as for the whole " this whole tour is smogon shit" tbh the only reason every one comes to smogon is because its the site that has the best competition / tournaments around. They might not consider themselves "smogon" players though.

That may be true for some people, but most players on Marriland and GameFAQs are Smogon players. The reason why they are on those teams is because they are honoring their roots and wanting to play with their friends. That's why this is a cool tournament because people have a choice of who they want to play for if they have been apart of more than one community. If this were truely a tournament to decide the best site, I don't doubt most of those players would align themselves elsewhere. But that is not the case.

When i said smogon players I meant more for tournaments like this. So ya we agree.
 
If this becomes an annual tournament, I would like to see it increased to 16 websites. Then we can avoid teams such as Marriland / Team Uber / Crazy Amazing League and get more people involved.
