Pet Mod Roulettemons [Finished Mod + Now with Random Battles!]

Bellypus: Slap this in front of a physical attacker and it will never die. You cannot lower its Defense because of Big Pecks, it can raise its Defense with Cotton Guard, it can lower your Attack and heal at the same time with Strength Sap, and it can fish for burns with Sacred Fire. It could also pressure switches with Yawn, and it has moves like Spikes and Haze with a solid offensive presence. Its one weakness? It loses to the multiple fast powerful special Electric types in the metagame. However, those are more of checks than counters thanks to Bonemerang and Toxic Thread, so I’ll say it’s probably a bit much.

Porcudrill: Has all the makings of a fantastic offensive Pokemon, but it sadly doesn’t have the stats for it. 79 with no method of boosting its Attack is rather poor, especially for this meta, and it doesn’t have a reasonable support moveset (no reliable recovery especially) to help it as an HP sponge.

Chickaring: Fun fact, mono-Flying mons that use Roost become Normal until the end of the turn. Unfun fact, that just makes this thing worse. Iron Barbs with 165 Defense, a solid moveset for both support and semi-offense (maybe even setup if you use SD), and a mono-Flying type with Roost makes this thing very much not my first choice.

Stuntile: Stunt or die, usually the former. Very thin Defense, but a very solid Special Defense, and with Play Rough, Fusion Bolt, Meteor Mash, and Waterfall, you hit pretty much everything in the meta that doesn’t outspeed you. Solid Rock mitigates its weaknesses, and you could theoretically run a Life Orb or Banded set with Parting Shot or Trick. You could even run Memento for something to come in and set up. Not the most broken thing in this meta, but do we really need another offensive Electric type?

Hyenix: Has a bag of tricks, and I can’t help but wonder how things lined up for it so well. It’s an Agility sweeper with two noteworthy sets, Skill Link and Soul Heart. Soul Heart would likely be the major set, with strong move options such as Dark Pulse, Blue Flare, Sludge Wave, and Fleur Cannon taking down foes in its path. You could also run it mixed with moves like Sunsteel Strike, Drill Run, and Psycho Cut to edge past certain checks and counters. Of course, its other viable set is Skill Link, and it gets three viable moves that take advantage of it: Rock Blast, Pin Missile, and Water Shuriken (it even gets Mat Block too). Water Shuriken gives it a strong priority option, Rock Blast in particular takes down Pidgeotine, and Pin Missile is good for other Dark types like Ninjoth and opposing Hyenix, where Fleur Cannon might not always be the choice you want to make. However, it ultimately can’t run a set that takes on every Pokemon in the tier, and it has a very thin defense stat, meaning you’d have to play it very carefully. It could still be a bit much, I’ll have to see what the other people here think, but it’s my personal favorite of the mons here.

I fully agreed with Bellypus, Porcudrill, Chickaring and Stuntile.

I'm in a fence with Hyenix; on one hand, it do have terrible physical bulk and is slow, but on the other hand, its offensive stats are a big killer (alongside Soul-Heart to boost its huge SpA even further) and can run rampant in a Trick Room team because of this. It also have coverage in the form of Fleur Cannon, Sunsteel Strike, and Sludge Wave to take care of possible STAB counters. Overall, that's up for voters whether or not Hyenix should be voted or not.

Bellypus: It's great against physically offensive mons, no doubt about that. Against other mons it's kind of a sitting duck, I think. Its STAB options do nothing for it, its abilities do nothing for it 99% of the time. Sacred Fire is a good utility move but goes off of its lower offense. Finally, it's extremely vulnerable to Special moves. I don't know about this one...

Porcudrill: Z-Conversion Desolate Land Eruption questionmark questionmark questionmark
Jokes aside, stats except HP seem all too low for it to do... anything.

Chickaring: We already have enough defensive Flying-types. Next.

Stuntile: Seems solid, but we have some offensive Electric-types already. Might vote for it in a 2nd or 3rd spot because it isn't really bad, just not that unique.

Hyenix: Hell yeah. Balanced by its low Speed and frail physical side, everything else about this mon is great. It has options against a lot of things, but can't run all at once. It's more versatile than it is broken.

Bellypus:
Good against physical attackers given that huge base physical defense, but ends up doing poorly against special attackers. Not a big surprise, but it could be solid. I'm confused about what to say about this mon.

Porcudrill:
Not fast, not strong, and actually not overly bulky. It's not good. Yeah, Z-Conversion + Desolate Land is nice, but I don't think that's enough to save it from being trash.

Chickaring:
Error 404: Comments refused to load. Their associated URL timed out. Moving on.

Stuntile:
Probably a fine addition, I guess. It's got a lot of tricks in its bag, and it would do very good. It's rather strong and is very resistant to special attacks. My only issue with this concept is, do we really need more electric-type wallbreakers?

Hyenix:
Dies too fast to all physical attackers and is too slow to do anything noteworthy. Throw this thing into the trash bin already, dang it.

It's been long enough, so: Voting has now begun! As usual I will not be voting just in case I need to break a tie.

Alright, winner by a mile was Hyenix, it got significantly more votes than Bellypus.

Onto the next slate...

That's about it! Discussion is now open!

Rhinolite is a really cohesive and cool pokemon. A fastish rock/ground with No Guard sounds super fun

Ramkey: We already have a Fighting monkey in Brawnkey, and plenty of Fighting types in general. We even have defensive Fighting types. It's a very bulky Pokemon, but none of its abilities really help it, and it has to choose between Morning Sun and Rest for its recovery. It does have Counter, though, so you'd have to watch out for that.

Rhinolite: I do in fact like this Pokemon. It's not super bulky and has clear weaknesses, and also no setup. In exchange, however, it has No Guard Stone Edge and Bonemerang, with Drill Peck for Grass and Fighting types, as well as Strength Sap for a quick recovery. Its speed is going to be its greatest advantage, but it's checked/countered by mons with good defense and reliable recovery.

Crocita: Another neat Pokemon here, but there is one problem I see. With solid speed and a high Attack stat, this Pokemon is definitely a powerhouse. It has low HP, for sure, but with Electric and Grass coverage in the form of Fusion Bolt and Horn Leech (it gets Volt Tackle, too, but that low HP is detrimental to it), it can take on a variety of foes. It even has Smart Strike if it wants to take on Fairy types. The main problem, in my opinion, is the presence of Swords Dance and Coil. This makes it a very powerful wall-breaker that you don’t want to mess with, even if your name is Baloon. It wouldn’t be completely broken, but it drops it down a few points for me.

Deworb: This thing is peculiar. It’s not bad, not absurdly good, but I have no idea what this thing is in terms of design. A physical Psychic type that’s also good at taking physical hits, has Glare and Roost, Hone Claws, Thousand Arrows, Close Combat, and U-Turn. It also has two abilities that seem odd for it, with only one being of relative use (and it’s still situational). Overall, not bad, just strange, even for Roulettemons.

Fierutor: Protean with that coverage screams powerful in Trick Room. It has very low SpD and is weak to Electric if it doesn’t get the chance to attack, but it’s still ridiculous. And, what’s more, you could run it as an offensive wall with Poison Heal. Sacred Fire is a strong STAB that also has a chance to burn, so you can run that alongside Shore Up, Protect, and filler (coverage or utility). Not my first choice, but I don’t think it’s terribly broken. We did just put in another Fire type, though.

Alright, Rhinolite wins this slate! Sheet will be updated shortly.

We now have 35 Pokemon, so we're going to take a break from voting things in. I'm going to focus on making this playable just so we can get an idea for what all is too good or too bad, and there will be suspects, quickbans, and possibly new megas. I'll post again as soon as this meta is playable!
