SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

Thinking about the coin mon made me realized something.

Weird little guys inhabiting an open world game that give rewards for finding them. The Pokemon is also probably based on the Korpokkur like the Korok too.

No Alolatales means no Veil. No Alolatales means no good hail setters. No Arctozolt means no good hail abusers, assuming Cetitan sux. Grimmsnarl can make a comeback with both it and Koko being absent to set up screens.
There is still all the other Snow Warning user as all Snow Warning users get Aurora Veil. None of them are as good as Ninetales and the strongest and they are all low tier, but that mostly has to do with the fact that light clay is banned in PU-UU and Slush Rush is banned in PU/NU.
Now one might say it doesn't matter since those other 3 Fully Evolved Pokemon are trash, but remember that Ninetales is also trash without Aurora Veil too. It's just OU because it's the best user of this move. With Ninetales out of the picture, that probably means Vanilluxe will see some usage in OU as the "best" aurora veil user.
There is also Beartic who faces a similar situation where you wouldn't use it in OU where Hail is the strongest because Arctozolt has a busted 170 BP move, and you wouldn't use it as much in UU where hail is weaker because of the light clay ban. Sandshrew is also not confirmed in the game yet, in addition to getting psuedo electric STAB, means it's now the "best" slush rush user in the game.

Anyone was hoping for a Meltan-esque reveal of the coin at the end of Dratini community day classic will be disappointed. The earliest timezone has come and gone, and nothing.

While Niantic's track record with things working properly in the early timezones is not good, the fact that the assets require a new non-forced version suggests one does not get their hopes up for a reveal this weekend.

Teddiursa community day is next weekend, so maybe we'll see a tease then, or maybe mid-week with a new trailer. But, steel yourselves for the possibility of no event till game release.

Apparently the coin itself might resemble Bronzor and I guess its face could be represented by the big circles.
The back isn't the same drawing of a tree though, with more of a hexagon base to it like the terastal face and a spiky wreath design wrapping around.

Apparently the mon is also labeled 1080_12 which would also point to it being an alternate form, though I'm not really familiar with Pokemon GO assets so I can't say for myself.

Khu's mostly explained it: the little dude isn't the usable version, but you can find it around and presumably beat it up for the Coins I guess (maybe you can only fight it through auto battles, if you fight it at all), but the usable version of it is the Chest (which will then evolve)

Basically it gets a model for gameplay purposes (since they want you to be able to find them around while you wander), where as the zygarde cells were abstracted into glowing green dots for presumably system constraints & ease of hunting a finate number.

Well weve seen it in game in an earlier trailer, so itd be weird to have a model for an unsuable mon.
Though he may be not completely wrong, it could tecnically be something akin to Zygarde-10%, and it may actually have a "bigger, stronger" finished form when you collect all the coins?

Obviously difficult to tell until we know how the actual thing works, but I don't think it's a unreasonable assumption

Edit: ninjad by R_N

The Pokemon being part Steel is just conjecture from being associated with coins. Only Ghost was confirmed.

Khu said the type is from Gen 6 which people took to reference Aegislash. (EDIT: ninja'd)

Speaking of which, recently he's addressed the website with a reminder of the coin post, said Hoopa has a chance to make it in, made a poll about paradox Virizion's kept type, a poll about the sushi relationship, a vague riddle about which generational gimmick is different, images of Cobalion's chest/Terrakion's legs/Virizion's head which may also be about paradox Virizion with the hint mentioning imagination, a relationship between the hammer and a Gen 8 mon that may relate to a tweet where he said it hits birds and which some people think it means a smack down effect, some possible body shapes for paradox Suicune, a knot that apparently represents a new mon, and a color hint ("red & green, 2Hs") that may be about the pepper. It hasn't really revealed much but that's what he's been posting that hasn't been posted among some other stuff for reference.

For the chest website, apparently there will be an update after 1/5/9/13/17/21/24/25 hours from start.
Here's a snippet from the javascript used for reference with time being in seconds.
The images from box02_01.png to box02_05.png shows the chest filling up with coins in the 2nd angle.

I got this image from this site but I don't know if they took it from someone else.

It's significantly more interesting than the Galarian Ponyta reveal just by virtue of we have a component of the Pokemon already plainly visible and a mystery about how it relates to this if you dont know the leaks

and periodically checking in on a chest that only slowly updates is a lot better than a live stream yo uwere hypothetically meant to watch in case something Interesting (TM) happened
