For context: Tace was a newer player at this point in time and just won a WCOP game, improving his record to 2-0. I was happy that he was successful because I knew this would open doors for him in the future for other tournaments such as Smogon Snake Draft. I did not know his race or really much about him besides that he was a teammate of some of my friends and seemed very chill in chat settings, so I messaged him congratulating him and phrased it in an insensitive fashion. After finding out that it could have been perceived as offensive, I went out of my way to apologize and nothing of this nature has happened since then. This does NOT excuse what I said, but all I can do now is make sure to be my best self in the present and future, which I strive to do.
