Update: 1000 eggs, 0 shiny.
You have no idea how much I envy some of you guys right now. >_>
I'm tempted to switch to another Pokemon to MM for shiny, but, I want to stick to this for now. I don't trust myself to resume things if I pause them, and this is a shiny that I need to have. x___x;;;;;
But, I shouldn't really complain too much. The shiny Swablu that I MM'd for in Platinum DID take me around two months, but I didn't keep track of the egg count... >_> <_<

God!!!! finally after 2135 dam eggs i get 3rd shiny chimchard with 5ivs (blaze no iron fist, still happy)

Question, when are the final results going to be considered? I'm pretty interested to see the results of this extensive project. Though it looks like it has stabilized at roughly 1/500. ^^
As soon as the percentage reaches 100% which should be at 200,000 eggs total. Then after that we can either continue or let it stand :)
I say we continue on to 250,000 at least. The more eggs we hatch the more accurate our results will be.
I thought I would take a break from Cyndaquil and try for Meditite and 57 eggs in SHINY!
I think I'm gonna take a break from hatching and stick to chain fishing and Poke Radar chaining and RE hunting. It's been fun.
More beginner's luck! I hatched another 200 eggs and got a shiny rats on #361 overall :)
I've started my third set of 200, for a Larvesta! Just not looking forward to the long hatch rate.

Works for me. We can use the new goals as mile markers. 1st will be 200,000 then 250,000 then whatever is decided after
There's no need for that. ORAS runs on the same engine as X and Y -- they're counted as Gen VI games. The Shiny rate is always the same based on the generation, isn't it?

i think continuing is a good idea. its not like theres a shortage of people breeding for this or anything haha
Continuing it is fine, I just meant there wouldn't be a need to, say, completely redo it for ORAS.
I'm okay with continuing this effort. There's nothing new on 3DS until November (for me, anyway), so I'll keep focusing on this project.
so, i bred 240 more eggs for a shiny totodile and magikarp. Got nothing. Breed a chimchar again because
this time i just wanted one with heat wave. Exactly egg 20 is a shiny with 4 ivs outstanding iron fist :)
I guess this is for the 2000+ chimchars it took me to get only 3 lol
