Introduction

I want to say just a few things before starting with the team descriptions:

- I made a 62 win-streak with this team. Don't ask me to prove my win-streak. I don't have screen-shot or anything else you can believe me or not I don't care.

- My English needs to be improved so if you want to correct something just tell me so I will learn :-).

- Feel free to suggest anything to improve descriptions and so on.

- Any rates and comments is welcome no matter what :-).

- Ludvisc are welcome too ( really welcome XD).

Team-in-Depth

images

Bronzong@Leftovers
Trait: Levitate;
EV's: 252 HP/ 84 Atk/ 80 Def/ 92 SDef;
Relaxed nature;
- Stealth rock;
- Protect;
- Earthquake;
-Gyro ball.

Bronzong was the last pokemon I added to the team and this is why I decided to describe him first. When I put him in I was searching for a pokemon that was able to cover Jellicent and Whimsicott weakness, to get hits from dragons and to set up at least stealth rock. I tried for this spot in the team about 7 pokemons ( Jirachi, Hetran, Forretress, Ferrothorn, ....) but no one gave me what Bronzong does. Jirachi and Heatran were too weak against earth moves ( Air baloon does not fix that problem), Hetran was also increadibly weak against fighting type moves like Ferrothorn and Forretres. Bronzong allowed me to fix all this problems thanks to his beutifull typing, great bulk and acces to Levitate. Obvioulsy it also has negative aspects like its weakness to fire moves ( Jellicent can take that) and its low attack stats but, in my opinion, it's the best choice for this team.
Bronzong is also a perfect counter for common treats like Terrakion, Landorus, Tornadus ( if he does not know Heat wave), and so on...
The EV's spread and the move set are pretty standard.
Bronzong is also my lead against sand and no weather team ( sometimes also against rain team, it depends).

Jellicent@Leftovers
Trait: Water absorb;
EV's 248 HP/ 216 Def/ 44SDef;
Bold nature;
- Scald;
- Energy Ball;
- Recover;
- Will-o-whisp.

Jellicent is a huge wall. He has loads of HP, decent bulk and he can also count on water immunity ( thanks to his trait) and fight immunity ( thanks to his typeing) that makes him extremly annoying ( especially against rain team). Once again the EV's spread is standard but the move set requires some explanation. While Scald, Will-o-wishp and Recover are common moves for Jellicent, Shadow Ball is usually preferred to Energy Ball. I preffered the grass move simply because that give me the choice to deal safely with pokemon like Gastrodon, Quagsire and Swampwer that can be really annoying.
What else can I say about Jellicent that everyone else doesn't know already?

Whimsicott@Leftovers
Trait: Prankster;
EV's: 188 HP/ 252 Def/ 68 Spe;
Bold nature;
- Tailwind;
- Encore;
- Substitute;
- Stun Spore.

Whimsicott is the most decisive pokemon in my team. He's the first part of my priority core; as we all know thanks to Prankster all his non-damaging moves gain priority which means I will go first no matter what. The only poke I find so far that was able to go first against Whimsicott and OHKO him, was Mamoswine ( Jolly nature, max speed, Ice shard). This is the reason of my investment in speed that can seem useless at first sight. With 68 EVs Whimsi reach 285 Spe which is just one point more that Mamo; this way I will go first also against him.
In this team Whimsicott covers 4 incredibly important role and he does it incredibly well:

1) Lead against Baton passer team: Priority encore against baton pass team means gg;

2) Counter for set up sweeper: if played in the right way Whimsicott can come in the turn the opponent set up and lock him in that move with prio encore. He can also be sacrificed to paralyze a poke that already set up;

3) Counter against hazard set uppers and stall poke: I can count the time I locked in stealth rock my opponent forcing him to switch or to loose a poke;

4) Tailwind set upper: probably his most important role. I can use tailwind after having locked my opponent in a move with encore and then switch out or simply decide to sacrifice Whimsi to set up tailwind and then sweep with Nidoking.

I think this is one of the most underrated pokemon ever.

Mamoswine@Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat;
EV's: 4 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spe;
Jolly nature;
- Ice Shard;
- Icicle Spear;
- Earthquake;
- Superpower.

I will not spend much time describing how incredible Mamoswine is, we all already know. He's the second part of the priority core. I gave him a standard EVs spread and a Jolly nature. I prefeared life orb over choice band because I hate to be locked in a move with Mamo. Pretty standard move set with the exception of icicle spear. I found spear much better than Icicle crash because it allow me to break subs, to ignore multiscale and, when I hit 4 or 5 times, to deal better damage.

Scizor@Iron Plate
Trait: Technician;
EV's: 116 HP/ 252 Atk/ 140 Spe;
Adamant nature;
- Sword dance;
- Bullet punch;
- Superpower;
- Bug bite.

Third and last part of my priority core, Scizor is another well known OU poke but the EVs are not standard ones. The investment in Attack and the adamant nature allow Scizor to hit hard while the HP investment and his decent bulk allow him not to be OHKO easily. The speed investment, which is uncommon, is there to allow Scizor to outspeed and OHKO with a boosted superpower special defense Hetran that usually switch in against Scizor.
Iron plate is amazing on Scizor as allow him to hit hard and fast even without a boost ( and obviously harded after that XD) without any recoil.

images

Nidoking@Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force;
EV's: 4 HP/ 252 SAtk/ 252 Spe;
Modest nature;
- Thunderbolt;
- Ice beam;
- Flamethower;
- Earth power.

Nidoking is my ultimate weapon. He clean the field, he sweep, he's a nuke. Thamks to a great movepool and the acces to sheer force and life orb combo he can hit hard almost whatever comes in. Anyway his low speed stats and fragility is something to deal with. Nidoking 8 times on 10 comes out to abuse of tailwind ( the 2 times missing are when against slower pokemons or poke that can't hit me). If I don't make mistake when Nido comes in he can freely attack opponents poke and get 2-3 OHKO that I need to win the game.
You don't want to face him trust me :-)

Conclusions

I'm very proud of this team as it really work well for me. I will definitely accept everything you'll write, I'll try it, and answer you. Thanks for your attention and your feedback ( and ludvisc, I love ludvisc XD)

A short treat list is coming soon.

Hey,

Yes the old version of this RMT was X 2000000 better but this is a really good team none the less. I did see a large weakness to Rain teams. Since nearly all rain teams will carry a Thunder abuser or another way to get around Jellicent (but it is energy ball Jellicent i'll give you that). Jellicent aside, your whole team gets wrecked by rain boosted water attacks. Sun also looks like a big threat also with Volcarona under sun ripping through your whole team, especially Giga Drain variants. Trick Room Reuniclus looks threatening as it turns your Tailwind abuse on its head and can then beat up your team with its perfect coverage.

Perhaps your biggest threat is LO / Specs Starmie. Although you may think Jellicent is a good answer, it is a very predictable switch and Jellicent does not enjoy eating Starmies's Thunderbolts. To make matters worse Natural Cure negates your chance to status it with Whimiscott. Other threats I noted were Specs Rotom-W, with his powerful attacks ripping through your team and your 3 attackers not being able to do much to it back. SkarmBliss and stall in general also annoys you a lot as you don't have a dedicated stall breaker, and a well built stall team can take you on easily.Volt-Turn in general seems a pain for you as well as you don't have an answer to ScroTom in your team.

With your large weakness to rain, which is extremly common in this meta, I thought you could use a pokemon that usually counters it very well. I think replacing Jellicent with a Specially Defensive Gastrodon would help your team counter rain very well, and also being a great Volt-Turn cripple. Gastrodon can still spread burn's around like a champ, but it offers you another key immunity that Jellicent lacks. Jellicent is mainly used for his spin blocking potential, and since your team only utilizes Stealth Rock, the ability to spin block isn't that necessary. Gastrodon does what Jellicent did for you and more with acces to Scald and Recover like Jellicent, while also being able to find room for Toxic and Earthquake in its set to make sure that unless its a grass type, it won't be breaking through Gastrodon easily.

If you decide to keep Jellicent, definitely use Taunt > Energy Ball and Toxic > Will-O-Wisp. This equips Jellicent to break stall as well as still being able to cripple offensive teams. The utility of Taunt is far preffered over the coverage given by Energy Ball, while Toxic gives you a more reliable way to cripple threats that also effects stall teams harder.

GL, Gastrodon set below

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Nature: Sassy (+SpD -Spe)
Trait: Storm Drain
EV's: 252HP/ 4Def/ 252SpD
Earthquake/ Scald/ Toxic/ Recover

First of all thanks for your rate.

Thunder abuser is not something I fear as I have 2 pokemon with electric immunity and Whimsicott that laught against elec moves.
I also played several times against rain team and I never had problem against them.
You are absolutely right about starmie; it's a real threat for me and the only way to OHKO that poke is with Nidoking after a tailwind ( Stun spore by whimsicott is nice too). Gastrodon is a nice idea but if I run him on Jelly I will lose the usefull fight immunity he gaves me. I'll give him a try and tell you what I think about him.

Rona is another threat to my team and I have to play smart against her not to be sweeped away ( I usually encore her after one quiver dance and then take her down with Mamo).
Gastrodon can be usufull also to deal with her right??

Choice rotom-wash can be annoying but if I succesfully predict his move he became useless so it's not that dangerous.

Stall team are thought for sure but Nidoking is an incredible stall breaker ( especially when supported by Whimsicott). Scizor and Mamo are usefull too against this kind of team.

Thanks again for you rate; I'll try out gastrodon over Jellicent and let you know :-).

Hi.

Congrats on your success with the team, and what not. This looks like a nice team that brings to light many underrated and underused Pokemon such as Whimsicott, Bronzong, and Nidoking. I also like your idea of Tail Wind + Some-what-fast-but-powerful-sweeper combination that would wreck slower teams. However, I also noticed that you have somewhat of a problem with Stall, and as such, I propose a few changes that would not only help you become less Stall weak but also promote more team synergy:

- Taunt > Energy Ball on Jellicent
- Leech > Stun Spore on Whimsicott

Taunt on Jellicent allows you to handle Stall better in general, as Stall teams have a very hard time taking out Jellicent without using things like Tyranitar - who can't really switch in anyways because it's threatened by a burn. Energy Ball isn't very necessary for dealing with the threats that you mentioned it would cover. Gastrodon cannot get a Toxic on Jellicent as Jellicent would Taunt it first, then proceeding to Burn it, and Recover stall it, and Taunting again periodically to prevent Gastrodon from using Recover itself. The same applies for Quagsire, and Swampert generally doesn't want to stay in to take the burn anyways.

The reason I suggested Leech Seed > Stun Spore on Whimsicott was because I didn't really see what Stun Spore would accomplish given you already had Tailwind. Certainly it can be helpful at times, but it also seems unreliable - at 75% accuracy and redundant at times. Leech Seed also provides your team with some sort of recovery by leeching off of the opponent, benefiting Pokemon such as Bronzong, who would otherwise not have a good form of recovery.

Good luck.

Certainely a different side from the usual OU sides, nice change.

Two problems. Volcarona is just too effective against your team. Jellicent will have to act as a spin blocker AND a wall against him, so once he's down it becomes difficult for you to do anything. Even worse is Hydregion. The ever popular Expert Belt set sweeps your enitre team, Fire Blast wrecks 4 of thore pokes, Dark Pulse ruins Jellicent who can't do a huge amount to him anyway, Nidoking is KO'd by a Draco Meteor. Mamo's Ice Shard can't KO after rocks. Mamo & scizor could KO with double priority, although I highly doubt your opponent will let Hydregion die like that due to it's effectiveness against your side. Whimsicoot can stop him, either tailwind or para will slow him enough.

I think you should try Air Balloon Heatran over either Scizor or Bronzong. It gives you a fire immunity to protect Whimsicott, as your reliant on Jellicent for a huge amount.

I'm not going to post a set because it's really up to you, the main point being to get his defensive capability, resistances & fire immunity. After Flash Fire, his Fire Blast hit's like a truck regardless.
