Sawsbuck

This thing looks like a Stantler a very gay-looking Stantler. I don't know Agility Baton Pass probably is your best shot if you're a nub. Or you could use a semi-generic Life Orb setup sweeper.

I was wondering how good would a Choice Band Sawsbuck be?

Return
Horn Leech
Jump Kick/Nature Power/Wild Bolt
Jump Kick/Nature Power/Wild Bolt

Also winter-form da best form.

You are a fool. Sawsbuck is a downright deadly sun sweeper, hitting a speed stat unmatched by anything in the entire metagame (Including goddamn Excadrill in Sand!) under the sun without any set up. It's not quite Excadrill thanks to being frailer and not hitting as hard, but it can do a number to almost anything between Return, Leach Horn and Nature Power/Jump Kick after it gets the opportunity to set up a SD.

Underestimate Sawsbuck at your own risk.

As for a Choice Band set, it does seem pretty viable as a revenge killer for Sun teams. The immediate power and insane speed already granted by Chlorophyll plus the boost from Choice Band makes it basically a Scarfer on steroids. It does of course trade some power and the ability to switch moves for the ability to hit hard right off the bat though. It's certainly worth a shot I think.

Has anyone considered using Focus Sash to compensate for Sawsbucks Frailty?

Sawsbuck @ Focus Sash
Adamant
4 hp / 252 atk / 252 spd
-Swords Dance
-Return
-Horn Leech
-Nature Power (Earthquake)/Jump Kick

If the opponent doesn't have a priority move, or is a lucky bastard with getting the Burn on Flamethrower, it can SD for free when it comes in, then EQ, Return or Horn Leech it's opponent. If you come across a pokemon that has High HP but low Defences (and no priority) - I dunno what poke, but stull - they bring you to sash on the SD, then you can Horn leech them. If you kill them, you're now out of Priority range, with an SD boost up your sleeve... It's a brilliant way to set up!
Plus, it allows you to kill things with Priority, or work outside of the sun - If an opponent gets a SmashPass, for example - you can send Sawsbuck in, Sash the hit (because they'll think ur LO'd and so you'll be OHKO'd) and kill them back with one of your STABS or Nature Power... If you can Horn leech them, even better!!! This allows you to extend beyond a mere sun sweeper.

Also, Sawsbuck is the PERFECT Toxicroak Counter. You can use an SE Earthquake which is unaffected by Sucker Punch - from Adamant on a unboosted Bulk Up set, I do believe its an OHKO (but I'm not sure, it might just OHKO the SD set before an SD boost) - or a 2HKO, you simply tank the D-punch, SD up, then EQ for the OHKO - without dying to Sucker Punch - if he uses sub, simply EQ twice!!!

well that's my analysis, whether you include it or not is up to you - I use it on my sun team at least...

Well I can see where you're going with this, but it seems pretty gimmicky to me for two main reasons.

1: Something like Sawsbuck will really notice the drop in power without life orb, meaning it'll get walled by a lot more stuff
2: Sawsbuck is vulnerable to any and all entry hazards, so if there's so much as one layer of toxic spikes up your entire plan for focus sash is null and void

Sawsbuck gets plenty enough chance to set up as it is thanks to forcing switches and not minding taking a single hit (assuming it doesn't KO) since it can heal back with Leach Horn. You might be able to set up more easily, but that hardly matters when you can't do as much once you're set up.

Still, I haven't used it or encountered it, so I can only point out issues I see on paper. I don't know how well it would function in practice compared to standard Life Orb.

yeah, with the Sash set, you really need Rapid spin support - which is why I use Volt Switching Forry - I spin any and all hazards, then V-switch away to Sawsbuck...

I do understand your Lack of Power thing, but there are far too many things out there that OHKO with Priority moves, or can survive a non-boosted LO move and OHKO back, so this way, you can surprise those guys with a lack of switching, and simmply SD in their faces - the set really does rely on the SD though, but 500 attack is nothing to sneeze at if you can get it up almost every time...

also, if you cant get the kill on something, most of the time a Horn leech is enough to recover to full health, so you can still get that second attack in...

no priority OHKOs Sawsbuck except banded Mamoswine and Conkeldurr. even then Mamoswine only OHKOs 20% of the time and both would definitely give you ample time to set up your Volcarona or whatever

ps Technitop too i guess

NP Cario can with Vacuum wave, who dies to Nature Power or Jump Kick... LO won't cover that with sash... However Cario can't kill S-defensive Ferro with any of it's moves...
same same for SD Cario with E-speed...

^SD cario with one SD boost and Life orb. Do note that even though this doesn't OHKO, it gets you to less than 10% Health, which, if you give Sawsbuck Life Orb, will mean Sawsbuck dies to its own recoil...

ok, so SD lucario doesn't OHKO with Adamant, but NP Lucario does with a mere Timid...

Adamant Sawsbuck with no boosts.

...ok, so Sawsbuck doesn't always OHKO it, but with Spikes support (or LO recoil, which it needs to get to sash range on the E-speed set) it's always an OHKO...
...I think someone owes me an apology :p

anyway, I understand the gimmicky factors to this, but With Horn Leech and his insane speed, I believe that a Sash gives him better chances of survival than giving him Bulk in any way...

Jump kick = no more walling. Skarmory and Ferrothorn are the only things that wall Sawsbuck, but you know what they have in common?

Ninetales flamethrower OHKO's them

guess what? EVERY team that carries Sawsbuck in ou user Ninetales. Congratulations! Skarmory problem solved. What? They switch? Then bring in Sawsbuck!

Actually, Skarmory can easily take a +2 Jump Kick before using Brave Bird / Whirlwind. Wild Charge would hurt a lot more, although Nature Power/Jump Kick seems better overall due to coverage.
