So, I was perusing TV tropes instead of doing my homework (like always) when I chanced upon the creator backlash section. (Its absolutely hilarious, the nerve of some of guys XD)

Anywho, Alvinearthworm had a brief mention. I always knew he hated his fans (they're really annoying) but he'd march on and continue working through the stellar-Super-Mario-Bros-Z series. My friends, I bring you dark tidings.

R.I.P Super Mario Bros Z, we hardly knew ye.

Given the absurd amount of time it apparently takes for Alvin to make an episode, I always thought he wouldn't be able to finish the series. Still, it's a shame to see this series die, and on a cliffhanger as well!

Wow, I haven't seen SMBZ in years. It's a shame that no more will be made, even though I haven't caught up on it.

R.I.P.

Dang. I seriously just re-watched these again last week. I've always been a huge sprite animation geek and his series will always have a special place in my heart. He's an absolute genius and done some of the best animated sprite work I have ever seen. The story line is also gripping and compelling. I hope he'll post what his envisioned ending was at some point. From the incredible fight against the Axem Rangers on Yoshi's Island to the hilarious sections with Wario and Waluigi, his work will be always bring a smile to my face when I think of it =)

This is a huge loss to the world of internet animation. However, I am glad he has laid it to rest peaceably and is still enjoying his life. For those of you who have never seen the series, here are the episodes on Newgrounds:

Super Mario Bros Z - Alvin Earthworm

If you have never heard of the series, I recommend you watch it now. It has humor, depth, and excellent fight sequences. Enjoy his work!

Edit: Make sure you watch them in order! They're much more interesting that way. And get some popcorn or something!

Anyone else suspicious he's actually been working on it and this is a cruel april fool's prank?

Only me?

Okay :<

I watched it, it was pretty fun with all that action and stuff. I was hoping he'd make a new one, but, guess not. What he did was incredible though.

furry, wat

Honestly, I was surprised way back when people were asking how much is planned and he said something like 45 episodes were planned. That seemed kind of impossible to do considering the episodes were getting longer and longer, and even if the pacing became constant it would literally take decades to finish. Maybe putting it to rest was the best course of action.

Back when they were consistently getting uploaded, the SMBZers calculated how long it would take if the saga were done at that pace. I think the end still landed somewhere just shy of 2040, aka never.
