Lickilicky (F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 40 HP / 252 Atk / 216 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Double-Edge/Body Slam
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Explosion

pretty straight forward set. double-edge is your strongest stab move, but body slam is still somewhat respectable and has no recoil. knock is for ghosts and for the added utility, eq for rocks + steels (+ fisk). explosion in the last slot is a last-ditch effort and an absolute nuke. 216 speed evs lets licky hit 190 speed, outpacing adamant max speed throh. own tempo and oblivious are the obvious choices for the ability over cloud nine to block intimidate btw.

edit: body slam misses out on some 2hkos vs some variants of throh i found out.
252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Double-Edge vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Throh: 277-327 (62.3 - 73.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Body Slam vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Throh: 196-232 (44.1 - 52.2%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Double-Edge vs. 240 HP / 52 Def Throh: 261-307 (59.1 - 69.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Body Slam vs. 240 HP / 52 Def Throh: 186-219 (42.1 - 49.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Double-Edge vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Throh: 277-327 (72.7 - 85.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after burn damage
252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Body Slam vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Throh: 196-232 (51.4 - 60.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after burn damage

also, explosion nets the ko on all variants of throh except fully phys def (do people run this? not sure), which needs a bit of prior damage or a roll
252+ Atk Choice Band Lickilicky Explosion vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Throh: 402-474 (90.5 - 106.7%) -- 43.8% chance to OHKO

Lickilicky @ Leftovers
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 252 HP / 180 SpD / 76 Spe
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Disable
- Seismic Toss
- Block
- Rest

I might get some hate but here goes. Normally Licky is passive af, so most mons facing it usually just set up or lay hazards. This set functions as a trapper and pp stalls other passive mons (excluding ghost types for obvious r3asons, and appletun cuz apple acid and mons with recover/rest) with the help of block + disable. Most of the mons you aim to trap only really have one attacking move that threatens it (think of stunfisk fishing for spdef drops) or need set up to blow past it.

This is where disable comes to play, and once that's clicked they just sort of flail around or toxic you, which dosen't bother it due to rest. Rest also helps save some pp, so you should winthe stall war. Even outside of trapping stuff, sometimes a healthy lick can shut down choice specs/scarf mons not using a momentum move, so it does have some utility.

Speed evs are for neutral type null, as i realized some sets are dropping uturn for swords dance.

I am so sorry that I am a day late
I have had a really rough schedule for the past week, so this was to be expected, but still unacceptable. My deepest apologies.

My submission:
Curse Gyro Licky
Lickilicky @ Leftovers
Ability: Oblivious
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Curse
- Gyro Ball
- Zen Headbutt / Knock Off / Sleep Talk
- Rest

I was gonna submit Choice Specs but I was testing this set and its actually not bad. This abuses Curse's speed drop and allows the user to act as a unconventional sweeper with Licky's Goliath bulk.

Now we shall vote:

As promised, for the fourth week we will be working with Gony, Gapidash, Galardash; the Galarian Rapidash! Let's see what we can make.
:ss/Rapidash-Galar:
Standard Sets

Deadline for Submissions: Sunday September 27th 11.59pm EST
Deadline for Voting: Wednesday September 30th 11.59pm EST

P.S I was really disappointed with the lack of submissions and votes this week, and thanks to all the people who did contribute. Anybody who is unwilling to post their ideas should have no fear! We are all friends here. I encourage anybody with at least a whim of a good idea to contribute! I would love to see Next Best Thing grow a bit, and I know most of the regular contributers do as well.

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

- Play Rough
- High Horsepower

Galarian Rapidash is the fastest healing wish user in the tier, so this makes sense.

Rapidash-Galar @ Choice Band
Ability: Pastel Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Play Rough
- Zen Headbutt
- High Horsepower
- Megahorn

Galardash has some great coverage for the tier. Its STAB combination hits basically everything at least neutrally, and that gets rounded out by High Horsepower. The big move on this set is Megahorn, which allows you to almost always 2HKO Tangela after Stealth Rock damage (provided that you hit both times). Tangela normally wouldn't be bothered at all by a physical Galardash, so being able to 2HKO it on the switch is really nice.

252 Atk Choice Band Rapidash-Galar Megahorn vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Tangela: 144-170 (43.1 - 50.8%) -- 95.7% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock

(also apologies for not submitting a licky set, CB was my first choice and that got yoinked immediately)

Rapidash-Galar @ Life Orb
Ability: Pastel Veil
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 29 HP / 0 Atk
- Morning Sun
- Future Sight
- Mystical Fire
- Dazzling Gleam

Trades in boosting with CM for just being an all out attacker. You're hardly clicking Psychic moves with Galardash these days anyways bar Stored Power sets, so Future Sight isn't a bad option. With Future Sight, this pairs well with mons like Liepard and Morpeko because you can easily scare out mons like Throh and Hitmonchan with the threat of Dazzling Gleam, use Future Sight, and then come in with your Liepard and their Throh or any other Fighting-type can't safely switch in because Future Sight will bop them.

Thanks all for your submissions! I will chip in on mine:

Scarf Gapidash (I shall call it anything I want)
Rapidash-Galar @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pastel Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Psycho Cut / Zen Headbutt
- Play Rough
- High Horsepower
- Healing Wish / Megahorn

Scarf Gapidash has a monstrous speed-tier. It is a prime revenge-killer with a potent attack stat and can additionally run Adamant Nature > Jolly because of this. Psycho Cut > Zen Headbutt allows for better accuracy and therefore more guaranteed potency as Gapidash doesn't have its wanted bulk compared to its Calm Mind sets which allow it to have longevity while sweeping. Healing Wish is really nice support as well.

After a while of sitting and thinking and doing other things around the house before posting this a bit late (due to a little conversation I had earlier today), I have come to the conclusion that we will run with a new system - I will update the OP shortly in accordance to this.

Instead of a 4 days : 3 days ratio of submissions : voting, we will go with a 5 : 2 ratio. This will keep the momentum of good submissions. Additionally, the hall of fame will get the top 3 sets per week (given that 2nd and 3rd get 3 or more votes per week - 3 because not many people vote nowadays) so that there are multiple, creative sets that people like in the section where people will steal all of these sets. This allows people to still win through votes, so that I don't have to just pick 3 sets that I think are good as to not offend anybody. Thanks to Specs, PTF, Estarossa and Meri Berry for having this conversation with me, it was really helpful :D. The top 3 submissions for this week will go into the hall of fame.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This week, we work with Gourgeist. You will be able to work with any size, so I expect more submissions! Happy creating!

Standard Sets Size Small
Standard Sets Size Normal
Standard Sets Size Large (No sets here)
Standard Sets Size Super

Deadline for Submissions: Monday 5th October 11.59pm EST
Deadline for Voting: Thursday 8th October 12.00am EST (This is my birthday so I'll give u a little treat ;))

May I also ask that you put the names of your set at the top of your post so there is no confusion with what to name/call it please. Thanks!

Trick Room Attacker (Super)

Gourgeist-Super @ Life Orb
Ability: Frisk
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Brave Nature
- Trick Room
- Poltergeist
- Power Whip
- Pain Split

It's slow, so using trick room as a speed booster can help, and it deters setup sweepers with speed boosting moves such as Lilligant and Falinks.
