Super Bowl Commercials

Blegh, I can't spell commerciels.

Anywhoo, we all know that the super bowl has some of the best commerciels of the year. So, it's very simple, until the super bowl starts, post some of your favorite past commercaels, and then when it starts, post good commeiacels from this year.

Anybody remember that GoDaddy one where it's in court and it's like, "I'll show you implants!" I also liked the dorrito ones where all the good stuff happens, then he runs out, and gets hit by a truck!

Sorry if this should be in Sport Arena

I've felt that the Super Bowl Commercials (with an a, not an e) were somewhat lacking the last two years. They weren't downright terrible, just not hilarious like I used to expect.

And I hate the GoDaddy commercials anyway.

If you can't spell a word.. we do have the internet to help. Google ie.

But yeah.. I work today 4pm-1am. So i'll be recording the game for the commercials. lol

I'll be watching the SB from SFU in a computer, while finishing a philosophy paper. Hmm.. maybe I should incorporate the Superbowl into my paper.

Loved the one where the dog takes off the shock collar, puts it on the guy, and then steals his doritos after barking, activating said collar.

yeah, so far, thats the best, but my little sister wouldn't stop laughing at the NCIS commerials where everyone was slapping each other
Oh, the Who is starting-whats left of them

yea that one was the best :D GO DOGS

Most of the commercials are for bud light or doritos though

Well, now that we sit at the conclusion of the Super Bowl, I feel it's safe to say my favorite ad (although I missed a few). The one where there is that girl advertising the phone in the bathtub, who takes a picture of herself in the bathtub and discusses a feature that allows her to publish the photo to all these social networking sites, which causes chaos among the men who can't stop staring at the photo.

"Timmy, what are you doing in there?"
And the gay guy who slaps his partner.

Hahahaha, my favorite was definitely "MAN, YOU'RE PLAYING LIKE BETTY WHITE."

"YEAH THAT'S WHAT YOUR GIRLFRIEND SAID LAST NIGHT."

i thought it was very awesome.

The Simpsons Coke commercial was pretty cool.

The dog-collar comercial was the best.

The Dante's Inferno, Prince of Persia, and Last Airbender commercials were ok.

I'm concerned someone actually enjoyed an e-trade commercial...

Tops for me was the Budweiser one with the bridge, the Simpsons Coke one, the Denny's chicken one (I am so getting one of those grand slams), and basically everything Bud Light did -- man they were on fire!

As a marketing/advertising major I adore this part of the super bowl though, fun to see what companies do when they're trying to put out their best.

I do not see how dropping the "I am a marketer!!" card as to why the commercials should be enjoyable or not; these commercials were all pretty drab. Maybe it works on normal people who want to be shilled to, but nothing stood out as either funny or intelligent of the few I actually bothered to pay attention to! I am not asking for miracles - not every commercial can be an "I wanna fuck you in the ass" level great commercial - just something on the level of even "cat herders" or with a single effective joke!

Commercials are enjoyable for those who study them because they can deconstruct and understand them. As someone who is just being affected by advertising, it is boring to you.

Along with the doritos and Bud Light commercials, I liked the Google one.

The whole commercial was a guy searching questions on Google, which told his whole story. (How to impress a French girl, how to keep a long distance relationship, how to make a crib).

"Keep your hands off my mama, and keep your hands off my Doritos."

Way too many awesome commercials this year, but this one was my favorite.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the Focus on the Family ad yet.

To be honest it was somewhat well done, preaching its values without overly hitting you over the head with "ABORTION IS EVIL!!!!" The fact that they played that and refused to air the other commercial, though...

My favorite had to be the Bud Light one with the voice modulator.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned the Focus on the Family ad yet.

That was the hokiest commercial... haha. Was there another one that was going to be aired later in the game, or was that it? If that was the only one, all the groups that wrote CBS about it look pretty ridiculous.

If I remember correctly, the focus on the family commercial was immediately after the dog Dorito's commercial, so my family and I didn't even realize what the commercial was until Tebow showed up. I'm going to have to watch it later to see what it said.

Again, what is wrong with you guys; there might be some special understanding that allows you to understand the fundamentals of it a little better, but it is incredibly easy to see if a commercial is boring or bad versus entertaining or intelligent. Most commercials are not exactly anything but incredibly simplistic!
