SadisticNarwhal vs. MetalGro$$ - Game 2 - Turn 46
spies vs. Hayburner - Game 2 - Turn 130
Hyper Beam is used as the last move on Exeggutor to power through paralyzed Jynx and Alakazam who block sleep, but in Game 2 of SadisticNarwhal vs. MetalGro$$ we see it take out a Chansey. On Turn 45, Exeggutor gets a lucky Psychic crit which drops Chansey to 40% - exactly the minimum damage Hyper Beam does. Through two weeks of SPL, Hyper Beam had only been used on Exeggutor once so SadisticNarwhal probably feel the need to scout for it.
With Chansey gone, MetalGro$$ had no switch in to Exeggutor and later Starmie. They had to switch in Tauros of all things to kill Exeggutor and take a Psychic in the process. Once Starmie came in afterward, MetalGro$$ had no way to prevent their Tauros from getting paralyzed and effectively put the game away.
In Game 2 of spies vs. Hayburner, a similar situation occurred. On Turn 130, Hayburner is feeling comfortable with their 40% Chansey that can't get slept against spies's Exeggutor that shouldn't be able to kill it without booming. However, when Hyper Beam is revealed and Chansey is dead with Exeggutor still healthy, the game is pretty much over. Twice this week, Hyper Beam Exeggutor has come in extremely clutch and sealed wins for both SadisticNarwhal and spies.

Heroic Troller vs. SMB - Game 1 & Game 2
Heroic Troller brought the same team both games against SMB and it payed off! Slowbro here is the star of the show, which has now gotten 5 wins in 7 appearances thus far. Heroic Troller has been utilizing an Amnesia / Surf / Thunder Wave / Rest set which was able to set up all the way to +6 against Chansey and sleeping Starmie in Game 1 and then sleeping Jolteon and paralyzed Starmie in Game 2. In Game 1, it left Chansey at 32% and paralyzed, killed a sleeping Starmie, and forced SMB to explode with his Cloyster, which Heroic Troller predicted and sacked his frozen Starmie too. When it came back in later, it was able to boost to +2 and paralyze Tauros, which basically sealed the game for Heroic Troller. Likewise, in Game 2, it did >50% to Starmie, killed off SMB's frozen Chansey, and paralyzed Victreebel. This eventually let Tauros clean up and win the set 2-0.
Heroic Troller supported Slowbro with the Big 3 and Starmie + Exeggutor. In the lead spot, Starmie can spread paralysis to help Slowbro and friends later on, as well as function as a Sleep sack. Exeggutor resists Zapdos and Jolteon's Thunderbolt (has to watch out for Zapdos Drill Peck however) and as one of the viable solo sleepers, it frees up Chansey to run BoltBeam coverage and Thunder Wave since it doesn't need Sing anymore.
A major reason why Slowbro has seen so much success is the lack of Jolteon and Zapdos (#9 and #13 in overall usage) and Starmie being the most popular lead which often gets sacked to sleep and therefore can't check Slowbro. I wonder if the Electrics will pick up in usage to check the rising Slowbro, and Zapdos in particular since it does really well against these 6. If so, Slowbro users could go Mie-Don-Bro for a better matchup against Electrics (especially Zapdos since Exeggutor can somewhat check Jolteon) and run Sing Chansey.
USAGE STATS TRENDS
1. Starmie was brought 21/22 (!) times, putting it in the same usage amount as the Big 3.
2. After being 8th in usage last week, Exeggutor shot right back up to 5th with >50% usage.

Is it too early to say that Bro's anti-meta? At the very least, people running Sing Chans gives it a prime setup opportunity, while if people forgo Egg and absorb sleep w Star, I guess that's 2 more nuisances out of the way for it. That said, maybe electric usage being low is a bit of an anomaly idk

Ok but seriously, it's interesting seeing Exeggutor experience a high win rate despite its worsened reputation and lower usage. I'm eager to see how the meta around it progresses after SPL, it's a subject of much intrigue to me. Something tells me it's going to jump back up again.
