I am playing a Generation VI game, and I would like to trade for a Froakie with the Protean Ability. In return, I can trade a LV. 1 Male Chespin with
the Overgrow Ability or a LV.1 Male Fennekin with the Blaze Ability.
I am playing a Generation VI game, and I would like to trade for a Yveltal. In return, I can trade a Xerneas, Zygarde, Mewtwo or almost any Pokemon in any of Kalos' Pokedexes. I would also like to immediately reverse the trade; I am only interested in Yveltal's Pokedex entry.
Does anyone have access to a brave regi eleki they can name and send to me via violet I offer a kyogre I don’t have much I got it from heart gold silver
That and ocd because it won’t show brave when i nature mint it
Oh ok. Mine isn't brave so I can't help.
Statistically speaking no, especially when ignoring specific cases like RNG Manipulation (certain shiny + IV combos are only possible on certain TID + SID combos, more notably when not breeding), or the Cute Charm bug. The number of PIDs that are shiny are always the same per save file given how the shininess calculation goes.Given that TIDs and SIDs are used to determine shininess, do different save files have different shiny chances (ignoring RNG manipulation and stuff like the cute charm glitch)? Does this depend on the generation?
Both, although the exact details vary per generation, which is what makes egg RNG manip a bit more challenging than the rest, but you can often afford to just look for a seed that nets what you want when determinating both the egg generation and egg receiving if you have parents with desirable IVs.Is an egg's shininess determined when the egg is generated or when the player receives the egg? Does this depend on the generation?
Depends on your hunting method, more specifically it's generally easier to perform shiny hunting in an emulator as there's a ton of features and scripts that simplify the process, which Gen IV is deeply covered already, while for BDSP your best way to track RNG is by tracking the player's blinking with a computer and so on, which can be more complicated. As with how Switch games work you can't go for a specific seed per-say, it's way harder to look for a proper shiny + IV combo, so it'd really depend on your resources and willingness to do stuff. Is it easier to do Poke radar shiny hunting in DPPt than BDSP? I have heard that the chance of continuing a chain in DPPt is 98% if you catch the Pokemon in the shaking grass 4 tiles away from the player, and all of the chances in BDSP are lower than that.
As each generation advances RNG differently, yes, this varies a lot, if the first question is to merely ensure an encounter without having to worry about RNG messing it up elsewhere, I'd recommend to just look for a seed that lets you get a shiny on the first chain, here's a good guide for that regarding DPPt.When using a Poke radar, is it possible for a shiny patch to appear exactly 1 tile north of the player? Does this depend on the generation? Does XY even have shiny patches?
When the grass starts shaking, usually all the traits of the Pokemon are usually determined immediately, the only notable exception to this rule of thumb are eggs. I mainly comment for Gen IV as this shiny hunting method isn't too developed regarding RNG manip for Gen VI or VIII.When is a Poke radar Pokemon's gender determined? Is it when the grass starts shaking or when the player walks into the grass? Does this depend on the generation?
Soft-resetting generally changes the initial seed in general, meaning that unless you're retail-hunting you shouldn't rely on that, and the Lucky Power will change encounter slots (meaning that a given shiny + ID combo can go but for another Pokemon species than intended), generally you should only use that if the combination of traits regarding what you want isn't normally obtainable otherwise. If you soft reset in B2W2 with the lucky pass power 3, will the game reroll every wild Pokemon's shininess each time you encounter them, or will the pass power and soft resetting mess with the RNG somehow?
HGSS does not use the inputs from the player like that to determine RNG, and in any case there isn't a faster way, you can however do a save state and use the same seed to shiny hunt the three starters, IIRC it's a matter of 4 advances that changes which one gets the IVs + shiny combo in relation to the target (so 4 advances before the proper one, the proper one, then 4 advances after that), the starter Pokemon will appear as shiny before actually selecting it if it is shiny. How can you shiny hunt the starter faster in HGSS? Using fast text speed and saving right in front of the Poke balls are obvious, but is there anything else you can do? Like clamping down the L and R buttons?
Where can I find the details for each generation? Both, although the exact details vary per generation, which is what makes egg RNG manip a bit more challenging than the rest,
Is it true that the different games have different chances of continuing the chain? Which one is easier to shiny hunt without RNG manipulation?Depends on your hunting method, more specifically it's generally easier to perform shiny hunting in an emulator as there's a ton of features and scripts that simplify the process, which Gen IV is deeply covered already, while for BDSP your best way to track RNG is by tracking the player's blinking with a computer and so on, which can be more complicated. The link you gave me doesn't say anything about where the shiny patches can generate. Should I download the Pokefinder build and try generating a few patches myself? As each generation advances RNG differently, yes, this varies a lot, if the first question is to merely ensure an encounter without having to worry about RNG messing it up elsewhere, I'd recommend to just look for a seed that lets you get a shiny on the first chain, here's a good guide for that regarding DPPt.
What if I'm not RNG manipulating? Does B2W2 have "shiny frames" or anything like that, or does it change the seeds each time? In other words, will soft resetting each time the pass power wears off make the hunt take longer than farming pass powers?Soft-resetting generally changes the initial seed in general, meaning that unless you're retail-hunting you shouldn't rely on that, and the Lucky Power will change encounter slots (meaning that a given shiny + ID combo can go but for another Pokemon species than intended), generally you should only use that if the combination of traits regarding what you want isn't normally obtainable otherwise.
Sorry if this wasn't clear earlier, but I was asking if there were ways to do more soft resets per hour, not to raise the shiny chance of each soft reset. This is for "retail" hunting, not emulators.HGSS does not use the inputs from the player like that to determine RNG, and in any case there isn't a faster way, you can however do a save state and use the same seed to shiny hunt the three starters, IIRC it's a matter of 4 advances that changes which one gets the IVs + shiny combo in relation to the target (so 4 advances before the proper one, the proper one, then 4 advances after that), the starter Pokemon will appear as shiny before actually selecting it if it is shiny.
The only thing you can do to increase your shiny odds are getting the shiny charm. If you're breeding, then a forgein parent will increase the odds.Where can I find the details for each generation? Is it true that the different games have different chances of continuing the chain? This Tweet claims that in BDSP, one save file can have shiny odds as low as 1/4109 or as high as 1/4082. Is this true? If it is, are there any other examples of different odds like this in other games? The number of PIDs that are shiny are always the same per save file given how the shininess calculation goes.
That is a Unity related bug, the games built on the normal engine have never had issues like this. This Tweet claims that in BDSP, one save file can have shiny odds as low as 1/4109 or as high as 1/4082. Is this true? If it is, are there any other examples of different odds like this in other games?
Do you still need this? If so head over to the wifi Discord as someone may be able to help as it is tradeable. Is it possible to get TM208 Whirlpool through trade? I'm playing Scarlet but don't have the DLC. If this works, can somebody please help me out? Thanks.
