SPOILERS! Scarlet & Violet Leaks Thread - Data/Mechanics

Cool to see it worked out before it would've been revealed in the strategy guides. Here's the tweet for posterity hinting at Everstone + Destiny Knot + Mirror Herb being breeding items. If the egg moves all save into the Legends-style move list that'll be pretty convenient to set up full mons with.

Sadly, neither Roost nor Rapid Spin are on my Quaquaval's relearn list, so I guess that's still an advantage breeding the moves onto a mon has lol

To follow on this, my friend reported that if you catch a pokemon that knows a egg move from a raid, and forget the move, it won't be on the relearner table.

Though I guess while a bit obnoxious, this system makes re-obtaining the egg move fairly simple nontheless.

It seems they have completely removed the out of battle effects of abilities, likely to get rid of any inconsistency in their descriptions. I guess they moved it all to sandwich powers.
I guess that's just as well, overworld encounters probably made stuff like those weirder to use.
Like I'm not sure those abilities even worked in the Wild Areas or Underground

A lot of people are talking about breeding for IVs but now that Bottle Caps and Mints are purchasable for just $20k and Bottle Caps can be used starting at level 50, what's the point of breeding for IVs? For specific balls in the rare case I guess but other than that, why?

Speaking of overworld encounters, has anyone got this weird thing where a pokemon would show in the minimap but nowhere to be seen on the actual game area?
I thought they would be in underground or something like that but I've seen this happen even near towns...
Am I missing something?

Hope Flame Body/Steam Engine maintain their effects, I bred a 5IV Coalossal just for that purpose.
They probably do but like, eggs hatch in less than a minute each of walking.

That's how it worked in Sword and Shield too. But still useful for transfer mons if moves including egg moves do get deleted.

Saving money because I'm a hoarder. :totodiLUL:

I imagine they left that in for people who still prefer to have perfect IVs built into their Pokemon. They seem to be trying to make competitive Pokemon more accessible overall, to make breeding more of a choice rather than a requirement.

The only thing left is for them to introduce a Rusty Bottlecap or something for the 0IV.

Save you some money grinding. Being able to just buy them is great but if you need a bunch of them they add up. So if you can just save a couple grand here & there, no reason not to

Wow, that's great news about egg moves! I'm really hyped about the new breeding mechanics, seems to be made easier than before.

I don't think so but I can make one. Now that Centro actually 1) credited me 2) linked my sheet I might as well do as much as I can on the one sheet

Has anyone grabbed dex shape / colour? They're my favourite misc data

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1MAQLLg60Y036EQYHtz0PjCBLEYcLgy6mhjsaUDxiSFY/edit#gid=0

Added Egg Groups and Regional Dex # to this. Might add other stats too though there's other sheets with that that already look pretty so I might not bother

I'm also interested in this information, and the experience group (Erratic, Slow, Medium Slow, etc) of the new Pokémon. It would be of great help to update both my team planner and EXP candy calculator :)

Or like Khu mentioned (probably won't be able to find the old tweet) a "pkhex" item which they hinted about in the DLC.

If you pick a bunch from the box and disable animations they will all hatch at the same time?

From the position of a Super Ultra High Level Hoarder "Collector", aesthetic and clout. The cap'd flag on IVs is very ugly, and while the nature change isn't nearly as ugly, it's still less-than ideal. Collectors want perfect Mons - it just looks a lot more professional and like you put in more effort.

Of course, that's not to gatekeep mon collecting in any way. Everyone is free to build their mons whichever way they choose, and their various aspects are all equally valid. It's the amount of heart you put into them that matters the most. If you're happy with what you've got, then be proud :P.

To add to this, if you have perfect mons, any time you need to breed them for new moves or cause you want to shiny hunt or what not, the process is much faster if you don't have to keep going back to buy caps and mints.
