So I have breeding a 5 iv vaporeon and a 6 iv ditto. Every hp ice I have gotten is atk and speed even everything else perfect. Any ideas how to get the defence to drop and the speed to breed thru?He listed a compatible HP Ice spread. 31/even/30/31/31/31 will always render HP Ice. This spread is considered superior than running a lower speed IV on Jolteon because Jolteon needs as much speed as possible. Losing one defense IV is no big deal, Jolteon can't take hits anyway.
Get a Ditto or Eevee with the desired HP Ice spread. So I have breeding a 5 iv vaporeon and a 6 iv ditto. Every hp ice I have gotten is atk and speed even everything else perfect. Any ideas how to get the defence to drop and the speed to breed thru?
Not as easy as that sounds. I suppose I will keep trying my luck then.Get a Ditto or Eevee with the desired HP Ice spread.
I'd try to catch a Ditto (or anything male in the field egg group) with 30 Def IVs. Then use a Power Item to pass that Def on to the offspring, switch the offspring with Ditto, and keep doing that until you get your HP mon.Not as easy as that sounds. I suppose I will keep trying my luck then.
I've been running into the same problem lately, but only with 40-ish turns long battles. I don't know if the length actually matters, but that's all I can give.Does anyone know why some battle videos can't be made public?
My 31 speed IV Chlorophyll Venusaur just got outsped by a Charizard-Y in the sun.. how is that possible?
No, it was on the very first turn of the battle. It must have been Chlorophyll activating on the second turn then, thanks!Did it possibly set up Tailwind? If it did, then it would outrun Venusaur even in the sun. Also, iirc, Chlorophyll doesn't take effect until turn 2.

Charizard's speed stays the same it is in its normal form in both of its mega forms since they all have base 100 base speed.Something like this happened to me, except my opponent was on the business end of his Charizard Y fainting due to rain being in effect at the start of the turn and it fell to my Swift Swimmer whose speed is dependent on rain.
My guess is turn order is dictated before Charizard Y's Mega Evolution. The next turn though tells a different story.
But sun gets set up only when Char Y Mega Evolves, right? Maybe that's why.Charizard's speed stays the same it is in its normal form in both of its mega forms since they all have base 100 base speed.
Did Charizard Mega evolve the turn it out sped you? If so, speed boosts don't come into calculation until the next turn. Same tas when a Mega evo occurs. My 31 speed IV Chlorophyll Venusaur just got outsped by a Charizard-Y in the sun.. how is that possible?
Correct. But your Venusaur with max speed outside of the sun has 284 speed. Charizard Y with Modest nature has 299 regardless of mega evolution. Already you are losing the speed battle so Charizard will naturally go first. But since turn order was already dictated before the evolution and forthcoming of the sun, your Venusaur was set to fall no matter what. This is also why my Swift Swimmer beat Charizard Y in the sun because rain was in effect at the start of the turn and therefore turn order was already dictated.Charizard's speed stays the same it is in its normal form in both of its mega forms since they all have base 100 base speed.
I see what you mean, thanks for the info! I'll be sure to not stay in the first turn next time.Correct. But your Venusaur with max speed outside of the sun has 284 speed. If your Venusaur made it to turn 2, it will have 568 speed and will go first against Mega Charizard Y.
Yes, but Venusaur's doesn't. Chlorophyll says right in the tooltip, it doesn't take effect the turn the sun turns harsh.Charizard's speed stays the same it is in its normal form in both of its mega forms since they all have base 100 base speed.
Trick is more useful on Choice Specs sets as you can nuke things with Draco Meteor and trick the specs to the opponent once the threats are gone, that is if fairies aren't around to absorb the Draco Meteors. How valuable is trick on Latios? My life orb set doesnt need it so I was wondering if I would be making a huge mistake by deleting it
I think you should ask this at one of these:Working on my VGC Legal team and I was hoping for some input, and possibly a suggestion for the 6th Pokemon. What I have so far is:
Choice Scarf Tyratitar
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Jolly
~ Crunch
~ Pursuit
~ Earthquake
~ Stone Edge
First guy I picked for this team, because TTar is just a beast. Choice Scarf allows him to be a powerful revenge killer, and yet he's still bulky enough to just switch in every now and them and force a switch or check Talonflame.
Garchompite Garchomp
Naughty
180 Atk/ 252 SpA/ 78 Spe
~ Draco Meteor
~ Earthquake
~ Fire Blast
~ Stone Edge
Mega-Garchomp is just so well suited for this role, especially with SS and Sand Force making Edgequake a truely frightening attack combo.
Dreadplate Bisharp
Adamant
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 Def
~ Pursuit
~ Sucker Punch
~ Iron Head
~ Stealth Rock
Defiant and SR in one set feels too good to pass up, but I'm still a little shaky on this one. Fighting is getting to be a bit of a weakness, and I feel like the draw of Bisharp is, in part, Knock Off. Since Knock Off isn't VGC legal I'm calling into question how well this Pokemon can pull his weight.
Sitrus Berry Azumarill
Adamant
252 HP/ 252 Atk/ 4 SpD
~ Belly Drum
~ Aqua Jet
~ Play Rough
~ Waterfall
My answer to the growing fighting weakness. Azumarill is honestly just a good Pokemon to keep around though. Belly Drum + Aqua Jet is extremely hard to deal with residual SS damage and SR hazards.
Chesto Berry Rotom-W
Calm
248 HP/ 252 SpD/ 8 Def
~ Will-O-Wisp
~ Hydro Pump
~ Volt Swicth
~ Rest
It's such a common Pokemon, so I really hate being so reliant on it, but it's also just so good... You don't get to be in the top 8 by being awful.
Life Orb Roserade
Timid
252 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
~ Sleep Powder
~ Spikes
~ Leaf Storm/ Giga Drain?
~ Sludge Bumb
Honestly I don't know, I was just running out of ideas. The additional residual damage is nice, and being a decent check to Azumarill is cool. Not too attached to this one.
