Brady on Plaxico's 23-17 prediction: "17 points??? What??? We are the greatest---oh shit shut down"
Everyone underestimated the Giants defense, they held the highest scoring offense of all time, a team that averaged 36.8 points a game to only 14 points in the biggest game of the year. The Giants defensive line manhandled an offensive line that produced 3 Pro Bowlers, and Tom Brady overthrew, underthrew, and had his timing messed up all game.
This was an upset for the ages, 14 point dogs go in against the "greatest" team of all time, one who had records, one who was undefeated, and gets shut down offensively. Give the Giants credit, they made the plays they needed and got here with a great defense. People may say they suck, but they don't, they are solid on both ends of the football and they aren't flashy so you don't know their names, and right now they are World Champs.
I cannot say enough about Eli, say what you want about his numbers, but if you look at the big picture, he shows up when it really matters. As a Giants fan I have faith that the QB can come in with little to no time left and get out a victory, he has done it time and time again, now he just did it in the biggest game of the year.
Now on to the Pats and Pats fans. Where are the Pats fans anyway? I remember droves of them everywhere when they were dropping 45 points on teams, but now they lost, the bandwagon is empty stopped in the middle of no where. And the Pats, showed no class, left the stadium with time still on the clock, Brady didn't even congratulate the opposing QB. Way to be an upstanding guy.
This may go down as one of the biggest upsets in sports history, to go alongside the Namath-led Jets. Fantastic game and one that will be remembered for quite some time. Thanks Giants.
