Pet Mod Roulettemons 2 (Now Playable!)

Doomderm: whao

Spookpet: i've seen worse (doomderm)

Rosemire: Interesting. This thing's pretty bulky so it probably won't find it overly difficult to use Bulk Up to boost up and blow past fat stuff. Slowghast is still annoying as ever but Leaf Blade's crit chance might be a massive help there even if it might suck to drop Wood Hammer depending on how you want to play this thing. Still has the option of running straight up defensive sets but the typing really does you no favors even if Discharge, Lava Plume, and U-Turn are pretty cool for it. Looks pretty cool and I don't find it especially likely that it ends up being a problem.

Dinomite: I shouldn't be surprised by a Pokemon having 105/160 special bulk as its weaker defensive stat and also 134 base attack Ice/Fire/Ground coverage at this point.

Lumionite: This thing looked too weak to me initially but having a look at LO Apple Acid calcs I'm a bit less sure. Resisting the initial Apple Acid will make it way harder to break stuff and mons with generally solid bulk should automatically check this unless they're weak to Fighting or Grass. There's also the issue that this thing gets completely stuffed out by Ghost-types, like Elemadillo needs to get hit by a max roll twice to die to two Apple Acids and that thing is very fragile, but I guess you can make the argument that this thing would force a trade with said Ghosts, notably Slowghast, which would be very helpful at enabling some offensive mons. A lot of people on the Discord seemed to like this one and I'm not convinced but would be fine with giving it a go either way since I'm in the minority and I don't see something like this being overpowered. Maybe something like Sub / Fillet Away / Reversal / Gear Grind will pop up too from our lack of priority and the expectation opponents might have that it's running the other set.

Closing a bit early so I can go to sleep whenever I want, Rosemire and Lumionite have been added!

Armshao: Very passive with no options for recovery to help its bulk. It can use Thunder Cage and slow Core Enforcer, but it can't really punish Grounds or Fairies well because it's just so weak and has little else going for it. Ability disruption is nice and all but this is literally all it's really capable of.

Cloudsite: An interesting Flying type that seems to mainly rely on the Torque moves and Glare. The main problem is that it doesn't seem to have a phenomenal STAB option, having to use Drill Peck. Its abilities all seem somewhat useful, namely since it has Sturdy Endeavor, as well as Sun boosted Blazing Torque. Well-Baked Body is useful for swapping into Fire attacks itself, so it's almost always a candidate.

Barraerpillar: This guy has it all. STAB First Impression, Shell Smash, Quiver Dance, some relatively reliable coverage, and beautiful mixed offenses. The main thing this has to deal with is being rather slow, having a poor defensive typing, and having to deal with either Wish or Jungle Healing for recovery. But with stuff like FImp, Beak Blast, and Berserk, its speed being low isn't really a huge deal. It would in all likelihood run sets being either a slow mixed FImp abuser or a slow QD setup sweeper.

Shapire: Shell Smash and Thousand Arrows. Rock STAB for the Flyings, Plasma Fists/Horn Leech for the Waters, or Ice/Fairy coverage for the Dragons. Could go Special Flare Boost in theory, but in practice your moveset that hits on the special side is Power Gem, Earth Power, and Fiery Dance. Not sure if this would somehow be balanced by being Rock/Ground, but to me it's an intimidating Shell Smash abuser.

Seareaf: Due to how this thing's stats and moves worked out for it, its main gameplan is to press Lumina Crash and follow it up with a STAB or perhaps TBolt to hopefully pick up a KO. That being said, it's decently fast and has respectable coverage, so it might make a decent revenge killer. But it's definitely quite weak by Roulettemons standards.

Armshao: Most interesting thing I could see this doing is something with Meteor Beam, since its STAB combination and coverage options are okay, but if I were to guess this would probably actually just run Curse. It's another one of those giant recoveryless stat stick mons we saw a lot of a while ago, and the most interesting thing this pulls to the table is Thunder Cage + Teleport. I guess that's unless you count Immunity being on a Steel-type. Pass.

Cloudsite: Seems interesting. Stat spread is...well, I don't think I'd call this minmaxed. It's not really spectacular anywhere but cut into its Sp. Atk to be above average in a lot of places. STAB Drill Peck + Drought Blazing Torque + Land's Wrath is notably strong coverage but it's locked into boots and will struggle against even decently bulky stuff that isn't weak to any of those. It does have Glare to punish such mons though, or can fish for Blazing Torque's 30% burn chance. Chilly Reception seems cool to guarantee you'll have your sun back later too. Seems like a pretty interesting and balanced mon, not much to complain about really.

Barraerpillar: Lot of comparisons I can draw to Cloudsite funny enough. It's mainly that its "minmaxed" stats that aren't actually overly scary and its typing probably locks it into Boots to limit its power. I don't think Shell Smash is great here but Quiver Dance is functionally a Calm Mind at worst, which pair very strongly with Berserk and its stats but not so much with its movepool. High Jump Kick and First Impression complement this really nicely for their own reasons but at the end of the day this is still a slow breaker and do you really want to rely on something with this typing for defensive utility? Maybe it'll end up playing too much like those stat stick mons I don't like, maybe we don't need another big bulk Ghost-type, maybe I'm underestimating how good First Impression is and it'll be too difficult for offense teams to punish... I'm not going to vote yes for this but I might not complain if others did.

Shapire: The one reason you'd vote this in is if you reaaaaally wanted us to reach 10 Rock-types to achieve meme meta status. Looks pretty stupid and we don't need more than 7 Rock-types.

Seareaf: Okay guys now I REALLY don't think we need more big physical fat mons now that we have Slowghast and Radimite and possibly Zephyrelp, this is probably just gonna be Roulettemons 1's whole deal again lmao. Remember Baloon, Mega Chillyte, and Brawnkey? Yeah. Even if it weren't for that this just seems like kind of a janky and unfun pivot to be completely honest, we've had cooler stuff to abuse guaranteed stat dropping moves.

Cloudsite and Barraerpillar have made it in. We're now at 42 of the 47 mons needed to start the last Pokemon slate!

Imploach: Another bulky bug with mid offenses. More hazard control is nice I guess, though hazards don't seem to be very common here. Court Change would be very cool to have though.
Terroweed: Looks fine in a vacuum, might be hard to prevent it from setting up but it'll still be pretty slow. Probably hits very hard with Psychic Terrain boosted hits.
Steelshee: Can be either a special breaker or physical sweeper, has BoltBeam coverage on both sides with other options to supplement, can easily eat a few physical attacks with its defense and Wisp. Electro Drift in Electric Terrain goes hard. May be a tad bit problematic, but definitely looks fun to abuse.
Gnomita: Its typing would have been a lot worse if there were more Fightings and Grounds in the meta. All three abilities are pretty cool, Dry Skin probably has the most value out of them all, helps it to avoid getting wrecked by Fishious Rends. Isn't anything special, just another slow bulky attacker with little utility. The idea of it is nice, but its movepool feels quite shallow.
Rampecker: No idea how Parental Bond interacts with Octolock, but Parental Bond Dark Void is like a 75% to at least put something to sleep. Luckily it doesn't have anyway to boost its Atk or SpAtk and no recovery to abuse with the Def boosts from Diamond Storm/Psyshield Bash. It does have higher attacking stats than Mega Kangaskhan, so it is probably problematic. ngl, I like this, very quirky mon.

Going to cut to the chase here - I don't like any of these.

Imploach: Another big, recovery-less fatmon. Typing forces it into Boots which kinda ruins what good it could do even if that was only hazard removal and nothing else in the first place. Maybe unless Lunar Blessing sees use but I doubt that it will.

Terroweed: If you know what Tapu Lele did in OU you know what this does here. Big difference is that this has way more special bulk, a way better offensive typing, and some utility options in place of boosting and a decent Speed tier. Meta is not equipped to handle this at all.

Steelshee: We have a boatload of Steels as is, some of which pure Steel like this one, and I don't think we want one with Hadron Engine along with all those strong coverage options.

Gnomita: Meta has too many Rock-types as is and this one doesn't provide anything good to it.

Rampecker: Alright I admittedly haven't done any calcs yet but that typing is very good, Speed tier is alright, and you also have Parental Bond Air Slash and Searing Shot for 51% flinches and burns respectively, plus like Diamond Storm if you really want something a 25% chance of getting four Defense boosts in one turn, 50% of getting two, and 25% of getting nothing, not counting the 5% miss. Doesn't seem like fun to me.
