You highlight the text you want to link, click the Link button (It should look like this http://imgur.com/ju3NHfX), enter the link, andd it should directly link to the thread / post you want. So for example, if I wanted to link to your post, it would look like this.

above method works too
On threads where I've toggled "watch thread", and have alerts on, I some times don't get alerts from the thread when a new reply is posted. Opening the thread manually makes alerts from the thread pop up again. This mostly just happens with the PS! Bug Report Thread and the Wi-Fi SQSR Thread. Does anyone Know why this happens?
This happens when you aren't up to date with a thread.

Oh, well I was looking for a thread with info for beginners here. I kinda wanted to know about some of the formats that are used and what I should start with. Things like that. I tried looking at the Competative thread, but I really don't know where to start.

Awesome, thanks! Oh, one more question. I saw that there was a tutoring thing. Is it for getting used to competative and things like that? If so, are there any other ways to sign up for tutoring other than waiting for the next round of signups?

Generally we prefer that those who sign up for b101 have at least a basic grasp of competitive battling. Idk if you do or not, but if you do, great! Sign up when the sign ups go up (the schedule is posted in the b101 forum). If not, then a good place to start is the competitive tutoring room on ps.

It doesn't have to be from Google Images specifically, just right click on the image you want to use, then click "Copy Image URL", and paste that into the message with BB Code.

Hi! I've been here on Smogon for a short while and I just want to ask if there any way I could contribute to the community as I really want to try to help out here. I'm not extremely skilled in battling so I don't feel don't feel comfortable enough to do RMTs or an analysis, so I want to know if there's any other way, thanks!! :)
hi there, i think it's great that you're wanting to contribute to the smogon community. you certainly don't have to be good at competitive battling to contribute, you could make scripts for youtube videos, make the graphics for vids, host tournaments, posting in the orange island threads (orange islands is where people talk about pokemon anime/games), or regularly hosting giveaways. more can be found out here though : http://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/want-to-contribute-to-smogon-heres-how.3526243/
