Description: Bland submission but I do think Blastoise needs very little to succeed. Made it play to it's best traits as a bulky spinner by adding a signature move designed to plays into its spinning capabilities while also buffing its bulk to acceptable levels. Can also function as a stealth rocker and check stuff like dragonite.

Leaning more into being a special juggernaut that thrives in sun, Venusaur's design is streamlined and loses its Poison typing, as having Poison STAB doesn't benefit Venusaur any and just makes its defensive profile worse. It still has Sludge Bomb to address Fairy types if need be, and its old typing is referenced through Poison Heal. Instead, due to how associated with taking in sunlight Venusaur is in the Pokedex, I decided to instead make it Grass/Fire. While not that much better of a defensive typing over Grass/Poison, it provides Venusaur more benefits from being a lynchpin of Sun teams.

Sunburst helps it set up weather without just getting it for free on switch-in via Drought, but still lay on offensive pressure so it doesn't lose momentum. Fiery Dance gives it a Fire STAB option that really benefits from being under Sun, while also having a chance to make its offensive output even scarier, although with the caveat of not having any higher power Fire moves to benefit from it. Will-O-Wisp is Will-O-Wisp, but can help make it harder to break if Venusaur runs a defensive set that utilizes Poison Heal to stay healthy.

Meltdown |
Fire.png
| Special | 110 BP | 90% Acc | 5/8 PP | Becomes Physical if Atk>SpA. Deals double damage to Rock types. Lowers whichever attack stat was used by 2.
Fire/Dragon is the obvious change for Charizard, no longer 4x weak to Stealth Rock so it can actually come in without being forced to run Heavy Duty Boots. It's stats are rearranged to be a mixed attacker, although with a hit to its speed that makes it mediocre but still usable. Dry Skin makes it a semi-counter to opposing Rain teams, turning its Water neutrality to an immunity and healing it in Rain while it still has Dragon STAB to rely on.

Meltdown gives it an Overheat sidegrade that has less power, but goes off Charizard's stronger attacking stat and gives it a STAB answer to Rock. Agility lets Charizard overcome its slower speed stat if given a turn of set-up, with immediately threatening moves like Draco Meteor and Meltdown to answer with after. Overheat was removed due to redundancy and Toxic was removed for obvious reasons, Dragon Dance is removed so Charizard has to choose whether to boost one of its offensive stats (Swords Dance and Nasty Plot) OR boost its speed (Agility) on a turn rather than getting to boost both at once.

Description: Under the sun, Venusaur becomes a physical wallbreaker with exceptional special bulk. Trailblaze allows Venusaur to boost its Speed and act as a sweeper. Ground typing allows it to block Volt Switch and have a powerful STAB Earthquake, but it comes at the cost of getting a double weakness to Ice. Fire Lash gives it coverage that is boosted by the sun, and it also makes sense flavor-wise with its lashing vines.

Alternatively, it can be used as a Sun wallbreaker as its signature move Solar Flare gives it a 160BP move when the sunny weather is active, retaining the specific role OG Charizard had. It can even viably run Blaze here for more wallbreaking power!

Description: Blastoise gives the metagame a sorely needed Steel-type since Kanto lacks Steel-types in general. Thick Fat gives Blastoise its Fire resistance back while also giving it a triple Ice resistance, which is very helpful in checking Ice-type wallbreakers such as Gengar. Its signature move Drain Cannon gives it much-needed recovery while dealing damage at the same time (useful in AV sets).
Offensively, an increased SpA and an additional STAB to punch through fairies gives its Shell Smash sets extra mileage.

Movepool Changes:
+ Flower Power, Toxic Spikes
Signature Move: 75 BP / 15 PP / Grass / 100% Accuracy / Special / Explanation: This attack cannot be resisted.
Explanation: Venusaur is an excellent defensive pick with amazing special bulk and a solid defensive typing. With Regenerator, its longetivity is much better without relying on Synthesis and/or Leech Seed. Its new signature move helps prevent passiveness as it can't be resisted, which helps as both of Venusaur's STABs are very poor offensively. With Flower Power, it really only needs to run one offensive move. However, its slow and has quite a few common weaknesses. Its physical bulk is also much weaker than its special bulk.

Signature Move: 95 BP / 15 PP / Fire / Accuracy: 100% / Physical / Explanation: The user's next Fire type move is boosted by 1.3 damage. This does not stack.
Explanation: With a new boosting move, a new Fire/Dragon typing, and balanced offensive stats, Charizard is a versatile offensive threat. With Adaptability, its STAB moves hit very hard. Adaptability Draco Meteor + Overheat is very powerful on Choice Specs sets. Its new coverage moves also allows it to hit more mons super-effectively. Set-up sets are also very strong with either Furious Fire or Dragon Dance. However, Charizard has mediocre bulk, is weak to all entry hazards, and has common weaknesses.

Signature Move: 10 PP / Water / Status / Explanation: Puts the user in a protective shell that takes only half damage from the next attack. After the user is hit, the shell breaks and they are healed by 1/2 HP. Has +3 priority.
Description: With an excellent signature recovery move and Filter, Blastoise can now serve as a wall much better. With its new Fighting type, it also has access to STAB moves such as Body Press and Drain Punch. Body Press especially works well with Iron Defense. Utility such as Rapid Spin is still useful as always. It could also run Shell Smash sets better due to good dual STABs. However, its still weak to very common types, even with Filter. Its stats aren't that amazing either.

Jumping Whip: Special. Grass type. 95 power. 100 Accuracy. 16 PPs. Makes contact. Always raises Speed.

Description: Venusaur is still a Sun sweeper, but now it hits hard from the beginning due to Solar Power. It has middling Speed which it can raise with the signature move Jumping Whip. Venusaur can quickly get out of control from the opponent, but has a big problem: It needs to choice 4 Moves between Jumping Whip, Sludge Bomb, fire Move (HP Fire or Weather Ball), Synthesis (due to dying from Solar Power, though it can be fixed with Black Sludge) and Growth. However, if the opponent doesn,t have a Mon that can take all Venusaur Moves, it can win the game on the spot.

Movepool Changes: Removed Moves: Toxic. Added moves: Heavy Artillery.
Signature Move:
Heavy Artillery. Water type. 50 power. 100 Accuracy. 16 PPs. Hits twice. Pulse Move.

Description: This is Mega Blastoise with a better typing, but much worse Stats. Blastoise now uses both of its cannons to launch powerful Heavy Artillery. This Mon needs opposing Water types to get removed in order to start sweeping, but its hard to stop if it manages to set up.
Venusaur is extremely threatening under Sun, and can still even sweep outside of Sun since the Growth+Jumping Whip boosts stay. Fire coverage isn't even all that necessary because of the lack of Steel-types. I advise you to reduce Special Attack by about 10 points and reduce Jumping Whip's base power.
Blastoise's signature is also overpowered, essentially being a free 150-BP move with Mega Launcher. Reduce the move's base power or the Pokemon's Special Attack and you're good to go.

- Toxic Pollen [Base Power: 80; PP: 10; Type: Grass, Special; Effect: If the user attacks after the target, it sets Toxic Spikes]

Description:
1) Flavour
Venusaur's Mega evolution gives some primal vibes, and since its basic form is already Sun themed, I figured it was only natural to go for Protosynthesis.

2) Competitive
- Protosynthesis turns Venusaur into a pretty flexible Pokémon on Sun teams; if you want a fast lategame cleaner, run a Timid nature; if you prefer a wallbreaker, run a Modest nature; and if you prefer sth sturdy for your team, run a Bold or a Calm nature. The last aspect is important to point out because with Terastallization, you are free to add another Sun abuser to your team, like Victreebel or Exeggutor who might appreciate Venusaur's ability to tank hits throughout the game.
- Toxic Pollen encourages you to play Venusaur more defensively and synergizes with Venoshock. Tanking hits and spreading status is sth (Mega) Venusaur and its Pokémon cards like to do. So, it was important to me to emphasize this aspect rather than solely focusing on another offensive Sun abuser.

Move Changes
- Crimson Dive [Base Power: 100; PP: 10; Type: Fire, Special; Effect: Works like Photon Geyser]
- add Draco Meteor and Acrobatics

Description:
1) Flavour
Lizards like to bath in sun, and with Charizard being already Sun themed and giving some primal vibes in its Mega form, Protosynthesis was the next logical conclusion.

2) Competitive
- Protosynthesis turns Charizard into a pretty diverse, offensive Pokémon; you can run it as a special wallbreaker or rely on a mixed or physical set involving Dragon Dance. Belly Drum + a Speed boost from Protosynthesis is also possible if you feel gutsy enough.
- If you insist, Charizard can be used more defensively; stats were chosen as to allow a Def or a SpD boost, making you feel like you have a mini Mega Charizard X from ORAS on your team. I mention gen 6 because some Mega Charizard X have been running a bulky utility sets!
- I went for a secondary Dragon type because Pokémon have become a lot stronger over the generations; moreover, the type synergizes with Sun much better and offers a better resistance profile. This allows you to play Charizard however you want to!
- I added Acrobatics because Terastallization exists. This move is much stronger than Dragon Claw on physical sets and synergizes well with either Booster Energy or Belly Drum. Although this Charizard is Fire/Dragon, it is still possible to go for a Flying move and tera into a Flying type to deal more damage and avoid Earthquake.

- add Wish and Stealth Rock

Description:
1) Flavour
Blastoise isn't necessarily Sun themed but since it's based on a turtle, I figured it can't hurt to include another Protosynthesis user. After all, turtles love bathing in the sun; they need it because as cold-blooded animals, they can better regulate their body temperature. You could argue that Blastoise's old Rain Dish ability turns it into a Pokémon reliant on weather. So, Protosynthesis is merely a different way to use Blastoise on a weather team.

2) Competitive
- Protosynthesis turns Blastoise into a pretty flexible Pokémon on Sun teams; thanks to Sun from Ninetales, Blastoise can now tank hits much better while removing hazards from the field or providing Wish support, which naturally synergizes with Flip Turn. It can also set Stealth Rock, thereby creating more space on a team.
- If you want to, you could use Blastoise as a dangerous lategame set-up cleaner. Shell Smash + SpA boost from Booster Energy can hurt quite a lot, and with Terastallization and Terablast, you can hit more targets. It's also possible to rely on Body Press + Iron Defense + a Def or SpD boost from Booster Energy.
Unfortunately, Protosynthesis is the signature ability of the Paradox Pokemon, and therefore is unable to be distributed.

Charizard's stats, typing, ability, and signature all contribute to a very overoptimized Calm Mind sweeper. I would reduce offenses, remove Berserk or Calm Mind (both goes too crazy), and reduce the damage boost of Burnt Dreams.
We are not giving the starters signature abilities this slate. Remove the signature in favor of a vanilla ability and it should be fine (depending on the ability, of course).
