CUSTOM AVATARS

This season, each team will have access to its very own custom PS avatar that players can use for their games. These avatars will be exclusive to the team in question, and will feature the team's mascot Pokemon. Thanks to Kalalokki for his amazing work preparing these avatars.

I'll let Kalalokki post the new sprites, but in the meantime, a brief Q&A:

Who has access to these custom PS avatars?
All official members of an SPL team will have access to that team's avatar. Unofficial members, helpers, etc., will not be allowed to use it.

I already have a custom avatar. Will this override it?
No. If you already have a custom avatar, you will still have access to it. This will just be a special extra avatar you can use.

Am I required to use the avatar when I play my SPL games?
No, if there is another PS avatar you would prefer to use, you can do so. But why not show off your team colors in style?

How do I access my team's avatar? Each team will be given a special command that they can use to switch to their team's avatar. This command will only be usable by the official PS account associated with your forum account (i.e. the account you have voiced on smogtours).

Can each player get a different custom avatar?
No, every member of a team has access to the same custom avatar.

Can my team make changes to our custom avatar?
No. Sprites have already been selected, created and re-colored, approved by Zarel for use and uploaded to the server. Size and color limitations played a big role in selecting the sprites we did, so they will not be able to be modified.

This avatar is awesome! Can I keep it forever?
These avatars will only be available for the duration of SPL X.

SPL X POWER RANKINGS

The yearly SPL Power Rankings are finally up, would love to give a special shoutout to all the people who contributed, but especially to all the people who helped with GP (The Dutch Plumberjack, Electrolyte, Eyan, lotiasite, martha, talkingtree), Quite Quiet for the HTML, and Zracknel with art. Let us know what you think in the commencement thread, and good luck to every team!

SPL MODE

SPL players have access to a special custom mode for all SPL games! Activating this mode will make the battle take place in an SPL-themed arena with custom battle music. To view it in action, check out these replays:

To activate SPL Mode, BOTH players must use the command /splmode prior to their game. If only one players uses the /splmode command, the game will not start and you will receive a message letting you know that only one player selected SPL mode.

SPL mode is available to anyone on the custom avatar list. Please do not use SPL mode for non-SPL games; doing so may result in revocation of avatar/SPL mode privileges and being devoiced on smogtours.
