said, I would say Scarf Sandslash-Alola is an offensive check to Froslass.

The reason this is only a check, and not a counter, is because people are well aware of Scarf Snowslash at this point because of how effective it is in the current meta. Also, Snowslash does not appreciate the ability to switch in comfortably because it cannot afford to take a Will-O-Wisp.

However, with that being said, this frostbitten hedgehog certainly holds its head high as one of the superior offensive checks to the S Rank Queen of PU herself, and is definitely worth consideration on any team.

Alola Persian is a good check to Froslass, while it cannot come in directly on its Ice Beam nor its Z-Ice Beam it can come in on it on Shadow Ball
and can proceed to make a hefty damage with Foul Play. It can also Toxic the opposing Froslass and can wear it down this way too.
It can also Taunt Froslass because Alola Persian is faster and Alola Persian can also be an annoyance for Froslass and Froslass teammates
due to having access to Parting Shot, which is able to give momentum meanwhile dropping the offensive stats of the opposing pokémon.

Lycanroc is a strong check to Froslass, as it can withstand any attack apart from Subzero Slammer, outrun and OHKO back with Stone Edge. It doesn't need to boost to OHKO Froslass, and even if it switches into Will-O-Wisp it can still OHKO with Splintered Stormshards when burnt.

With a resistance to Ice, huge special bulk, reliable recovery, an immunity to Spikes and two ways to remove them, HP Fire Cryo is probably the most solid counter to Lass and anything she might try to do in the tier. Lass is basically dead weight while this thing's around.

Eelektross is a pretty good counter to Froslass. Flamethrower has a 31% chance to kill right off the bat

and a slow Volt Switch allows Eelektross to freely pivot out of Froslass, taking over half of Froslass's health in the process

and allows any faster pokemon (such as the checks this week) like Lycanroc and Scarf Kabutops to finish it off without having to take damage or risk a Will-O-Wisp burn.
Eelektross is also comfortably taking any attack from Froslass, including its Z move, and can regain some health via Giga Drain before finishing it off.

In short, Eel can limit Froslass to 1 spike (2 spikes at worst) and avoids taking any vital damage in the process.

Primeape's not the only monkey who can sport a choice scarf. Sure, he gets the fine Nasty Plot, but if people are keen on running scarf Dodrio, I don't see why this can't work.

This makes for a counter to Froslass, since he can come in on anything, including the worst-case scenario of a critical hit Z-Ice beam (as long as there are no spikes), and outpace and KO with one of three fire moves: Overheat if you know you're going to get out after fooling them into thinking Shadow Ball can 2HKO most of the time from outpacing them, Fire Blast if you want to keep momentum going after Froslass bites it, or Flamethrower if 90%- or 85%-accurate moves have you saying "I don't trust like that"

Both knock+sucker ohkoes cleanly the froslass and lum berry avoids the awkward burn. Also 12 in spdef allows u to guaranteedly live z-icium from froslass in case u end up losing the mind games

Counter. Froslass isn't doing much to scarf Aurorus. Sub0 Slammer does 33.5% max and Shadow Ball is doing 31% max. Aurorus can come in on rocks (100% - 24% = 76% left), get hit by either the Z-move or Shadow Ball (worst case scenario is Z-move: 76% - 33.5% = 42.5% left), outspeed Froslass & use HP Rock on the next turn:

252 SpA Aurorus Hidden Power Rock vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Froslass: 218-260 (77.5 - 92.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Get hit by Shadow Ball (42.5% - 31% = 11.5% left), and then finish Froslass off with another HP Rock!
