For any user asking on this forum with the intention of trading their soft reset, if the IVS aren't 30-31 it's a toss. Anything else is up to you if it's for personal use.
Trade wise, toss. Personal use, toss as well. Defense is just too low. If you want to keep something and aren't planning on using a mixed set, anything less than 28 in defensive stats and or non-boosted stats is a toss

Thank you, guys. Tossed and kept Modest 31/x/28/31/31/31. That one was good enough for me.

Soft-resetting the anniversary Mew and IDK if I should keep or toss because of that Attack IV.

Mew - #151 (Adamant) : 31 / 30 / 31 / 4 / 31 / 31
252+ Atk Mew Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Garchomp: 81-96 (19.2 - 22.8%) -- possible 5HKO
(81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96)

30 IV 252+ Atk Mew Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Garchomp: 80-95 (19 - 22.6%) -- possible 5HKO
(80, 81, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95)

See the difference? 1 HP (at level 100). Now watch this:

252+ Atk Mew Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Garchomp: 43-51 (20 - 23.7%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
(43, 43, 44, 44, 45, 45, 46, 46, 47, 47, 48, 48, 49, 49, 50, 51)

30 IV 252+ Atk Mew Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 164+ Def Garchomp: 43-51 (20 - 23.7%) -- guaranteed 5HKO
(43, 43, 44, 44, 45, 45, 46, 46, 47, 47, 48, 48, 49, 49, 50, 51)

At level 50.

One thing I'm not ok with this otherwise excellent subforum (best thing on smogon imo) is the fact that most people that RNG/SR are mostly collectors but definitely not battlers. Which is a double edge sword because as you can tell from those calcs, IT DOES NOT MATTER. However, most people you will be trading with have that mentality I don't know if because they just repeat it collectively or because it doesn't "look good". So it surely is up to you. I would have kept that and would not have any issue trading for it; most guys here will turn it down because "not 31".

I don't know how things became this way to be honest. Back in Gen 4, even with RNG abuse, you would see spreads like Jolly 31/31/31/x/30/31 or Careful/Adamant 31/30/31/x/31/31 and I just remember one or two guys making a fuss about it. Now that we have to soft reset and have even less control on IVs it seems everyone is into making flawless pokes collect dust on their boxes lol.

I don't think anyone is acting like a few IV points off flawless is going to turn every 2hko into a 3hko, but don't act like it doesn't change anything.

First off you seem to be ignoring the fact that you need fewer EVs to reach X stat with a 31 IV compared to a 30 IV, if I only wanted to hit 166 (max for lvl 50 Adamant Mew with a 30 Atk IV) a 31 IV would save you 4 EVs to stick in some other stat (244 vs 248 for anyone that cares).

Second you posted a single lvl 50 calc, here's another:
(30 IV) 252+ Atk Mew Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mew: 52-62 (29.5 - 35.2%) -- 17.8% chance to 3HKO
(31 IV) 252+ Atk Mew Earthquake vs. 4 HP / 0 Def Mew: 53-63 (30.1 - 35.7%) -- 34.9% chance to 3HKO
oh look, an actual difference, and a 17.1% change to the chance of 3HKOing, anyone using a 30 IV in Attack in the upcoming Adamant EQ Mew vs Adamant EQ Mew competition* is getting BTFO.

These may not be big differences and they may not matter 99% of the time, but to say it doesn't make any difference is just stupid.

*not an actual competition, but an all Mew tournament would be pretty awesome.

It's Seed Flare time.

Because (I feel like I say this way too often) spreads are limited in pre-gen 5 RNG. For example the best possible Tauros Jolly spread is 29/31/31/x/30/31 (maybe defence is 30 instead of sp. def) but you get the idea. Limited spreads + rare encounter slots = non-flawless spreads, and there is literally nothing you can do about it.

Have a reddit account? Try spending some time in /r/friendsafari .
I spent about two weeks on there and I have amassed 60 friends with 100+ unique Pokémon between them.

I'm putting the last few pieces of my Kanto Classic team together, and I just need a couple of things, primarily a HA Abra spitback, with Ultra, Luxury, or Premeir being the ideal ball choices. I don't have the Safari myself and haven't had great luck DexNaving in Granite Cave.

I could also use a clone of my Clefairy, I really dont want to evolve the one I've been abusing Friend Guard with in the Maison.

Hi guys!
I want a Lugia from the AS I can use in the March International, I play in OR so I cannot have him. I have the black Rayquaza I can trade.
Thanks

You should post the iv's and nature of your Rayquaza.

Or just post for one in the giveaway section.

You can and could even back then radar abuse for most mons even if it involved radar + weather (not fun BTW) or do cute charm if you wanted the extra point really bad. As an old time RNGer, I am aware of those limitations, my point wasn't availability, it was about the acceptance of non 31 stats being about the same. If a 30 offensive stat would be "unacceptable" then no one would use hidden power grass or fire because that 30 SpAtk. You know how Modest HP fire Magnezone is a thing, right?

We def agree on your last statement. About your calculation, 4 HP Mew at level 50 gives you 176 HP, so the 0.5% difference you found on your calculation equals less than 0.9 HP lol. Don't even know how the game accounts for that, if at all. (Include lefties into the mix and it all goes into rolls difference not IVs)

I'm kind of new in this, sorry. It is from a event last year. How do I check its ivs?
Thanks
You plan to enter a tournament but have no idea how to figure out your pokemons ivs??? Go to google type in a Generation 6th iv calculator and use metalkids iv calculator. I have a few legendaries with great ivs I can give you as well and I can help you throw together a solid team. Hope that helps and feel free to ask me more questions.

LF someone to PP Max a team of mine (only ~11 moves need the PP boost). You may clone, keep and trade whatever you want - everything is either bred by me (OT: Henning) or is fully redis. PM me!

I know something about iv, I've iv trained some pokes, however I assumed they were reseted because they were breeded. I didn't know there is a calculator to a poke eu received.
About the super training, does the reset bag really works?
Sorry for the dumb questions.

Thank you for the help.
