A long time ago, the administration here promised Smogon t-shirts to the winner of a particular tournament. Unfortunately, we never really got our act together and made the t-shirts.

... over one million posts later to the present ...

I'd like to try the shirt idea again. Not only to finally reward the people who rightly deserve them... not only because I want one myself... but because people in the past expressed interest in the idea. We have an amazing community of artists here.

Anyone interested in the idea still? Anyone have ideas for shirts? Discuss.
 
I remember from last time that plenty of people wanted to wear their shirts in public without coming out of the Pokecloset, so many of them preferred if it wasn't much more than the Koffing's skull. I do recall some kickass designs for that.
 
I'm certainly still interested in the idea, although I don't really have any great ideas. We had come to some sort of a decision in the last thread iirc.
 
I like this idea! There could be shirts with koffing on the front of it and the logo on the back. I know, I'm so original.
 
I'd love one, it would piss of my missus something chronic.

I suppose you could have the Smogon insignia on each t-shirt and have both Pokemon and non-Pokemon shirts, however for the non-Pokemon I feel they should be heavily influenced by the ways of Smogon, Best Smogon Quotes or 5-star firebot threads.

For example
"So I was wondering who to PAWN LIKE A DOG
Then this fellow came up named Glen the Frog
Epic battles happened, with much STRENTH and GLEE
Erotically he shouted "GET THE REPTILE TO ME"
Like I cared for his poor corrupted soul
I said: ON DIS SERVER, I WIN FOR ALL
Chuckling and fufufufuing, I proceeded to fill my pockets
Killing and raping each of his Pokemon, for all are a sockets
Since that day, they see me quickly and back away faster
Such is the fate of a true Pokemon master"

I personally would love a t-shirt that states "It takes a real man to play a Pink DS and Pokemon"
 
Neither would I but it was the most unrelated to Pokemon thing I could find in a short space time.

You could always have tributes to hazerider?

I am not fully interactive with Firebot/Irc, so I couldn't really give the better examples
 
I am definitely still interested in this idea, though I don't really have much artistic skill to contribute to this. I do remember there being some incredibly kickass designs from before though.
 
Basically what happened last time is that we all settled on an awesome design and Toy offered to make them all and then we'd pay him to send them to us. He said he was going to make one just to show everyone what they look like. The only problem with the whole thing is that Toy is a goddamn moron got banned, so nothing ever came to fruition.

I doubt that thread is saved, but I bet kholdstaire has some of those designs saved.
 
You could put texts on it like inside jokes along with the logo. I totally would wear a shirt with one of these even if nobody gets the joke.

What? When? I don't want people making shirts on their own, I was going to get people to send me image files and then having cafepress or other internet shirt shop equiv make the shirts

I doubt that thread is saved, but I bet kholdstaire has some of those designs saved.

I like Mekkah's idea. But I also support the lack of Pokemon on the shirt. Koffing symbol is fine, but no Koffing itself, unless it isn't recognizable as Koffing (which defeats the point).
 
The Koffing emblem wouldnt be bad at all. Discrete and all.

The quotes Mekkah posted are funny enough to but put on shirts as well. Ill try and come up with something to post a little later.

Oh man, this is a long time ago, maybe over a year. We had a thread here in Congregation where everyone weighed in with their own opinions and designs.

I really don't know where to begin looking for the thread, but I'm going to give it a shot right now and see what I can turn up.

EDIT: Found this. Apparently toy got banned right as he was making the shirts. In Shiv's post, he links to the older thread where we discussed designs, but the thread isn't active.
 
I definitely like this idea. I hope we can get this to work. I'll try to think of some ideas and I'll re-edit this post or make a new one with the ideas.

Also, i know some of you guys may not be willing to come out of the pokecloset, but is a Koffing really so bad?
