And with that vote, Slowpoke92i has won with Throat Chop Pangoro! Congrats!

Week 6: Escavalier
:ss/escavalier:
Escavalier @ Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 252 HP / 16 Atk / 116 Def / 80 SpD / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Megahorn
- Iron Head
- Knock Off
- Close Combat

Despite its RU status, Escavalier is gaining a lot of attention as a defensive Pokemon. Its great typing allows it to completely stonewall Roserade, a Pokemon that nearly nothing else can reliably handle, and it's also not passive at all thanks to its beefy Attack stat and great coverage. Luring this threat can open up Pokemon like Roserade, Haxorus and a bunch more; how will you do it?

Submission are due by Monday, April 27th.

reserving toxtricity

:ss/toxtricity:
Toxtricity @ Throat Spray
Ability: Punk Rock
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Shift Gear
- Boomburst
- Overdrive
- Fire Punch

Alright let's go. I knew exactly what to do here. Having trouble with those escavalier's tanking your special moves? No worries! Boost up and hit it with a spicy fire punch and no longer will you have trouble with this meddlesome bug.

+1 0 Atk Toxtricity Fire Punch vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Escavalier: 308-364 (89.5 - 105.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

That is all. Enjoy your day everyone/

fire fang drapion

:ss/Drapion:
Drapion @ Life Orb
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Fire Fang
- Poison Jab

usually escavalier is immune to its poison-stab moves and escavalier resists earthquake really well. even when drapion goes for knock off and reduces escavaliers recovery with leftovers escavalier can still come in at another point or can straight up threaten drapion with a strong megahorn, but fire fang does the trick in safely 2hkoing escavalier in this case: 252 Atk Life Orb Drapion Fire Fang vs. 252 HP / 116 Def Escavalier: 250-296 (72.6 - 86%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

reserving rotom-mow

Rotom-Mow @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Will-O-Wisp

- Leaf Storm
- Thunderbolt

Escavalier is a natural counter to rotom-mow. It's almost impossible for rotom to really pass escavalier.
A team with a Escavalier will always put it in response to rotom-mow (to check the set, ...).
A set with wow + np allows rotom to pass Escavalier .

wow avoids being OHKO : 16+ Atk burned Escavalier Megahorn vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Rotom-Mow: 175-207 (72.6 - 85.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

np allows rotom to 2OHKO escavalier : +2 252 SpA Rotom-Mow Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 80 SpD Escavalier: 225-265 (65.4 - 77%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

(+2 252 SpA Rotom-Mow Thunderbolt vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Escavalier: 177-208 (51.4 - 60.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery )

you can use the life orb to do even more damage, but I don't really like lo rotom personally. Lefto allows you to come back several times on the rocks.

Flygon @ Lum Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 208 HP / 48 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance
- FIre Punch

48 Atk Flygon Fire Punch vs. 252 HP / 116 Def Escavalier: 196-232 (56.9 - 67.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery
16+ Atk Escavalier Iron Head vs. 208 HP / 0 Def Flygon: 150-177 (42.4 - 50.1%) -- 0.4% chance to 2HKO
the 208 evs are for this exact calc. any less attack and flygon might as well just be a noivern. The dragon dance and outrage both are there to mitigate the attack drop, and dual stab hits almost everything in the meta anyways, just be sure that wheezing is dead. In additon this also helps with pesky mons such as bronzong and grass types.

special scarf flygon

:ss/flygon:
Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- U-turn
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Blast

calc : 252 SpA Flygon Fire Blast vs. 252 HP / 80 SpD Escavalier: 308-364 (89.5 - 105.8%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery

ok i totally forgot to write this post. not much to say about that tho, escav tanks well uturn and eq from flygon so it can easily switch in and threaten it with knock off or a mega horn. Fire blast prevent that. It also works on a regular flygon scarf with just fire blast on dclaw tho but i went for spA coz spamming the draco stab is cool. (also help w avathug and doublade)

The winner is DraconicLepus with Fire Punch Toxtricity! Congratulations!

Week 7: Rotom-Wash
:ss/rotom-wash:
Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Defog
- Will-O-Wisp
Still going strong a month after dropping, Rotom-Wash has been a highly splashable addition to the tier. Not only can it switch into a lot of Stealth Rock users in the tier and Defog on them, but its Nasty Plot set is pretty good at cleaning up (:3) weakened teams, and its solid Speed tier allows it to burn foes like Pangoro and Sirfetch'd before they can even move. Get to posting! Lures are due by Thursday, March 7th.

Ribombee @ Choice Specs
Ability: Shield Dust
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Energy Ball
- Moonblast
- Bug Buzz
- U-turn

no one will think about the specs on this pokemon and rotom will often be the answer to defog.
(this set is viable, considering that Ribombee outspeed noivern)

252 SpA Choice Specs Ribombee Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Rotom-Wash: 224-264 (73.6 - 86.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

reserving facade bewear

:ss/bewear:
Bewear @ Leftovers
Ability: Fluffy
EVs: 16 HP / 252 Atk / 240 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Facade
- Drain Punch
- Earthquake
Rotom-Wash doesnt come that easily on bewear and still takes a lot but it wants to wisp it to cripple it since this thing is a threat for most teams. You can just facade on the wisp and u gucci.
+2 252+ Atk Bewear Facade (140 BP) vs. 248 HP / 168+ Def Rotom-Wash: 358-423 (118.1 - 139.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

solar beam torkoal

:ss/Torkoal:
Torkoal @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Drought
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Lava Plume
- Solar Beam
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin

Torkoal usually runs yawn / toxic instead of solar beam but when torkoal uses yawn rotom-wash can just volt switch out and dish out damage at the same time. with solar beam torkoal can catch washtom off guard and has a chance to 2hko when stealth rocks are up. rotom-wash is then either weakened heavily oder gets KOed in the next turn.

8 SpA Torkoal Solar Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Rotom-Wash: 144-170 (47.3 - 55.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

Reserving Scuffed Chandelure
1588467443839.png

Chandelure @ Blunder Policy
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Energy Ball
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
- Inferno

so my big problem with the candle is that right now it lacks a way to speed up outside of scarf. thats where i got this idea of a set from, introducing, scuffed Chandelure. Calm mind as they switch to eat a hydro, on the rare chance you dont get the roll. Then, on your turn, bop. deleted. Inferno over fire blast because it misses more often (although it sure feels like they have the same accuracy) so you can sweep with a speedy chanalure from left field. is your check to candle a haxourus? even scarf cant save you now. However if you dont feel like embracing the meme, just run lefties and replace inferno with flamethrower/fire blast.
0 SpA Rotom-Wash Hydro Pump vs. +1 0 HP / 4 SpD Chandelure: 180-212 (68.9 - 81.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 252 SpA Chandelure Energy Ball vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Rotom-Wash: 302-356 (99.3 - 117.1%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Leftovers recovery

Arcanine @ Choice Specs
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Fire Blast
- Morning Sun
- Solar Beam

Nine only learns Solar Beam as a plant type cover. Maybe it looks very basic with specs but I couldn't think of anything and I went easy. Rotom W is an interesting suit that can do just about every role. In this case my lure is Arcanine. Basically it is loading on the first turn to fit HPump and finish off on the next. I have the advantage of being a little faster being favorable nature.
0 SpA Rotom-Wash Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Arcanine: 296-350 (77 - 91.1%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252 SpA Choice Specs Arcanine Solar Beam vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Rotom-Wash: 308-364 (101.3 - 119.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Copperajah @ Choice Band
Ability: Heavy Metal
EVs: 172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Heat Crash
- Power Whip
- Earthquake
so rotom is supposed to check pretty well rajah since Heavy Slam does nothing and same thing for Heat Crash (
252+ Atk Choice Band Copperajah Heavy Slam (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 168+ Def Rotom-Wash: 59-70 (19.4 - 23%) -- possible 6HKO after Leftovers recovery, (
252+ Atk Choice Band Copperajah Heat Crash (120 BP) vs. 252 HP / 168+ Def Rotom-Wash: 79-93 (25.9 - 30.5%) -- 2.3% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery )
but if u clicked power whip on the switch in... Tom is dead as u can see here : (
252+ Atk Choice Band Copperajah Power Whip vs. 252 HP / 168+ Def Rotom-Wash: 316-374 (103.9 - 123%) -- guaranteed OHKO )
