No wonder it was taking way longer than usual to find battles. All those poor 10 year olds with OMG DIALGAS can't log on.

Drifblim is awesome on wi-fi. Except that time I just switched instead of BPing...I still won, but srsly.
 
I just played some dude with a Metagross, and after the battle we exchanged friend passes. I looked at his card and lol, the Metagross had perfect IVs, was Adamant, and was met in Rt. 224 at level 51. lol.

I just logged with a Palkia on my team, but I couldn't find anybody to connect with when I selected Random battle. Apparently ubers can still be used in friend battles though. At the very least, now I can start using teams of favourite Pokemon without a team of 6 Mewtwo's showing it's face.

A rather smart move, imo. Even if stuff like Entei and Articuno were banned.

I also just battled "Jesus".

And isn't kind of weird that it reverts custom names UNLESS they've been traded over GTS?

Wait, you mean in PBR? I've battled lots of Legends there. Is this a recent change? If so, Nintendo gets a big 'thank you' from me. Now if they'd just institute Species Clause, Sleep Clause, and Freeze Clause...
 
Wait-wha?? When did this banning thing occur? I highly doubt that...but if that's a new update, then PBR just got a little more awesome. I'm going to get on now and do a few to check.

EDIT: Yup...all legendaries are cut off, even things like Heatran and Articuno. Well that's a plus..kinda. Or you know they could've made it a toggle option or something.
 
Ah, no wonder my 2vs2 Uber team couldn't log on to Wi-fi...

Well, at least we won't be facing any "0ob3r n00b3rz" anymore...

I see two possibilities here. Either they just forgot to do this earlier, or (hopefully) they've been monitoring PBR and have figured out that legends are being abused. If the latter is the case, then we may be able to influence rule changes that we want to see. For instance, if we want Sleep Clause, we can abuse Sleep. If we want Wobbuffet banned (I don't, but I know it's a popular opinion), then abuse that.

EDIT: Does it tell you why you can't log on, or does it just give you an error message?

What about Blissey?

EDIT: Most of us use Blissey, so we may accidentaly get it banned. I'm not suggesting that we ban it (although it would be interesting times in Sinnoh if this happens). Sorry if I mislead anybody. :)
 
Heh, when you think about, PBR already banning hacked pokes and now legends from random battles, Nintendo is really stepping up to regulate noobs and their hacked pokemon.
 
It's weird that they didn't just ban the Pokemon they have banned from Battle Tower. It's too bad though. I really did want to play a uber abusing noob or something ^_^ At least I got one of those on GameFAQs with the DS. I played a team of Dialga, Giratina, Groudon, Groudon, Groudon, and Groudon!

I got beaten by a team of three Rattata, all with Endeavor, Quick Attack, and Focus Sash. It was embarrassing. I've also seen plenty of teams with mulitple of the same Über.
 
I just fought a manaphy on PBR wifi random battle not 5 minutes ago, yet my regirock and manaphy remain unusable...

That's some good hacking on my opponent's part, either that or Nintendo has no clue wtf they are doing.

well, if you have legendaries/badly hacked guys in your team it will say something along the lines of "Cannot connect because some of the pokemon in your team are not allowed". If you can connect because of the internets it will just give you an error code.

..and actually they must have done this just last night.... because come to think of it I fought a Heatran at 11:00PM

I'm guessing the latter. I've heard (albeit third-hand) that if you reset your Battle Pass, you can still use Legendaries. I lack specifics, however.
 
Just got it, and took a few colliseums down, pretty simple... although lost at Neon in 3rd round because I couldn't beat my own Soul Dew Latias.

Anyway, I tried out the wifi battling with it, and I was furious.
I realized I couldn't load my normal card because it contained legendaries [Latias, Uxie, and Mespirit, only threw uxie an mespririt on there because they were lv 50 and i wanted to fill the card]

Says I couldn't use them, fine w/e no legendaries.. no problem.. I hate ubers anyway.
So I use a rental card, with like Grotle, Monferno, and Prinplup or whatever.
I find out I'm facing some dude with like Rypherior, Scept, Blaziken, Dragonite... I thought it was funny.
For some reason, he leads with Rypherior, and i happen to lead with Monferno[hoping to catch sceptile]
Either way, I grass knot [lol] and ohko Rypherior.
and dude disconnects.

Seriously man, thats pathetic. I really hope this isn't a frequent occasion.
 
I've had 30 or 40 battles, and only 3 people have disconnected on me. Two times were at the end of the match and once was at the beginning. It's not all that common.

Since I don't think stats are kept, it doesn't really matter. It's just a minor annoyance.
