I'm sad to see us get this early Canada but we got really close to making Top 8 and we did our best!
You're all very nice people and I enjoyed talking with you guys I hope to see you all around Smogon.

We had a good run, and we came ever so close to finishing in the top 8. Don't worry, we'll get them next time. Y'all are great, and it's been a blast to be around you guys.
I'd like to give a special thanks to jeronipuff for taking a chance on some random adv player whose showdown name sounds like he's a 10 year old. You made this possible. I'd also like to give a special thanks to Hclat for getting me ready for some fierce ADV competition, giving me great pointers on my playing day in and day out. Shoutouts to dogecreamgaming and Lambo_murphy44 as well y'all are cool :)

RBY OU: [MWS] EB0LA «0-A» [EUR] kjdaas
kjdaas reached out to EB0LA 3 days after the round was initially posted; EB0LA initially responded to her scheduling request with an invite link to a random Discord server and did not actually attempt to find a time to schedule until just before the deadline despite kjdaas attempting to have scheduled for an entire 2 weeks beforehand. While some precautionary measures could've been taken from both sides to ensure the game got completed, such as requesting a sub from Europe (MWS already used all of their subs) for guaranteed last-minute gameplay or contacting the other team's captains earlier into the round to try to get a sub before the sub pool had dried up, replying to a scheduling PM so late into the round made scheduling nigh impossible, especially considering the timezone difference.
GSC OU: [EUR] Zokuru «A-0» [SPA] Klay
There was minimal effort from both sides to schedule (Klay just said later in the day on Saturday, Zokuru kept attempting to play the game immediately without respect to scheduling), and even though Tomahawk attempted to reach out to Team Spain's captains, neither of them were actually in the Discord server that he attempted to reach out in and the sub attempt was very last-minute. However, one of Spain's captains admitted that Klay had no intent on playing after Spain had already dropped below the necessary threshold to make it into round 2, and Klay has also not been online since Friday July 31 at 8:33 PM EDT, and no other sub was available for Zokuru to play.
ADV OU: [UK] watermess ‹A-0› [MWS] Nails
watermess attempted to reach out to Nails on July 28th (9 days after the round was posted), so that still gave Nails 5 days to respond and work out a time to play; however, watermess ended up having to bump the VM 3 days before the deadline, and Nails still didn't reply until over a day after the bump. Additionally, after they had scheduled over Discord, watermess got on 5.5 hours early and told Nails that he would be able to play up until their actual scheduled time; Nails did not show up, and watermess made sure to wait an additional 20 minutes. On top of that, watermess and Nails even ran into each other online at the same time and watermess asked if Nails wanted to play then, and Nails said no. Additionally, Midwest ran out of available substitutes on deadline day.
ORAS OU: [ITA] Adam the First «0-A» [NA] robjr
Italy subbed Adam the First out 18 hours before the deadline with 2 matches left to play. Sub-in Corckscrew and robjr subsequently weren't able to meet each other's schedules.
DPP OU: [ARG] Makesuit «0-A» [EUR] Tomahawk
Discord communication between them started on Saturday, and they scheduled for 11AM CEST on Monday, 3 hours before the deadline. Makesuit asked for a last minute change before Tomahawk got online on Monday. Makesuit asked for 3 hours later, to play after the deadline. Tomahawk waited around the scheduled time while Makesuit was offline, and Tomahawk couldn’t later make Makesuit’s post-deadline time. Argentina had already used up all their substitutes.
